Is it possible to export a capture source and its channels from one database file and import it into a different installation of GBPVR?

The reason I ask is that I spend ages getting all the UK sat / freeview channels right on my downstairs media centre, then have to do the same thing upstairs. Recently, I have found that I can simply copying the whole database to the upstairs machine, which saves hours. However, soon I will be putting my 13/19E sources back in upstairs and this will make a simple database copy impossible.

If I could export the UK sat and freeview sources from downstairs and import them upstairs, I would be laughing!!

Does anyone have any experience getting the VFD to work on the Antec Fusion. I picked one of these up on a Newegg special for $99 USD. I love the case but don't really know what I could use the VFD for or if it is even worth using it.

Any info would be appreciated.

Setup - Comcast Cable w/ ~ 20 clear cast qam channels, Windows XP, Hauppauge HVR-1600 & GBPVR --

I have my analog channels mapped and everything is just peachy. Now I come to trying to receive Comcast cable clear QAM channels and getting them mapped accordingly. So far, it looks like I have pretty good signal strength and gbpvr seems to scan and see most (if not all) of the channels that WinTV was able to sniff out -- But I then realized that I was unprepared to do the actual mapping between EPG (SchedulesDirect) and the scanned channels so I cancelled out and didn't save the configuration change.

The various posts (& wiki) are getting me totally confused about the mapping process -- Mostly because everyone is throwing out terms left and right that most of us "digitally ignorant" folks can't grasp. As best as I can understand it the steps seem to be:

a) If the channels don't have any digital signatures embedded in the data stream, GBPVR has to end up identifying it with a made-up place-holder.

b) You need to go through and manually map between the EPG channel names and pick the corresponding scanned channel -- GBPVR gives you a preview window to help out but you are pretty much on your own.

So my questions are (at long last):

1) Can I defer this mapping until AFTER I have done the basic configuration? I aborted out initially because I was afraid to map channels and only then find out that I was wrong and have to start over again from scratch. I know I won't have EPG support until I do the mapping but can be done at a later date without starting over?

2) It looks like it might take me a good couple of hours to walk through each channel, watch it for a while, and then figure out which channel it actually is -- especially since some of the channels are HD and others are SD (even I start using the alphabet soup). Any way I can take a break and then come back to it after only mapping/naming a portion of the files?

3) Any way I can simply hand edit the files after the fact and then import them? I saw discussions of some stuff in the qam.ini files and other things requiring editing in the sql database (for those intrepid soles). I didn't see enough info to make me comfortable that I wouldn't end up trashing GBPVR and have to reload.

I have MPAA appear after the Plot, but it tends to be right up against the Plot. I'd like to have 1 line of spacing between Plot and MPAA. Can we get a separator field or do I have to manually put a line at the end of every Plot?

I am trying to install Comskip. So far, I've got it running but when it processes a file I get thousands of error messages in the log file with the message

"faac: codec init failed."

I killed the program when the log file got to 300KB or so.

I found on SourceForge where I can download the source for faac but not a compiled executable (because of patent reasons).

Can anyone tell me how to either get the faac codec or have Comskip run with another codec.

Any images (photos or album art) I display in MLPanel on a widescreen TV via an MVP (running mvpmc 05-04-2008) are stretched horizontally.

I think I've got the MVP set up correctly since live TV aspect ratio behaviour is correct and Picture Library displays the same photos correctly.

MLPanel also displays images correctly on a widescreen laptop client.

Do I need to do some fiddling about in MLPanel when I'm building my render list, or have I just missed something in the MVP/Widescreen setup.

I stumbled across the IEpgSource thingy. Is that the right place?

GP-PVR crashes every night. This started when I upgrated to 1.3.7.

Any idea what causes this? Logs are attached.

first of all I have to say that this program rocks. I haven't been watching "real time" TV for quite some time (only recordings) and I am not up to date about the commercials at all (skip, skip, skip) .

What I like is the multi tuner ability (I have a PVR500) and I also like DVB-C (I also have a 1200 DVB-C). So far, so good, but I like to further improve my system. Therefore I was looking for a dual tuner DVB-C card and I found the Hauppauge HVR-2250.

Now comes my question. This card is not intended for the german market (info from Hauppauge). Does anybody know if the technical specifications of this card are also good for german broadcasting? I know there are different connectors but this can be solved. I cannot find any specification about the frequencies and the clear QAM of this card. I'm an absolute beginner in this field.

I'm frequently in the states for business so purchasing is not the problem. I just don't want to spend 140$ and one day of trying for nothing.
