After following along with the suggestions in this thread, I have almost got GBPVR working how I want it. My one remaining problem is playback of the live TV buffer instead of live TV when I change from an HD to an SD channel. It's really weird, to say the least. When it gets to the end of the buffer, it exits out to the TV guide. If I change channels again before it gets to the end, the OSD shows that I've changed channels but then it just starts playing the buffered HD stuff over again.
I installed GBPVR, and entered my HVR-1800 as the source on the "Capture Sources" tab. I selected "Analog Recording Plugin" with no EPG for now. The HVR 1800 I have isn't on the list, but there is a listing for HVR 1800MCE, so I used that. I have analog cable TV service.
Now, how to get channels set up??? No mention of the Tuning Assistant is made during setup. That's what I mean by "not intuitive". I happened across it, and I assume I needed to run it. I did, and it found several channels.
There are no instructions of what to do next, but I guessed that I needed to go back to the configuration. I did, but there are no channels listed on the Channels tab.
I'm stuck... I don't know what to do next, and there are no onscreen prompts or instructions.
OK this is the strangest one I have ever had. I updated to 1.3.11 on my server and client (vista64). Everything went well and it works. HOWEVER, I went to change something in config on the client and I get a virgin config screen without any of my client info on the Capture sources tab. It still has all the HUSH PC stuff in the boxes. It also shows all the default codec settings. I then went into the gbpvr directory and opened config to edit and it looks like a virgin install without any of my changes. What is really odd is that it will run pvrx2 and shows the guide and my directorys off the server. I can view shows and everything. It runs and acts like my config, but config does not show it. I don't want to reboot because I really don't want to loose all my config. Any ideas???
Hello to you all on this forum, been a regular visitor since Nov. 2007 when I built my first HTPC and chose GBPVR as the tv portal, have learnt a great deal since then and always found an answer if I was stuck here- so much so that this is my first support thread.
My problem is that on upgrade the installer failed with 'internal error 2753.config.exe' tried all the usual proceedures to repair things but to no avail- decided on a complete re-install, but no luck, still the same.
Unfortunately I could not back up the logs as even the uninstaller stalled (if you know what I mean) and I vaped the Devnez folder before engaging brain:confused: other further efforts to rescue things have also failed.
I'm afraid all is lost now, I have decided on a complete re-vamp of the whole setup.
To clarify, I am sure GBPVR is NOT my main problem, the hardware selection (Asus Pundit- AMD X2- Win XP Combo) has been a nightmare from start to finish, I could elaborate but to be fair bordem would reduce me to tears (again) and most likely every one else reading this.
My main reason for this post is that I felt it important to mention this upgrade failure just in case Sub needs the info.
Many thanks to you all for all your helpful posts- and. be assured I will be back to GBPVR soon BUT with a PROPER mainboard and case!
I have 2 monitors but not a tv. I have been in the config app and clicked on the ratio properties. It seems as the resolution is set beyond my monitors capablities. my XP resolution on both monitors is 1024x768 but from the looks of that picture the video seems to be set 3x more than my monitors compasity ... can some one help with this problem?
I've a Hauppauge HVR 900H Tv-card
its a USB-device with a hybrid-receiver that can receive DVB-T and analoguous signals.
I was able to configure GB-PVR (1.3.11) to work with the DBT-channels, but I cant setup this nice program for the analog channels / tuner.
For this issue I added the HVR 900H to the direct.ini (analog devices ?!), and configured 2 capture devices - one fore DVB-T and one for analog on the same TV-card
Now the tuner-assistent shows me an TV-signal - but no audio-signal - because of: "ConnectPins failed" followed by a message: "Failed to connect pinNameCrossbarAudioDecoderOut to pinNameCaptureAnalogAudioIn"
For this try I modified direct.ini in the following way (filtercheck result is appended at the end of this post) - this section is a copy of the existing Hauppauge 900 Section (without H) in that file.
What can I do to enable both capture capabilities - the recorder service should switch to the analog-configuration for analog channels and to DVB-T config for all DBV-T channels
thanks
