  PCH/GBPVR will not play video
Posted by: cidc - 2009-02-02, 08:07 PM - Forum: MVPMCX2 and other NMT stuff - Replies (5)

Hi All,

Hope someone out there may of had this, or have some idea what might cause this.

Been using PCH A110 and GBPVR1.3.11.7 fine for about 2 weeks now. I can record and play back with no problems.

Untill 2 days ago, for some reason I can record fine, however if I try to replay the recording back or use live tv - PCH screen goes black pauses and returns back to the previous GBPVR screen, no errors at all.

I can play these videos through WMP no problems and if i use PCH to broswe to the folder they play also.

I've also tried playing my mp3 but they also will not play.

I've attached the logs if that helps.

Thanks for any help in advance.

  Hauppauge IR Remote on x64?
Posted by: framed - 2009-02-02, 06:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hey guys,

Firstly, many thanks for your help in choosing my hardware a couple of weeks ago - I've now got my new GBPVR setup up and running with 1.3.11.

The only thing I can't get to work properly is the IR Remote that came with my Nova-T 500. Some of the buttons work (Arrows, OK), but not the rest (Backup, Play, Pause, etc).

I've got the Hauppauge remote chosen in Config.exe, and have hit the 'Fix 45 button remote' button (and restarted the IR program). I also installed WinTV 6.4, and tried some other drivers that were kicking around the Hauppauge forums.

I'm not too sure on if ir.exe is supposed to stay running all the time, but I've noticed from task manager that when I hit "Restart IR", ir.exe runs for a few seconds and then disappears?

I'm currently running GBPVR 1.3.11, on XP Pro SP2 x64.

Would appreciate any hints!

PVRx2 Crashes with Cyberlink PDVD 7 mpeg decoder and TS Mux
Posted by: Satori - 2009-02-02, 05:32 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

The setup runs perfectly with Cyberlink PDVD 7 mpeg decoder and ATI Mux but crashes with TS Mux. Logs attached.

I noticed the system seemed to have difficulty with aspect ratios right before the crash. At 8am it seemed to go pillarbox -> Zoom -> Pillarbox or something like that then it crashed during the hourly file switch for sesame street. It had been showing odd aspect ratios (e.g. Zooming in sesame street during portions which are normally pillar boxed) before the crash.

I wonder if this could be due to signal strength. The switch worked at 7:30, but not at 8am. The signal quality was 100 at 7, maybe it degraded.

This was all while in timeshift mode. I have the live preplay delay set to 2000ms to avoid stuttering. I have aspect ratios set to auto and the TV set to 16x9.

Not critical given everything runs well with the ATI mux, but I would like to use the TS mux because it solves this other issue:

  multi record and subtitles
Posted by: engnz - 2009-02-02, 12:13 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I've upgraded to 1.3.11 to try out multi-record. It works but the subtitle playback of the SRT file is out of sync. Works fine when I record in dvr-ms mode.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? I've switched back to dvr-ms in the meantime.

  dvbtoxmltv settings for new channel?
Posted by: engnz - 2009-02-02, 12:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm using dvbtoxmltv to grab EPG for FreeviewHD channels in NZ. I see that there is now a new Chinese channel available. I don't see this channel on DVB-S.

Does anyone know if the EPG is available via dvbtoxmltv and what settings to use in the XML config?

  Tuning DVB-T TVNZ crashes config
Posted by: engnz - 2009-02-02, 12:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I've upgraded to 1.3.11 and using HVR2200. For some reason I've can't get any TVNZ channels on FreeviewHD anymore.

When I ran a rescan, I can't preview of any TVNZ channels in the Digital Mapping screen al all. Other channels eg. TV3 and the new Chinese channel works.

I only get bits of video and audio and after a while config crashes. Log enclosed.

Has TVNZ changed sometime recently that my PDVD7 decoder can't process?

  Aspect ratio options
Posted by: spotty - 2009-02-02, 11:50 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Im using a 4x3 monitor, with GBPVR set to 4x3 in VMR custom mode.
While watching 16x9 content the screen shows the picture in the middle with black bars above and below (letterbox?).
I would like to also be able to make the picture bigger so that the black vanishes and some picture is lost off the sides (pan and scan?).
None of the aspect ratios seem to support this, one makes it a bit wider but over-stretches the height so it looks all wrong. I've had a look at config.xml & was wondering what the numbers following 'ratio=' refer to?

  Communicating with Recording Service
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2009-02-02, 11:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (16)

To help automate some maintenance tasks, is there any way that I can communicate events to the recording service from a program or batch file? For example, I would like to tell it to stop a recording, without having to press "CANCEL" in the PVRx2 interface.

Also, I am aware of postprocessing.bat and parallelprocessing.bat. Is there any way to execute some commands BEFORE a recording commences?

  Player is "skipping"
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2009-02-02, 11:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I was playing an untranscoded dvr-ms file today, when I noticed a few skips that took out anything between a few seconds and a few minutes. When I rewound, however, that video was still there (if jumpy). Is this a familiar problem to anyone? I have never noticed it before, but I did lose my config.xml file yesterday.
