What are the options for GBPVRCLI?
Posted by: keith_leitch - 2009-02-02, 11:27 AM - Forum: Slimm GB-PVR and GBPVRcli - Replies (3)

I must say that GBPVRCLI.exe is just about the ultimate tool for a dangerous old programmer like myself. I am planning some error prevention and quality control with it.

I have found the list of switches, but is there anywhere that I can few a list of the output codes that are available? I am talking about anything similar to {MinutesToEndWithPadding} The only ones I know about are those that I stumbled across in other people's examples.

MVP resets when trying to play video
Posted by: Porchop - 2009-02-02, 10:16 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (17)

Hi Guys, apollogies if this has been asked before but I am new to GB-PVR and have been pulling my hair out trying to get my MVP to work.

When I try to play a recording or live tv the screen goes blank and the device goes back to "contacting servers" and then back to the menu's. When i check the logs (see attached) I see an error message in the MVP-PVRX2.log file to say it couldn't find the .mpg file.

I have trolled the forums and tried as many tweeks as I could find but nothing has worked. I am running 1.3.7. with a Hauppauge HVR4000 and caputing NZ Freeview DVB.

The only thing I have got to work so far is net radio. I have not put any video, photo or MP3 files on the PC yet. Hopefully I will try these tomorrow.

Any suggestions / help will be gratefully received.

I have a single tuner card and a dual usb tuner. Should 'device number' be set to 1,2,3 respectively or 1,1,2?
thanks

Live TV on Hauppauge PVR-150 not working
Posted by: renewed_bald_eagle - 2009-02-02, 09:06 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (17)

I installed a PVR-150 on an old PC to watch TV while working.
WinTV that came with the board works OK however it is not a good program. I read about GB-PVR and decided to give it a try. The installation went OK. I configured it as Live TV.
PVRX2 shows a transparent window, nothing happens and status is always "sleeping".

I searched in the forum. It seems that may be the video board is not good enough however there are many other errors in the logs.

Could someone please take a look in the logs to confirm that GB-PVR can run on this PC or not? If not is just a matter of the video board or is there something else that needs to be fixed? Thanks.

The PC runs XP SP3, CPU AMD Sempron 2400+, RAM 500MB, HD 80GB, MB SIS based ASRock with internal video board SIS 661FX_760_741_M661FX_M760_M741 (yes, exactly this soup of letters and numbers)

  Version 1.3.11 Unhandled exception errors
Posted by: ArchPrime - 2009-02-02, 07:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

On my Vista 64 machine, the latest GB PVR version 1.3.11 reports an unhandled exception error every time it tries to start.

Un-installing and re-installing version 1.2.13 , there are no errors

I have uninstalled my virus checker & adware checkers, with no improvement.

Log attached - which seems to attribute the crash to no VMR support (which was not a problem for previous version, so probably wrong)

Can anyone suggest what might be causing this fault? What can I try to get the latest version working under Vista 64?

Cheers

skip unavailable channels when changing channels
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2009-02-02, 05:18 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I have a few channels that are only available on one tuner; if that tuner happens to be busy when I'm flipping channels with up/down or if I type in the channel number, all I get is a black screen and the program becomes slow to respond to further channel changes until I get it off the unavailable channel(s).

Two behaviors seem appropriate:

1) when changing channels with the up/down buttons, either just skip unavailable channels or put up a static box that says 'No tuner for this channel available due to recording(s) in progress'. The box shouldn't require any input, just inform the user, let them continue flipping channels. An even more elegant response would be to display which recording(s) is/are making the channel unavailable, but that of course is more involved.

2) if a specific channel number is typed, then I think either the static box described in case 1 or the same dialog as is employed in the TV Guide when selecting an unavailable show would work fine.

  Minimum specs for HD
Posted by: rlw - 2009-02-02, 05:05 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (6)

All,

Newbie question - I am looking at building my first HTPC using mainly spare parts if possible. I only have ATSC and would like to be able to record 1080i content. Should one of the following setups work smoothly?

ASUS P4B533 w/P4 3.06GHz
OR
MSI MS-6738 (KM2M Combo) w/Athlon XP 2600
Nvidia Verto GeForce 6200 128mb (AGP)
Up to 2GB RAM if needed

I don't have a tuner yet. I would like to be able to record and watch at the same time. Recommendations? I need either PCI or external.

Any preference on the mobo/cpu setup? I like the MSI only because it's miniATX. Thanks for the help.

  Can't "Delete all"
Posted by: Grenlen - 2009-02-02, 05:00 AM - Forum: NextPVR Enhanced Web Admin (NEWA) - Replies (2)

With the update I can't seem to figure out how to delete all the clips.
My current process is to
open the Mange2.aspx file.
in the right tool bar select none
in the right tool bar select failed (I'll then see multiple failed files)
place a check mark in the box above the clips. (all the displayed clips now have check boxes)

Then I get lost.
for each clip I see FAILED under that is the chekc box with Delete me checked.
quality is set to medium
then under that is a button called "Cancel" which seems odd because the faild clip was from Jan 12th so nothing really to "cancel" there.

Is there a glitch.. or am I doing something wrong..

thanks.
Gren

  Find All button
Posted by: johnsonx42 - 2009-02-02, 04:56 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

3 items related to the Find All button and search guide results:

1. I love the Find All button in the TV Guide. However, it goes away once something is scheduled to record... why? I'd still like to be able to see the same list of upcoming shows, and which are set to record, etc.

2. It'd be nice if the Find All button appeared in Recordings. If I'm looking at a recording (be it Ready, Pending, or Recurring) it'd be nice to have the Find All button to see the upcoming shows.

3. Finally, I notice also that the search result given by the Search Guide and the Find All button doesn't list a show that has already started. If a show is on now, I want it to tell me that too. If it is lacking the logic to determine if a show that started in the past is still on, then just have it list shows starting up to 2 hours before the present time, and leave it to the user to figure out whether said show is actually still running (ie, better to err that way than simply pretend the show doesn't exist because it started five minutes ago)

Related to the last suggestion, how about having the current date and time appear on the Search Guide screen as well?

  Recording Source Priority
Posted by: mobiusnz - 2009-02-02, 04:43 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I'm getting some oddities with Recording Sources - I'm running a Nova-T-500 and an PVR500. I've set the recording sources to list the 2 nova-T sources first and then the two analogue sources but it SEEMS to be a little random - IE when doing some testing I went to the guide to the current time and did quick record on the current timeslots and channel 1 through 4 and got TV 1 analogue but this doesn't seem to be consistent. If I use SQLite DB Browser and look at the Table? Capture Source it lists

1 MCE500a
2 MCE500b
3 MCE500rca (this is the RCA input of one of the 500's I use for UHF Sky Decoder)
4 NovaT500a
5 NovaT500b

But the allocation order is 3,4,5,1,2 from the top (IE the Nova-T-500's are 1 and 2) so with Multirecord switched on I should VERY rarely be seeing an Analogue recording but America's top Model on TV3 friday nights seems to be analogue nearly everytime when at most I might occaisionally be recording 3 recordings at this time. Do re-occuring recordings try to grab the same device used at the first recording or will a device be allocated each time based on availability from the top down??? Also one thing to note SUB is that I do have "<PreferAlternatingCaptureSources>" set to true as the main reason I want so many recording sources is to always honour the 5 minute overlaps.

Any help with the logic here would be greatly appreciated.

Matt
