I have been struggling with the digital side of my dual tv tuner. ATI TV Wonder HD 650. The analog side with my cable input works good, but I really want to get the HD over the air channels. During channel scan, 29 available channels are found, but only a few, when selected, appear in the preview box. None of the main network channels, 4.1, 6.1, 8.1, 13.1 appear although the audio is present. Sometimes selecting one of the channels crashes GB-PVR, "GB-PVR Configuration encountered a problem and needs to close" error message appears. Start GB-PVR and the channels that I did get mapped work ok. Suggested on one of the wiki was to ReRegisterFilters, which I did but did not seem to help. The Catalyst Media Center software that came with the tuner card scans and finds 23 HD channels, including all four of the network channels and displays them all, which I take to mean I just have to get GB-PVR configured correctly. GB-PVR has a much better GUI then the Catalyst software, and the Catalyst software has no EPG.
GB-PVR v1.3.11, VisionTek ATI Wonder HD 650 tuner, Winxp sp2, 4gig memory
I have attached the log files and one screenshot during mapping.
Thanks in advance
Hi all, I'm new here, but not exactly a noob. I recently setup GBPVR on a laptop with a Avermedia M039 tuner, and got it to work locally(on the laptop, with ok video, and minor audio errors), and set it up as a server.
Now when I connect with the desktop(the machine i want to be able to watch on), it will begin play back of live TV for about 2 seconds before it either goes back to the main menu(in file-sharing mode), or just hangs(in streaming mode). The same seems to occur whenever I change a channel remotely via the client.
I am running GBPVR on a dual core 2.0 ghz intel with 4 GB of ram, across a 1Gig LAN line(yeah, cables and router are all running at 1gig).
like I said, it plays locally just fine, but it seems next to useless for what I need it to do.
I get a little bit of stuttering in my video playback whenever the OSD is up. I was thinking of getting a $30 video card to pair with my onboard HD3200 to try and solve this. Anyone else ever tried to run the 780g graphics in "hybrid crossfire" configuration? I'm wondering if it will actually make a difference or not.
Let me start by saying that this PVRX2 is one slick app. Two thumbs up (more if I had 'em) for the creators! I've tried a number of media center apps and I think this is the best of all of them.
So, being new at this, I have a few questions:
1. Applying skins/themes: In the "Settings>Skin" menu, after selecting a different theme, I get a dialog asking if I want to run "CopyTheme.bat". I click run and then PVRX2 hangs. Task manager shows "not responding". After 3-4 minutes, the app "un-hangs" but the theme is not applied. If I close then reopen PVRX2, the theme has then been applied. Is this normal?
2. I use my mouse & keyboard much more often than the remote. When using the mouse in PVRX2, the pointer often disappears and I can't tell what I'm pointing at. That's probably a good thing in a home theater but I use this in a home office so the mouse is more convenient than the remote. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?
3. Speaking of remotes, I'm using the remote that came with my Visiontek HD650. The remote has no model name or anything on it, it just says "ATI Theater Video" on a decal. I configured it as an "MCE" remote and most of the buttons work. I understand there are apps out there that will reconfigure the behavior of remote buttons. What's the best or most recommended way to get all the buttons working?
4. Weather plugin: I can add cities by entering zip codes in config but I can't do it within PVRX2. The list of cities is blank. Is there a fix for this?
5. I have a couple of recorded programs in .ts format. When I choose "Video Library>Transcode" and tell it to convert to MPEG2, nothing happens. How do I fix this so I can convert my videos?
In my current setup dvd's display subtitles when they are played. The control+y command will turn them off, but this has to be done every time a dvd is started. Is there a way to set subtitles to by default not be played and the control+Y would turn them on, or even setting them to never be played at all would be ok with me.
MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF YOUR GBPVR.DB3 FILE BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES TO IT!!!
Creating the index speeds up EPG load times exponentially. It comes up so quick on my MVP now that I can't scroll fast enough to see a blank time slot. Kudos to wtg for coming up with this!
I'm trying to get this dual tuner set up and am coming across a problem. I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing but I can't seem to figure it out.
I'm using the dual tuner to control 2 STB boxes. Currently I have set up 1 capture source (I'll do the 2nd one later) for the unit and am able to watch live TV. The problem I have is changing channels.
When I press the button on the remote to change the channel, the on screen display changes the channel the is displayed in text at the bottom of the screen but the STB does not change channels.
Following a suggestion from another thread I used a digital camera to verify the the remote was actually working (you can see the transmitter light up) and it was. But when I used the camera to looked at the IR blaster to see if it was transmitting the transmitter was not lighting up.
I currently have the capture source set up as follows:
Channel Changer: MCE2005 IR Blaster Plugin...
Device Profile: My Device
Device Blaster: Both Blasters (I tried blaster 1 but it didn't work so I thought I would try 'Both Blasters'
Is this the correct configuration for the AVC-3610?
What am I doing wrong or missing?
I have installed gbpvr on a Windows XP machine. I have a wireless keyboard (a Shintaro) that otherwise works perfectly.
My problem is that the volume control on the keyboard does not drive the volume on the PC.
If I set gbpvr to control Master Volume (in the Misc2 screen), when I use the volume controls on the keyboard, the volume icon comes up on the screen - and it LOOKS like I am changing the volume, but nothing happens. ie the keyboard moves the small volume bar on the screen up and down perfectly - it is just that the volume not does change.
So it looks like the keyboard is talking to gbpvr just fine - it seems that gbpvr is not controlling the volume.
I have changed the setting on Misc2 to the other one (I forget the name, but the non Master Volume one). This does something in that the keybaord no longer brings up the volume bars - so it is worse.
