Been using GB PVR for a while and been working fine, records two channels at same time and its workign with the Hauppauge NOVA-DT Dual DVB-T Tuner PCI
Just recently I found it would get stuck in recording and it would look like its still recording yet nothign adding to the file size. Often I will check the video file and its 0 bytes and need to restart the recording service.. Its also strange as the main problem seems to be after 10pm UK time...
I have included the log from a time I know it had a problem... and only recorded 0 byte file...
This system has two 1250 tuners. I think the problem was due to the installation of each tuner as "unit 1."
My mistake was caused by a lack of understanding of the meaning of the unit number. It was not clear to me whether the unit number referred to all the tuners on one card (ie., 2250 would have units 1 & 2), or of the number of units of a type of card, or of all the tuners in the machine. I think this last meaning is the correct one.
I suggest a little verbiage be added to the docs.

I bought a Hauppauge 2250 MCE-Kit from Newegg and I am trying to get the Ir Blasters to work with my STB(dishnetwork 301).On the capture sources tab of GBPVR,I set the channel changer to MCE 2005 Blaster Plugin then I tried using the BlasterCrg program included with Wintv but it says "no Ir Blaster HDware" in the lower right corner and all the buttons are greyed out.I tried the "Ir Blaster Config" program included with WinTv but it pops up a window saying "could not find hardware" and all it's buttons are greyed out.
I then tried setting the channel changer to .exe plugin and I tried following the instruction in http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...downloaded the Ir Server Suite software.It work about 50% of the time for controling PVRX2 but will not work at all on the STB
I had HIP loaded at one time but after I installed Ir Server Suite,the program won't run anymore
I tried loading the replacement driver for the MCE remote and setting up eventhost but I found the Wiki lacking somewhat in it's instructions
I tried setting up the card with Media Center but it wouldn't recognize the card.
Am i missing drivers?
On the device manager tab,in USB,I do not see an MCE remote but I have eHome Infrared Receiver

I have working on this on and off for a week now so willing to try about anything at this point
I've been trying to get another tv card running and in the process lost the menu of completed recordings. The files of recorded shows are still in their directory, but, not listed under the ready list. I get the message no shows are ready to watch. I know there are around 12 there.
Is there a way to recreate that list?
Or, is there an application that will play the shows using the comskip files that were created?
I'm cleaning out my closet and selling a bunch of things locally but found an old 350 laying around. It was working when I removed it about 18 months ago or so.
I'm not asking any money but figured I'd give it away for whatever it costs to ship UPS (I have an office UPS account) so I guess $8 or so to ship to the states depending on where you live from me (just outside New Orleans).

My lineups for my PVR500 card suddenly stopped working (but strangely, my lineup for DTV which is registered under the same account still works). All the guide shows for those channels is "No show details" or something like that.
Also - the "Search Guide" functionality still seems to work. I can look at a particular show, see its information and schedule it to record. Not sure why the normal program guide doesn't work. Recurring recordings don't work either.

and I indeed get a test.txt file filled with valid, current program data. Is there any way to look at the raw xml program data that GBPVR has downloaded? Where does that exist?

I have a Haupage HVR-1600, which works with the WinTV software, although I cannot say I am impressed with the video quality. It is considerably blurrier than my TV.
So I thought I would try gbpvr and see if I cound improve the video quality, but I can't get it to work. When I run PVRX2 and click on live TV, the screen turns blank for a couple of seconds and that is it. Nothing locks up. BTW I can play mpegs and avi's with the PVRX2 software.
I have my DirectTV box transmitting on channel 3 into the "analog in" on the HVR-1600. In the configuration utility it detcts the Hauppauge HVR-1600, and I have the source set to Fixed-Channel, External Tuner; Tuning to Cable and Fixed channel to 3. I added a channel 3(although this was glossed over in the wiki). I have a Gforce 7900GS video card.
OK, Frys had a sale on an LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD/DVD/DV burner for $89. So I sprung on it. Also got a DVI to HDMI cable so I can see HD in all it's wonderful glory.
So, I install the drive, load all the software, bring it down to the TV, and when I tried to play an HD-DVD movie I also picked up, I got an error about HDCP. Well, the video card was a 7900GS, and I don't think it supports HDCP, so I swapped with the 9600GT in my main machine, fired it up, loaded the latest drivers, and was actually able to WATCH HD - notice I said WATCH! After I installed the latest drivers, nVidia decided since I had an HDMI connection, it wanted to transfer audio through that device, and since DVI doesn't support audio, I now have no audio!! How can I tell the driver that I DON'T WANT AUDIO via the DVU-HDMI cable, and to start letting the audio port on the back of the motherboard output audio??
I ran across this hack (can't believe it's not just a simple switch in the software), but I thought I'd post to see if someone else has a more sane way of accomplishing this.

There's a way you can configure the NVidia driver (prior to installing it) to override/ignore that it 'discovers' an HDMI connection, and thus NOT send the digital audio signal through the DVI connector (obviously requires that you can and DO use an external analog audio cable). This solves the problem for those of us with [COLOR=green! important][COLOR=green! important]HDTV's[/COLOR][/COLOR] that auto-sense HDMI/analog audio (mine's an Olevia 237T) and have nVidia graphics (mine's an HTPC based on a 7100/630i motherboard w/integrated graphics). I found this originally at http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?s...=&#entry330319 - although it was being used for a different purpose - but I can certainly vouch that it works!
Here are the steps in full (rewritten by me)... You need to have your PC hooked up to your TV, so the EDID discoverer can get your display's ID code:
1. Get Phoenix EDID Designer, (http://www.tucows.com/preview/329441), [COLOR=green! important][COLOR=green! important]unzip[/COLOR][/COLOR] and run the exe (no install reqd)
2. Click Tools->Extract registry EDID, then double click the line for your TV/monitor in the popup
3. Click Tools->Byte viewer, and note down the values in row 00, columns 08-0B (4 bytes)
4. Start the installation of the latest Nvidia drivers and cancel out once the files are extracted
6. Open the file "nv_disp.inf" in a text editor. By default for the current drivers this is in C:\NVIDIA\...\169.21
7. Scroll down to the section [nv_SoftwareDeviceSettings], add the following line there, replacing the "XX" values below with the 4 values noted in step 3:
(In my case the TV code was SYN 0043, the four values being: 4F,2E,43,00 )
4. Uninstall your current drivers and reboot
5. Install the modified drivers by running the previously extracted setup.exe. By default for the current drivers, this is in C:\NVIDIA\...\169.21. You'll get a warning about the driver not being signed because of the modified inf. Just press OK.
Reboot, and you should have GLORIOUS AUDIO!!!

I have installed GBPVR on an old laptop with a 40 GB hard drive. It has Windows XP Home upgraded to SP3. This is a new installation this week, and is my first attempt at this.
I am using a WinTV-PVR-USB2 tuner with a MediaMVP for access to my TV. The MediaMVP is ethernet connected to my wireless router and my GBPVR server laptop talks to the router wirelessly.
Everything works great as far as TV viewing, recording, schedules, etc.
My problem lies with accessing music, picture and video files that are on my main laptop (not on the GBPVR server) via my network.
I am avoiding keeping my 10 GB of music files on my GBPVR server, since it has only 25 GB of free space for video recording, so I am attempting to access these remotely across the network.
I have defined these directories in GBPVR config and everything works great when I access the network directories using PVRX2. But, when I use the MediaMVP to select the network directory, and click OK, the screen just blinks and fails to open the directory.
As I say, I can successfully play music and videos and display pictures from the network drive using PVRX2, which would indicate that all my permissions and network configuration are set correctly.
Also, when I define directories on the GBPVR server, I can successfully navigate local directories and launch pictures and music from the local machine using the MediaMVP.
So it seems that the Open Directory request from the MediaMVP seems to fail when the directory is on a network drive.
