Just updated my network to 200mbs homeplug. Could anyone recommend a Firewall software. It has to be freeware and ideally use as little system resources as possible as well as be easy to set up.
If I use the SQLite Database Browser (yeah, I backup the gbpvr.db3 before I dare), while the recording service is active, and the only changes I make are to a show's description column, can I mess things up?
I mean - is it doing per-entry locking? Something else? Do I need to edit, and save changes immediately for every change?
I've finally gotten my GB PVR machine up and running, and I've found out that the aerial in the living room isn't good enough for DVB-T. The aerial that's hooked up in the spare bedroom is though. I really don't want to get into buying new aerials as I'm in a rented place and will probably move in a few months time.
I have an 801.11g wireless router and wifi card kicking around the place. Is recording on one machine in the spare room and streaming over to the other machine in the front room a sane or feasible idea?
Decided to have a bit more of a play tonight and pulled out my old Twinhan DVB-S StarBox - surprisingly it was detected and setup without much hassle on Vista.
GBPVR detects it as available, so I setup Optus D1 (FTA) and some channels TV1,TV2,TV3 and C4, clicked 'Map to Digital'. It scans through but finds no channels. I had a quick look through the logs and it is getting 94% signal and 99% quality and is getting some kind of results/listings but all have a Video PID of 0.
Any hints/tips?

Should also mention that it was working fine in the TwinhanDTV application - detected channels fine but was unable to display anything as it always had 'unable to connect filters' errors. Also, I have my dish cable split and feeding a sky unit and the twinhan box - sky is supplying power, twinhan is not.
Has anyone had any luck getting a Hauppauge HVR-2250 to work?
I tried installing the drivers off of the CD that came with it (version 4.7) and neither GBPVR or WinTV (Hauppauge App) were able to tune in any channels. I then installed version 7.5.6.26354.PreRelease drivers, and it tuned in all the channels that it should. However, most channels it would not show any video (in WinTV or GBPVR). Sometimes I would get audio only, other channels nothing at all. WinTV would simply crash with the new drivers...
I've tried the MS DVR-MS mux and TS Mux, but with no luck.
Admittedly, this is probably a driver issue and nothing to do with GBPVR. I am very disappointed in the Hauppauge product so far, at this point it is completely useless. I am also unable to get the second IR port on the Hauppauge blaster to work, but that is a problem for another day.
I am running GBPVR v 1.3.7, on Win XP, SP3. using OTA channels. I believe that both tuners are set-up properly (I can watch some sub-channels, but not the "main" .1 channel)
So is this hopeless, or have others been able to get this to work? I could care less about getting the analog side to work (I have 2 PVR-150s, which worked very well).
I am currently running a Mac and access GBPVR by Remote Desktop Connection. I never had any problem launching GBPVR.exe interface in the past and could access the GBPVR menu; however, since GBPVR.exe has been phased out in more recent builds I have not been able to access the menu via RDC. When I double click the PVRX or PVRX2 icon to launch the application interface the application launches but does not display the menu interface. If I go directly to the PC and do the same routine I see the menu on the PC screen. Any ideas why PVRX2 refuses to display the menu over a RDC connection?
I've recently updated to the newest version of gamezone (from 1.4), and now whenever I select a rom from any list (I use MAME, Kega and NES), I just get kicked back to the main PVRX2 menu. I've tried going back to an older version of Gamezone, gone through the config as much as I know how, went down to just one emulator, deleted and rebuilt the Mame rom database (as suggested in another thread), but nothing seems to work.
When I look at my logs (dangerous, I know), is seems that it is not calling any .exe file (am I reading that right?), then calling the main menu back as gamezone shuts down.
Can anyone shed some light on what might be going on?
