I am upgrading to 1.3.7 and have the error repeatedly when running the installer. The full message is "Error 1316. A network error occurred while attemtping to read from the file ...GBPVR10307(1).msi"

I saved the downloaded file locally. I've tried re-downloading, but with the same error.

Today I can select among a coule of list views in the Video Library. Mainly a couple of Icon views and two different list views.

What I would like is the ability to have a folder view (icons) and a File view (list)
So if there is only folders listed on a level, all is presented as icons and if there is files on the level, the list view is used.

I often have rather long filenames and it is difficult to see the complete names when the files is shown as icons.
But a icon view is nice for the folders, where the folder.jpg is shown.

I have recently upgraded my computer to a custom built Vista machine so trying to find my way around the new operating system at the same time.


I have installed version 1.3.7 in the default location,
I have succesfully scanned for and mapped the tv channels
The epg is apprently up to date
I added the mvpmc dongle and got the hauppauge MVP up and running it logs in connects to the server
GBpvr works through the MVP, I can watch live tv, see the epg, and navigate around with the remote.

:confused:
I can not use gbpvr on the computer, it starts up, I can scroll around through the main main menu but selecting the tv guide results in a blank screen and having to close the program with the task manager.

Any help would be appreciated?

Has anyone created a post-processing utility that will take the alternate data stream "metadata.xml" (attached to a DVR-MS file recorded by GBPVR) and insert the metadata into the DVR-MS file in the native metadata format used by Media Center?

Our family uses Vista Media Center for browsing recorded shows, some of which are recorded using GB-PVR (for one of multiple video sources). However, Media Center does not display the show description or other metadata because it is expecting native DVR-MS metadata rather than the alternate data stream metadata. I was wondering if anyone has coded a postprocessing utility that would insert the native DVR-MS metadata that Media Center wants.

I could do this manually using the DVR-MS editor written by Stephen Toub http://blogs.msdn.com/toub/archive/2005/...16874.aspx
but hopefully somebody has figured out how to do this automagically based on his source code examples:

Whenever I am playing a DVD and I am navigating the menu I can't see the cursor.
I know it's there and I know it works because for example if menu has 4 items and I load the DVD and click DOWN twice and click ENTER it will enter the third item on the menu. But i can't see the cursor moving or whenever it's actually set on something. I hope this makes any sense. I'll be happy to clarify. Thanks for your help!

I noticed the other night that a recording stopped prematurely.
Looking at the logs, it appears to be caused by another recording on the same tuner. I have a dual DVB-T tuner. When it stopped normally, it appears to cause the other recording to stop abnormally!

Normal recording: Johnny Cash (TG4) stops at 21:40
Abnormal recording: Ocean's Twelve (TV3) Starts at 21:00 - FIle is only 40mins in duration. Last update on file is listed as 23:35...however obviously no stream data was added after 21:40.

Is this a known fault? I am using version 1.2.13.

Recently got an HVR-2250. I noticed that with this card, I cannot several channels that I am able to get with my set top box. I'm missing 3 channels (6 subchannels total). This is for OTA ASTC.
I've tried the channel detection in WinTV and also Media Portal and it's pretty consistent....
Any suggestions? My outdoor antenna has a signal amplifier...can I get a better one or something? Or is there some setting somewhere I can play with?

I upgraded to a newer comskip and then I have crashes. First it said it was missing some dlls, which were in the klite ffmpeg area. I put those directly into the gbpvr directory. Then it finally crashed again and it said it failed but gave no real reason.

What should I do? I tried moving files it couldn't find directly to the comskip/gbpvr directory but that didn't do it.
