  New card
Posted by: JimmyA - 2009-01-07, 02:23 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (32)

I have just installed a new card, an AVerMedia AverTV Bravo Hybrid PCI-E. I didn't get an option to scan for channels but when I started Live TV I got a message that no channels were set. I added yapi2xml, which I used previously, and loaded the xml file and did an 'update epg'. Now when I Live TV I get the same error message. When I try TV Guide the screen locks. The logs, zip attached, complain about a 'divide by zero' exception.

Any help!

  until I get a remote blaster manual switching of channels
Posted by: terramir - 2009-01-07, 02:16 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Anyway to setup gbpvr so it prompts to change the channel so you don't need a remote blaster?
Because I have a analog TV card and well a digital convertor box until I get a remote blaster I'll have to manually switch the channels to record.
help:confused:

  MC2XML gets no listings, please help with .chl file
Posted by: MOVIEPHONE11 - 2009-01-07, 01:03 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

My mc2xml.chl file looks like this:

* -a append " *" to new programs
* -A append " *" to live programs
* -F output channel "name" first (rather than "number name")
* -L include <live /> tag (not part of xmltv.dtd)
* -u output date/time in UTC (default = localtime)
* -U output UTF-8 (default = "ISO-8859-1")
* -f force download
* -d <#> set listings duration (in hours)
* -s <[+/-]#> set listings relative start position (in hours)
* -c <code> us -g 20006
* -g <code> 14202
* -w <seconds> wait for <seconds> and exit
* -t use titantv service
* -T <user>:<pass> use schedules direct service
* -i <#> add <#> to all channel numbers
* -I <xmltv file> include <xmltv file> in output
* -R <filename> set ren filename (default = "mc2xml.ren")
* -D <filename> set dat filename (default = "mc2xml.dat")
* -C <filename> set channel file (default = "mc2xml.chl")
* -o <filename> set output file (default = "xmltv.xml")

I have a feeling it is not working because I have this file coded all wrong. I am not a programmer, so I am a little lost. Please tell me how I can fix this code to make it work. My update.bat file asks me which provider I want when I run it, so I beleive that file is working. Help would be appreciated, thanks.

  Cannot record using remote connection
Posted by: Bazsl - 2009-01-06, 11:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

I am running GB-PVR on a headless PC. I have GB-PVR installed on my laptop and I can connect to the headless PC and view the TV Guide and the list of pending recordings. However, I cannot select a program in the TV-Guide and schedule it for recording. I can display the menu and click Quick Record but the program is not scheduled on the headless PC. Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong?

I have also tried using Remote Desktop to run PVRX2 on the headless PC but that results in the error "Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video render."

If I connect to the headless PC using UltraVNC and start PVRX2 I get an empty window. If anyone has a working solution for using GB-PVR on a headless PC please let me know. Thanks

  What tuner card for NZ freeview
Posted by: Windmill77 - 2009-01-06, 10:30 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

I am a little over whelmed by what card to get.

I have a new media PC I have build and now am ready to put in a tuner card.

I want to access freeview in NZ (DVB-S) and want to be speced for HD even though I currently don't have HD screen - Yet.

I know I do want to have the dual channel (watch & record) and would perfer to only have a single input from the dish - but that is not a biggy.

Set up as it is at present:
Mobo Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H 780G
Onboard graphics and sound - will add a graphics card later if need it.
4 Gig Ram
case - Antec Fusion with remote.
plus the usual other bits
Running XP SP3

So what card to get? Also will the remote that is with the Fusion box do the trick? Seems fine to me.

  PCH take a while to ship? Ebay prices?
Posted by: ApexHack - 2009-01-06, 10:21 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (4)

Hello everybody out there,

I'm just curious why people are paying so much for these things on ebay. They are consistantly going used for $20 or so above the price from NMT/Syabas and more for new ones. The only thing I can think of is that these people know they will get these quicker.

The first thing besides the price I think of is the warranty. I would think the piece of mind gained by buying from the manufacturer would outweigh the "have it now" deal. Am I wrong in assuming a used one or one from a third party would not have a warranty?

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger but want to order directly from Syabas. I wouldn't mind a couple of weeks. I saw someone over on the NMT forums mention this time frame.

Cheers everyone

  Hauppauge HVR 930C supported?
Posted by: pworm - 2009-01-06, 10:16 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (28)

Hi,

I am just wondering if anybody has managed it it get the HVR 930C (Triple-Hybrid: Analog DVB-T DVB-C) working? I just trying to map channels using the DVB-C Tuner - but without success.

Have installed the latest drivers from 11/2008.

Added this to bda.ini:

Quote:[Hauppauge HVR-930C]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-C
FILTER_TUNER=WinTV HVR-930C BDA Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=WinTV HVR-930C BDA Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

Maybe there has something else to be changed because of the triple tuner? Would appreciate it very much to get some hints.

Regards,
pw

  HD Playback Oddity
Posted by: neil... - 2009-01-06, 09:42 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

Hi

I am experiencing something odd when playing back recordings from BBC HD.

  • With the H.264 Decoder set to Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder (PCM45) - no audio/no video
  • With the H.264 Decoder set to System Default - works perfectly with approx 50% CPU utilisation (Core2Duo 2.4Ghz) using Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder (PCM45)

GBPVR logs and screenshot from GraphEdit show that something is broken when I select the decoder but I don't understand why.

I also note, that despite the Cyberlink Audio Decoder being selected, the Elelink one is being used. This is not a major problem I suppose.

The other really interesting thing is that if I simply rename the same recording to .mpg and play it in PowerCinema (presumably using same decoder, plays nicely (even smoother) at about 5% CPU utilisation. It was in fact this discovery which led me to start playing about with the settings in GBPVR in the first place!!

Any help appreciated...

Many many thanks for the great software, with a great support community :-)

Neil
