New to GB. Installation worked great. Everything appears to be working except changing channels. I have a USB UIRT. I know it works because Windows Media Center, SageTV and BTV all use it just fine.
I don't see my set top box in the device list for USB UIRT. I have a Motorola QIP 2500. Can anyone tell me where I can get the DAT file? I assume I would simply copy it into the directory then use the config program to select it?
Just had a show in GB PVR and paused for about 45 minutes with the idea to unpause and watch and fast forward through the adverts.
But... it all went horribly wrong, the triangular shaped marker disappeared from the currently shifting show and the whole seek bar messed up so I lost everything.
Then I had the bright idea that I could quickly copy the file from the time-shift directory before GB PVR deletes it...
well, I was too late, just as I got to the directory it vanished and as you know does not go to the recycle bin the be retreived.
My question is - is there a way to put a delay on the deletion time of a time shift (which although is saving the show is techinically not a recording) so that it gives us time to at least locate the file and copy it somewhere is playback of timeshifting goes wrong?
Today a recorded episode transcoded to xvid, but ended due to full disk so the xvid transcode didn't finish. The mpg was deleted though and left an unplayable xvid. I could fix it using divfix but the end was off course not there.
I now wonder if this can be fixed or if I missed some configuration, so if some error like this leaves the mpg and deletes the xvid instead, maybe even a function that can email or something to let the user know.
I was lucky that I already seen this episode so now real worry... this time :p
During the capture card I checked "only show devices detected on this machine" It found a Hauppauge HVR 2200. My card is a HVR 2250. If I select the HVR 2200 Will it act the same as if it would have been an HVR 2250?
I've got the server to hibernate after 15 minutes of idle. That works fine. What happens though, on a semi-regular basis, is that the server goes to sleep even when the GBPVR client is playing back a recording. I assume the playback generates such little activity on the server that it thinks nothing is happening, so it goes to sleep. But how do I change this "level of activity before going to sleep"?
For the main part I use Radio Times for my freeview XML guide data, but I also have a few French channels via DVB-S that come from some french tv guide web site.
The French website can be a bit flakey and sometimes produces an empty xml tv guide file. My update epg batch file grabs the data then copies the new data over the top of the old data.
I want to stop the final copy if the filesize is less than say 20kb, because this means there is no guide data in the file and I end up with no EPG data and I'd rather have the previous days download in the guide than nothing at all.
Forgive me if I'm being an idiot here, but I'm not entirely sure what this is supposed to do or whether I'm using it correctly.
I pointed the metadata grabber at a directory in my video library containing episodes of '30 Rock', the program chuntered away for a long time but I can't find any evidence of it having done anything when I browse the directroy in GBPVR.
Do I need to format my filenames in a particular way, or tell the program what the format is?
Currently they are all formatted like: 30 Rock 104 Jack The Writer.avi
