thanks to the excellent forum response got my hvr-1300 working well with gbpvr - now i've started digging:

audio delay on live tv, i know it will always be there but is there any way to minimise the delay when using a video input to the capture card and audio thru the soundcard?

the displayed picture appears to be made up of lots of horizontal lines, are there any settings that will improve this?

i currently have one agp card driving 2 monitors with the pvr on the primary, i have a spare pci video card of similar spec to the agp one, would it be better going for a video card for each monitor? if so, would the pvr be ok on the secondary display?

I've been trying to get the FireFly remote basic functions to respond like (Forward, Rewind, Pause, etc..) when playing a recorded video. Most all other FireFly navigations appear to work with GBPVR version 1.3.7. I have included a zip file of the current global.xml and GBPVR.xml I am currently using in the above post. Keep in mind, I'm not a coder so all the internals are very complicated for me.

If you can point me in right track to fix this problem or if you are aware of a global.xml and gbpvr.xml files that will work with the FireFly remote when viewing recorded video or any other files I may need that would be helpful.

It would be great if someone already had a GBPVR.xml file for the FireFly remote that all the remote buttons work GBPVR version 1.3.7

Recently, I switched from Yapi2xml to Schedules Direct. In doing so, I nuked the db3 file and reinstalled the tuners from scratch.

When I was using Yapi2xml, it had the habit of getting stuck, and therefore preventing hibernation, completely separate from the VMR9 FSE problem. This is how I've come to notice Yapi2xml popping up in the process manager.

Something is still invoking Yapi2xml as a scheduled task, run under "system". What is causing this, and how can it be rooted out?

After a thanksgiving holiday of frustration, I believe I have figured out why some people (including myself) are have problems viewing the network shares on a XP box.

It lies withing the local security policy on the XP box. Go to start->run->secpol.msc to open up the local security policy and below I have created a word document showing you which policies need to be edited.

A couple of other things that need to be done is the telnet service needs to be running as well on the XP box and not only the sharing permissions need to set for the guest user but on the security tab when you are in the folder properties add the guest user as well. I hope that this may shed some light because it has with me.

I put together a new server about a week ago with a Nova-T 500. I installed 1.2.13 (so I could get the first mux tuned in), then upgraded to 1.3.7. It has been working fine until this afternoon, when if failed to start a scheduled recording. I found this in the logs

OK, so I'm going to start making my pc boot into gbpvr, I know some people have changed windows boot screens before, and I just wanted to know if anyone had some good gbpvr boot screens (and how to impliment them (linky is good enough)) also looking for good startup and shutdown sounds.

This is a fun one and all ideas are welcome, show me what you got!

i was on the lookout for somthing other than win tv when i found gbpvr which appears to be far better but i am struggling to set it up.

i installed v1.3.7 and have the hvr-1300 card. i would only really like to see the video input of the card rather than the analogue or digital.

i have followed the on site manual but i am not sure what i doing wrong - when i select live tv it blips very quickly but remains at the live tv option (no screen appears)

i also did the mux check and i dont have any even thou runmning xp sp3.

its probably somthing really basic i've missed but any help would be most appreciated.

After rebooting my WinXP running GBpvr 1.3.7, I can only tune, watch, or record the QAM (BDA) channels if I first startup and run Aver MediaCenter. Is there a way around this manual step. I have my system scheduled to reboot weekly and it would be nice if I could run a batch program to get the drivers for the M780 fired up correctly.

I upgraded from an older version of GB PVR to 1.3.7.

I can record but when I try live tv the program crashes immediately or if I try while recording I am offered the opportunity of watching the program being recorded and if I select this option the program crashes.

Your assistance would be appreciated.
