I have got a strange error on playback, it only occurs on recordings for a specific UK Channel (E4) , the playback splits the screen , so you get a black vertical line down the screen (about an inch thick) at say 75% to the right and the 25% that should be showing to the left is now in that 25% at the right, it basically looks like the screen has been scrolled to the left with the left hand side wrapping around to the right,.
This only occurs when playing back recordings made on E4 channel.
Viewing the channel via my built-in TV DVB-T tuner is ok, and even using the rescan tool in GB-PVR, the picture looks fine when viewing the channel in the scanned list.
I checked the recording in Media Player to see if it was a tuning problem, and it plays fine.
I made sure all FFDShow post-processing was switched off incase that was affecting it, have tried different decoders as well, to no effect!
I can only assume it is a combination of some artifact in the Recording and the decoder?
I thought maybe it was an issue with my Graphics card (ATI Radeon 9550), but all other recordings are ok.
The recording is made on a dual DVB-T tuner (Nova-T 500), I have tried each tuner. , same effect, I am storing the recordings as dvr-ms.
I am running the new version (1.3.11) but only upgraded yesterday, and was the same on previous version.
Anyone else seen this, or have any ideas as to what could be causing it?
After updating to 1.3.11 I have lost audio on dvb-t recordings.
I have one DVB-T channel which uses AC3 and files from this channel still works. Analog recordings (MPEG from PVR250) works too, as do my downloaded mkv's etc.
I have tried all of the audio codecs (Intervideo, Nvidia, ffdshow).
I have another box in the bedroom which I also updated to 1.3.11 and the same files which have lost audio on the main htpc work fine in the bedrom.

I have rescaned the service and can watch all channels in "Live TV" and record full-TS, DVR-MS and Cyberlink, however TS-Mux produces 0 byte recordings. Enabeling or disableing Multi record makes no difference. All other Services record TS-Mus without a problem. The log files included show a manual record from 1021 to 1024 which failed.
I used to be able to scan the channels fine (qam or remap) but now I cant. the channel scanner keeps crashing at 45-47. I am using whurs.....qam manager. and I have an hdhomerun (I guess qam still does not like me). here are my logs please help!
I've created a set of channel logos for OTA ATSC channels in the San Jose & San Francisco California area that I thought I'd share with the community.
In the attached zip file are two directories containing .gif files. ButtonLogos contains the channel logos placed in a rounded corner, shaded white box at 60x60 pixels.
RawLogos is a collection of the same logos without the box at the resolutions I found them in.
To use the logos, unzip them into the ..\GBPVR\Media\ChannelLogos directory. The files must be the same as the channel names shown in the config program.
I will open up PVRX2 and check out the TV guide and if some movie looks interesting I will record it. Later I will check the downloads and find a 6 GB movie file. When I go into a video file editor so I can cut the commercials it only show a 30 minute run time.
I can go into Windows Media Player and it also shows a 30 minute run time. A 6GB file should cover a 2 hour film.. so how come I am only able to view 30 minutes of the film. Any ideas ?
This unit arrived. I can only make one of the tuners in each unit respond to a channel map. The other tuner produces a .NET error.
What is worse, that tuner does not appear to be High Definition. Although the eBay item description stated "HDTV [1080i, 720p, 576p], SDTV [576i], and AC3 Audio Supported," all of the HD stations in the lineup come in as "Audio Only". This is consistent with the behaviour of both Standard Definition set top boxes that I own.
In addition, none of the documentation mentions High Definition. Although the name of the product in the item description is "LifeView TV Walker HDTV Twin," the product name on all documentation and the unit itself is simply "LifeView TV Walker Twin." A search of the PDF manual returns no matches for "HD", "Definition", "1080" or "720".
It seems fairly clear to me that I have been sold another incorrectly advertised product. However, if anyone knows of a likely error I might have made, I would welcome your feedback.
It's me an my volume issue again
So last time i had a volume problem you told me that the volume is not linked to gbpvr volume but rather how loud your WMP is. So I browsed around the web and found a registry key which you can modify to increase max WMP volume.
Handy. So now I had my WMP weaking up the neighbors so everything is good.
The problem is that the shows are not the same volume once I watch them through netflix plugin. For example 30 Rock is too loud, enough so I don't have to bring the volume all the way up. SVU on the other hand is still barely hearable.
Any ideas? Thank you

So as I said I messed around with this project some months ago with the only difference being that at that time I had an ATI TV Wonder PCI and a Digiwave 103g installed and I could not for the life of me get those 2 cards to play nice. I tried XP & Vista with GBPVR, various Linux distros with and without MythTV etc etc with no reasonable success. I did manage to get the 103g working ok with XP and My Theater plus the TV Wonder worked well with ATI's software but that's not what I wanted, I wanted to use a media center type application that does it all like GBPVR or MythTV! So okay I traded off the 103g months ago for a set of speakers, I sold the TV Wonder PCI at our yard sale in the summer and just yesterday I bought a Sapphire\ATI Theater 650 Pro which right now is working fantastic with Vista and GBPVR tuning in 60 some odd cable channels. So now my dilemma is what would be a good choice for a DVB-S card that will play nice with Vista, GBPVR and the ATI 650 Pro? Locally I have 3 choices of DVB-S card that I can run out and buy right now and they are the Digiwave 103g, Digiwave 202g DVB-S2 and the Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-S-Plus. Other than buying local I see on ebay many Vision Plus 1020A cards, plenty Digiwave 103g's selling for more than the price is locally and many others that I can't really figure out who the manufacturer is. I've also been looking at the Prof Tuners 6200 Red Series DVB-S PCI card as it appears to be very well support by the manufacturer and DVB Dream although I don't see it listed at the GBPVR wiki.
Comments or thoughts would be very much appreciated :o
I'm trying to convert mpg files to xvid (mp4 I'm assuming ?) for use on a Pioneer DV-410V-K DVD player via a usb port and a thumb drive.
(Perhaps later via a notebook drive.)
I've selected auto convert vxid in the gb- pvr auto conversion in the setup menu. I've read the auto convert won't work until my next recording. In lieu of that I went to my video library and selected a mpg. The only conversion that works manually from that window was dvix. Xvid was an option, but if fails to convert the file and just closes the window ?
A few other questions. Should I record in low quality since the file will be converted anyhow ?
And does gvpvr automatically move files from the recording directory to video library ?
