I have the subject remote - As per the docs this is natively supported by GBPVR? Why do I need HIP?

Yes

If you dont need the IR Blaster, and are happy with the default key mappings, then you dont need HIP. You'll only need third party software like HIP or IR Server Suite if you need to use the IR Blaster, or if you want to map additional buttons, or change the default buttom mappings.

Off course, I need the IR Blaster to use GBPVR as PVR. This HIP documentation is outdated and does not work for me......I will have to search for IR Server Suite then.....thx
