can GBPVR record a hi-def media stream from a slingbox pro hd?

Where is GBPVR writing the file it is currently recording? It does not seem to be putting it in the directory where it eventually ends up, nor anywhere else I can see. Kinda like magic

I'm hoping I can use my PCH to start viewing a file before it has finished recording.

Each time I click this option in the Main Menu, it flashes for a fraction of a second and then goes right back to Main Menu.

Would appreciate any help. Logs attached.

I have tried to upgrade or install 1.3.7 several times - even re-downloading the file. The install seems to go OK but just a few seconds after starting PVRX2, it crashes. All I can find in the logs are some messages about "expired license found". Of course, I don't have the same problem with 1.2.13 - I am getting pretty good at reverting back.:o

I would appreciate any help -- and at this point -- would welcome having my problem be a "senior-citizen moment"!

Three problems one is no sound on over the air with digital channels. I do have sound when iam mapping the digital channels when in this screen

If i click on any of the channels in the box on the right that says "Channels found during scan" i get both sound and video in the small box above. But after i map the channels and go into GBPVR i get no sound. Video seems fine but no sound.

2nd problem
Iam also getting GBPVR to crash after i have set up the over the air digital channels every so offten usually when switching back to main menu from watching TV.

3rd problem. My computer is starting up from hibernation for no apparent reason. My update EPG is set for 4pm when i got home tonight at about 5pm PC was off about 5 minute later it was on. I checked GBPVR and it wasnt recording anything or doing anything at all that i could tell.

Using two HAUPPAUGE 1600 cards plus a 150 card. I only set up one of the 1600 cards for digital so far.

Since I'm using SPDIF out on my MB, the only way to change volume is the Wave output - can I tell GBPVR to change the Wave volume when I use the volume keys?

I installed GBPVR on Vista 64bit and configured it just as i did with Vista 32bit that i had previously installed.
Everything works even mediaMVP and EPG. Except i get static instead of TV.
I did the remap thing in the registry TS0-1. But that doesnt help.
I get TV in MCE and i can record in MCE.
So i just dont get it why i cant get TV in gbpvr. Am i missing something?

If someone has ideas about it let me know

I'm relatively new to GBPVR and I am trying to get the EWA to work. I have installed GBPVR 1.3.7 which I believe includes a version of EWA that should be able to recognise mkv files?

Everything else is working fine, I have VLC installed and have set the video directory in the config programme. However, when viewing the Video Library tab in EWA I am not seeing any files. If I copy in the original ISO image then this can be seen and played through EWA. But the MKV file is not showing up.

So what am I doing wrong, missed or which log file can I review to see what is wrong?

I feel like such a newbie again. But this time, I writing a wiki page to get 'er done...

I bought a HVR-1600, and not surprisingly I'm having trouble. I'm hopimng to identify what I'm doing wrong and fix it, or identify if I'm having hardware troubles and replace the card within my 7 day return period...

First off, I had a hell of a time installing the card and its drivers. I read about conflicts and so I ulled out all my other cards, and sure enough the card installed and seemed working properly.

During this process, I installed and unistalled the drivers and wintv suite many times. When the little yellow exclamation mark went away, I was so excited that I started right into GB-PVR.

I created a digital capture source, setup and connected the digital EPG, populated the channels. So far, just like normal.

Then it's time to map channels. I already knew the few channel numbers I should be expecting hits on (after scanning with my TV)

In my area I have one HD and 4 SD clear QAM channels. On the one HD (PBS) channel, I was shocked when I actually got a picture and sound in the little preview window.

Question: Is it expected to be jerky, stuttery video in the preview?

And then on the 4 SD channels, I get a brief less than second flash of a screen, and then what seems like a combing interlacing of green mush (I forgot if the audio dropped out)

Anyway, I recognized that I could come and go in the config, adding and mapping channels, so I left with just the one HD channel.

I should point out that several times during the maping and previewing, My computer either hard locked up, or config locked up...

OK, so now, what would a newbie do to start watching liveTV? Or record?

A quick record gave me two zero byte dvr_ms files. I switched to the TS mux and then a quick record gave me two zero byte .ts files...

I have not installed any muxes or anything yet.

I installed the ts mux patch from the survival thread and reregistered filters.

Not sure where to go next.

After I get this, I want to play with tweaking (including using whurlston's utility - but I wanted to gho with defaults for now...

As said, I'm a little concerned I have hardware issues too, as the hard locks usually mean that, but then it could be drivers right?
