  Fast Forward Weirdness
Posted by: berminghamd1 - 2009-01-18, 03:53 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi all,

I've tried searching for this particular problem, but am not sure if it's related to a time-shift problem some others have reported.

Essentially, with HTSC recorded programs, when I attempt to fast forward at a certain point, weird things happen. Sometimes the program will fast forward *really* fast (this occasionally happens on its own-with no user input). Other times what will happen is the program will rewind! Other things I have noticed is that the time-stamps for the beginning and end of the program are off - obviously I would assume the beginning time to be 00:00:00, but sometimes it's several hours "off". Also, the end time (which would be static, ostensibly) changes based on how far into the program I go.

I'm really not sure what's up with this. My wife thinks its the hauppage remote, but we don't have any problems with video files I've downloaded - just programs we've recorded off the air.

Anyway, here's my setup.

Athalon XP 3000+
2GB DDR 333
Hauppage HVR-1600
ATI 3450 256
GB-PVR Version 1.3.7

Any suggestions or ideas?

  Pinnacle PCTV nanoStick (73e)
Posted by: Mr Evil - 2009-01-18, 12:41 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

I bought one of these because I rather liked the extremely small size and low power. It works fine with gbpvr, but I had to add this to BDA.ini for it to be recognized:

Code:
[Pinnacle PCTV 73e] TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T FILTER_TUNER="PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path0) " FILTER_CAPTURE="PCTV DiB BDA Digital Tuner (Dev1 Path0) " PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0 PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
I hope this will be helpful in case anyone else gets one.

  Background Video

I am familiar with the video inset function, but is there an option to allow video in the background when viewing the TV Guide, for example. I thought I saw this option once, but I can't seem to find it now.

So close to perfect- Help w/ 2250
Posted by: Hodr - 2009-01-17, 11:30 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Ok, with Sub's help I managed to get the digital tuners to work on my Hauppauge 2250 and I have spent the last couple of hours trying to figure out what channel is what (in the end I have mapped 27 channels that I want to keep).

I downloaded AC3Filter (had no sound w/ digital) and it is working well, and I have set up two xmltv EPG sources (one digital, one analog) and I believe I have it all working in harmony.

My BIG problem is that when I scan through channels I can go from analog to digital, but once I have gone to digital I can not go to back to analog without exiting back to the GUI and then going back to live tv. I get a black screen with no sound when I change from a digital to an analog channel.

I haven't had the opportunity to test if this also happens with scheduled recordings, but my hunch is that it will.

I am using the ATI renderer for MPEG2 video, and have ffdshow setup to do h.264 (but im pretty sure that has nothing to do with it since this is all mpeg2 data).

If anyone knows how to solve this problem or has any suggestions I am willing to try most anything.

I am running XP SP3 w/ onboard ATI 3200 graphics, 2 gigs of ram, and of course the hauppauge 2250.

thanks.

--------------------------------

Update:

The problem does exist in scheduled recordings as well, if the tuner goes from a digital recording to an analog one it has the same problem as live tv. This effectively kills the ability to use both sources, I will have to make a choice if I cannot get this straightened out.

I have tried every combination of decoder / codec available to program and it doesn't seem to help.

Nova T 500 in tuning assistant
Posted by: philanyware - 2009-01-17, 10:31 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I just bought a Nova T 500 (dual dvb-t) to replace my old hauppauge analog tuner.
I'm trying to run the tuning assistant but my card is not on the list of devices. How can I tune the channels?

GB-PVR v1.3.11

I've run ScanChannelsBDA_UK.exe and it seemed to find the channels ok (Freeview in NZ). Here's an example from the log:

# 706000kHz
# signal locked = Y present = Y strength = 44 quality = 10

============================================================================

Frequency (Scanned) = 706000kHz
Frequency (Actual) = 0kHz

Network Name = Freeview
#Alternate frequencies

#Network_2("Freeview ", 562000, 8, 1)
#Network_2("Freeview ", 690000, 8, 1)
#Network_2("Freeview ", 714000, 8, 1)
#Network_2("Freeview ", 554000, 8, 1)
#Network_2("Freeview ", 706000, 8, 1)
#Network_2("Freeview ", 730000, 8, 1)
#Network_2("Freeview ", 698000, 8, 1)
#Network_2("Freeview ", 666000, 8, 1)

Channel Name LCN SID Vid Aud PMT
-------------------------------------------------------------------
TV3 , 3, 1300, 0, A410, 300 #

# Signal Strength = 44
# Signal Quality = 100%

I'm new to digital tuners. Have read a good chunk of wiki and forums but don't think I have a good high level overview yet.

Thanks,
Phil

  Problem with Guide
Posted by: richardw456 - 2009-01-17, 09:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I just installed GBPVR 1.03.11 and I am having a problem. No guide. It downloads the info from Schedules dircct, and I see the channels apear, but when I go to PVRX2 and hit guide, it just drops back to the main menu. From the logs it looks like it can't find the jpg files, but I'll let you guys take a look. I am going to try to install Community skin and see if that helps. The above was with Blue.

GBPVR10311 & HVR 1600 new user atsc mapping error
Posted by: yurong - 2009-01-17, 09:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I am trying to setup an HVR-1600. Got analog channel list from schedulesdirect.

Help will be appreciated.

Analog and ATSC work with WinTV. Analog works with GBPVR.

When trying to map channels, get error below.

0 byte recordings using ts mux on sat recording
Posted by: soccerdad - 2009-01-17, 07:04 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

I am getting 0 byte files when recording satellite programs using ts mux. It works fine using ati or cyberlink. I really need to record in ts since it is the only thing that works well on my client for live tv. (I am using file sharing). Attached are the main logs. I watched live for a while, then stopped and tried a recording. NASA channel, no encryption.

TS mux works fine on my QAM channels.
