With the help of some others on this board (another topic), I was able to get autoconvert starting, learning that I have to have it set to TS Mux (Full TS and Microsoft DVR-MS do not work) and I cannot use Xvid (autoconvert won't start if I have it set to Xvid). However, now that I have it converting, the audio and video are completely out of sync. It doesn't matter if I convert to Divx, wmv, or mp4, the audio and video are always running at different speeds. Is there any surefire way to fix this?

first , I setup everything in config, and updated epg with my SD number, they all are ok in the capture source tab but in the channels tab all the mixed up channels are stil there and I can't delete them. When I go to the tvguide in GBPVR I only see all the mixed up channels and if I tune to one I know is no good I only get a blank screen. where do I go to delete these channels ?
Second: config does not hold it's folders settings :eek: It always reverts to c:\temp. Every time i open config I have to reset mostly everything.
I was thinking of doing a mock-up, but I'll try to explain what I'm looking for.
I'd like the main menu to list my sub folders or groups, but as each is highlighted, it shows that groups sub items as selectable, so that the user doesn't need to enter the group to see/use the items.
So, when PVRX2 starts, you see this:
Video 'Recordings' 'Video Library' 'Search Guide'
Movies
Music
Online
If you move down to Movies, you see this:
Video
Movies 'Movie Wiz' 'DVD' 'Watch Now'

To music this:

And you could then use the left/right navigation to select from those options, that way you can quickly see everything available.
FOr some reason, Quicktime does not recognize gb-pvr's MPG files as movie files. I would like to be able to play these files on the mac attached to the network, but more importantly, edit them in iMovie. I can play them in VLC on the mac, but iMovie requires Quicktime. The error I get is that quicktime cannot parse the file or that the file is not a movie file. Any suggeations? Thanks
OK I have GBPVR set up and can navigate the menus. However, I get no sound at all. Funny, I can get sound if I just the native NMT apps. Any ideas?

Hello,
Trying to get GBPVR set up on my PCH and did the install script. When I got to part 2 where you change your video settings from auto to something else I changed mine to 1080p (I have a 1080p tv) and now my screen is just black. I can't change it back. I have tried unplugging the PCH and rebooting. I do see the PopcornHour buffering image but nothing after that. Any clues on how I can get back in to change the setting to something else?

I have ATI Theater Pro 650 PCI version. Installed GBPVR 1.3.7. Ran the latest WDM drivers from the ATI website.
I had used previous version of GBPVR successfully last year but haven't touched it since I built my new HTPC this month. So I know this card was capable of live preview before with GBPVR.
So my problem is this:
Live preview of ATSC channels has audio but does not have any video. I had this problem also with my other PC which I recently pulled this card from. I recorded a 30 second file in GBPVR to test with and opened it in Media Player Classic. The video WAS working when I viewed that file.
Does anyone know why I can't get the live preview to work? I installed the CMC software that came with the card to test it and it plays live tv okay in that application.
Just to let you know. Upgraded to new TV from Thomson 32" CRT Widescreen running at max 800x600 screen-res to a Philips 42" LCD Full-HD Widescreen (42PFL5603D).
After tweaking the gfx-settings a bit, I can now have GBPVR run at 1920x1080p, and the menu-view is stunning! No more corny 800x600, but a crisp and crystal clear HD-pic. As an added bonus, now my Geforce 6200 AGP-card, doesn't tear the picture anymore, even when running an avi-file from the wifi-network using a 802.11g-connection. I used the DVI-out on the gfx-card and connected it to one of the HDMI-slots on the TV. Windows XP now even recognises the monitor as a Philips TV!
Can you tell I'm satisfied?
Thx for a great piece of software!! Still running the 1.0.13-version though, the latest refuses to install, but that's a later problem.
I am experiencing a great deal of frustration identifying freeesat channels such as BBC3 and BBC4 , also some of the obvious free to air channels appear as encrypted probably the Sky version which is simpler to identify.
It would be very useful if any member who has already identified the channels could post their edited scan file onto the forum to assist us amateurs who may be struggling in mapping the Radio Times derived EPG to the channels.
I apologise if any of the following is unclear, I am at work and not by my HTPC so I'm doing it all from memory!
I have done as follows:
- Installed Vista along with drivers and Nova-T 500 drives/software
- Installed GBPVR
- I have then followed the Wiki guide to scanning for channels, and it picks up nothing.
I know the card works fine with the antenna because I can scan for all Freeview channels through the normal Wintv software.
When scanning through GBPVR, I tick the box saying only show installed devices and I get 5 or 6 options, I have tried each one but none will pick up channels. An image flashes up from time to time during the scan(usually once or twice) and I do get "Strength:1300" so it is seeing some sort of signal but it just cant seem to pinpoint any specific channels at all.
I have tried scanning on the "all regions" drop down box with no luck. A fellow worker who was experience with mythtv told me that I should select "rowdridge" location in "Southern england" drop down as that is the closest point to me. I tried this and the same thing happened.
I am getting so frustrated! Any help would be much appreciated. Please ask if you need any more information.
