1.3.7, XPXP3, Asus M3A78EMH mobo, dual core. Something is interfering with the machine entering hibernation some of the time. It may be associated with running PVRX2, and actually watching a recording, which must set a flag to prevent hibernation. After watching the program, the flag should be reset to enable hibernation, but this may not happen.
However, the machine always wakes up successfully. No failures there.
I understand that hibernate bugs are usually not "real", but I've observed another anomaly that suggests this one might be. Upon exiting PVRX2, the desktop is frequently not refreshed properly. Since both this and the hibernate behavior would be explained by problems with the exit code, this makes me think some objects are not being finalized. This was definitely not extant here with the last release I used (two releases before 1.3.7.)
I had set it to record grey's anatomy. Has worked up till now.

OK - I ran hcwclear.exe, removed everything, removed GBPVR, rebooted, installed the drivers (ONLY - no WinTV) off the latest download. Installed GBPVR, setting up capture sources. So far I have added two, named 2250HD-1 and 2250HD-2. The first source is set to Device Number 1, and the second set to Device Numver 2. On both the device type is HVR-2250(QAM). On both the Recording Source is Digital Recording Plugin. I pointed the XMLTV Plugin at my tvguide, and updated the EPG.
Am I set up OK so far? I have TWICE had the Recording Source to just change to BDA Recording Plugin for no reason I can find!
I was using this software on xp machine at was working like charm. Now I have decided to install it on vista and problems started. I use AZUREWAVE usb tv tuner and have no problems with scanning channels. All comes up fine and EPG data seems to download properly as well.
But when I open PVRX2 and go to TV guide it gets stuck and nothing loads. After good minute of thinking it just returns to main menu window.
If I choosee option "search guide" there's nothing in it too.
What's it supposed to do? I run it, and it says Channel found, then something about after watching it long enough to identify the channel, make a note of the channel name and number - where am I supposed to watch it?? There is no video window I can find!
In this modern age of beautiful hdtv's and XBMC, I can't help but wonder why I'm not seeing hi-res Icons on my beloved gb-pvr.
Really, it looks childish and unprofessional... The problem is I'm torn between xbmc (with it's great theme engine) Mediaportal (with it's great plugins) and gb-pvr (with it's solid tv tuning funtionality)
It's hard to juggle these programs though and I would love to ditch mediaportal and it's bloated mess of a tv-server for gb-pvr.
I have this installed on 2 computers currently and it constantly freezes or crashes on both. One example is when I try to change the skin. It also sometimes freezes when trying to play video. Any input on what I may be doing wrong is appreciated.
I am having an odd issue right now in which I think GBPVR is playing my transcoded files in .MP4 format instead of the regular recording when selecting a recording from the menu. When ever I select a recording, the menu just flashes and does nothing. On one of my MVPs when I select a recording I have to wait longer than usual then it eventually starts but the quality is bad.
I did recently enable automatic transcoding for all of my recordings in PSP format. I manually changed the setting in the config file so the orignal name is kept so not sure if that is what is causing the issue. Seems to me that the GBPVR database would point to the original recording and not the converted file.
What is weird is that happens with most records but one record (The Young and Restless) plays just fine and I see that the converted files exist for this show. Of course the wife's show works fine... Criminal Minds is an example of a show that does not play properly.
