Just started working with a helius MVP model E1 and have a few questions/problems.
1) Is there a GBPVR theme with larger fonts? I only have a 20" tv and the 2 default themes are impossible to read. I downloaded 2 themes and the MVP boots to a black screen when I use any but the default blue and slick. I thik the ones i downloaded were called something like flat and orb.
2) I am trying to work with zprocess so I can watch dvd files on my mvp and have carefully followed the entire install procedure. I have copied a test VOB file to the video library but when I try and play it the mvp goes black and reboots. I have tried this 2 times as stated in the directions. I have also done the same test with a sample avi file with the exact same results. MPG files recorded from tv play fine as does live tv.
3) I would love to be able to play real media (RM) files through my mvp and it seems that with a vlc implementation I might be able to do this but I also have had no success with the vlc implementation (both thorough gbpvr and through mvpmpc)
I am not even sure what log files to check for all of the above I am reasonably new to gbpvr and admit I am more then a little lost. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
I've been using your wonderful software for a day now and find it great. I had a few teething problems, mainly the channellogos folder hadn't been created and I was getting errors, but I do have a problem with my setup which I wonder if anyone else has experienced and has an answer for.
Firstly, I'm using a hauppauge wintv-nova-td-500 pci card, with dual freeview (DVB-T) tuners.
The original hauppauge software was a total pile of rubbish, and even though I managed to record an hour long program, the resulting file is unplayable - skips from one scene to another every few seconds, hangs all 4 or 5 players I've tried and is a total waste.
That's when I stumbled upon your program, and it works very well. Takes a bit of getting used to when configuring the software etc. So many options, so hard to choose the right one.
Anyway, back to my problem. I have scanned for channels, and even though not all of them have been displayed, I think I've got enough. The trouble is, that for each channel, "BBC 1", for example, there's a second channel in the list called "BBC 1 (Audio #2)". This wouldn't be a problem, but when viewing the EPG, the original "BBC 1" has no program information, but the "BBC1 (Audio #2)" does. I'm not sure what to do next, as I feel I need to somehow associate both BBC 1 channels together.
The other problem is that when viewing one of the "Audio #2" channels, there is no audio played. I can't therefore record a program by selecting it in the EPG on this channel - instead I have to set up a manual recording to get the right channel number.
I hope all this makes sense, and I could post a picture of my channel list window (or any other file or log) if that helps.
Great Program Sub and all who have contributed!
I've recently installed an HVR-2250, and after running config many times to
map channels, it occurred to me that a 'Copy Mapped Channels' button would be a nice feature. This feature would simply copy the mapped channel details from one device/tuner to a second device/tuner.
I have had some weird zero recording length problems of late. It appears to only happen on scheduled recording for the 2nd tuner (1st in use for prior recording).
When I ran a manual record test all works fine. Even tried a scheduled test and all was fine again.
I have attached logs.
Problem recordings were :
2009-01-08 20:29:25.156 - Eli Stone (Failed)
2009-01-07 20:29:03.703 - House (Failed)
Tests that worked were:
2009-01-08 21:13:52.359 t2 (Worked OK)
2009-01-08 21:45:00.656 t2a (Worked OK)
Not too sure what is going on here. Both tuners are USB and it all seems to work when I run a deliberate test!
I jsut upgraded to the most recent version (was running 1.2.13 for many months w/o issue, just updated to 1.3.7). The install was fine and I was able to access PVRX2 and the config utitlity w/o any problem, but shortly in PVRX2 encoutnered and error and closed, since then I cannot start the config utility or PVRX2, the error reporting window immediately pops up.
I have attached all of the most recent log files.
After these errors I tried the following.
Repairing the install - would go to near completeion then the progress bar would stop and go backwards and gve a message saying repair could not be completed due to an error
Uninstalling and reinstalling 1.3.7 - still encoutner error whenever attempting to open PVRX2 or the config
Reinstalling 1.2.13 - same thing
restarting computer and other thigns like that
The tray icon is there, and when I right click on it and try to launch PVRX2 or the config utility I get a different error (attached jpeg). This one seems realted the .net framework. Becasue of that I downloaded installed the latest version of the .net framework, but no change was seen.
Unfortunately, when looking at the logs folder there were so many in there I couldn't discern which ones were the most recent so I deleted them all and zipped the new ones that popped up. I strongly suspect that this was a stupid thing to do, as there is no record of the first instance of an error.
I appreciate any insight anyone can provide in advance, and please let me know if any other information may prove useful towards finding a solution.
I am new to this so please be patient. I'm using a Leadtek Winfast DV1800H card which came with WinFastPVR2 software (which I don't like for various reasons) and now use PVRX2 (absolutely great!). Now, I get (here in Perth, Western Australia) EPG information for Channel 9 using the WinFast software but while using PVRX2 software I don't get anything. All other channels are fine (7 and 10) but 9 has a problem of sorts. I have fiddled settings here and there but I am too inexperienced to understand what mechanism is responsible. I've searched forums and Googled my keywords but I can't find anything and don't actually know enough to know what to ask (specifically). Thank you in advance for your efforts and patience.
Im living in New Zealand with a DVB-T Hauppage HVR 4000 and Ive finally come back to GBPVR to get rid of the blurry vision on our 1080i TV3 (successfully).
However I have no sound. I remember we solved it last time by using monogram and doing a funny thing with regsvr32. However someone from here (I think) talked me through how to make that happen but I cant find it. I just downloaded monogram again (ive reinstalled windows since I last tried).
So could someone explain how to make mongram work? And also to make regsvr32 work?
My setup is Server2003 running GBPVR 1.3.7. with 1 mvp.
I've just received my new PCH A110, came in a lovely box
Just hooked it upto my network and have already had some problems.
I updated the firmware to the lastest version with no issues.
1) I then used the network browser to connect to my nas box.
Connects fine but it is very... slow. Infact when I play either music of video it comes to a grinding holt and I getting 'Buffering' this may take upto 2mins to get going. If I put the same file on a pen drive plays straight away.
2) Then thought I will have a go at getting gbpvr to work. I ran the dummies install. All appeared to be good.
Then started up the browser on PCH and tried to connect to my server.
The message I get is "No content found on server" I think this is a password problem.
Just to test a little more a downloaded the pch_script_samples to a pen drive. I tried to run these. I'm finding that I'm unable to get these linux scripts to run. I get the message " Request cannot be processed". I've played about with the scripts and it seems that I can't run the bash code.
Is there something on the PCH that lets me run the code?
Any help would be very greatfull. If anyone out there is using server 2003 please get incontact.
