The kids have just found Pop and Tiny Pop on the sky box, and as it's available on FreeSat thought I would add the channels.

However they are very pixelated and therefore unwatchable. This also happens through DVB Dream, so I am assuming this isnt a GBPVR issue.

Any ideas?

I am using GBPVR with Freeview HD (New Zealand), and can get stable operation with the PowerDVD 8 H264 codec. However that codec doesn't provide smooth playback on TV3 and often all other interlaced channels.

This has lead me to try using CoreAVC (v1.8.5). The problem is that this codec crashes often, especially when changing channels and seeking within a stream.

I have used GraphEdit to check the graphs being used, and can reproduce the instability and crashes when building a graph using the MPEG 2 Demultiplexer filter. However if I use the Arcsoft MPEG Demux then I do not have any problems. (as such I am currently using Media Player Classic to watch my recorded TV).

I spotted a promising option within the Config.xml (the preferred MPEG demux option), however this option doesn't change the filter that GBPVR loads when reading a TS file. I believe if I were able to force GBPVR to use the Arcsoft demux my problems would be solved...

Please note, if there is no way to force this filter with the current release, then I'm quite happy to wait for the next release

PS. Just remembered, I have also noticed that TV3's AC3 soundtrack plays at 1/2 speed with the builtin (GBPVR) TS reader. This only happens with AC3, and the decoder chosen doesn't change the result. If you need more info about this, I'm happy to do some investigating...

Been lurking here for a while, gathering info. I finally got around to building my htpc (cobbled together from spare parts) and It's going well so far. There are just two things that I am having issues with, I was wondering if you guys knew any quick fixes.

The first problem is video jumping when watching live TV. No tearing, or artifacts. Just jumping video, kind of like a shaky camcorder. It seems kind of like system lag, but here is the weird thing. It only does it when I am watching live TV.

If I pause it and then hit play (effectively putting it in a buffer/cache mode), everything works fine and smooth. The really odd thing is, you would think that this would be more system intensive, since it is encoding, recording and playing back all at the same time. Any ideas?

**EDIT: Never mind on problem #2, solved the schedule problem (I hope....)**

In case it helps, here are my system specs:
Amd 2100+
Shuttle sn41g
1 gig of duel channel DDR
Hauppauge HVR-1600 (PCI)
Radeon X1600 pro (512 megs)
200 gigs of storage (80 and 120 gig hard drives)

I plan on upgrading to a the spare 3000+ and 2 gigs of ram, with 4 160 gig sata drives that I have sitting around, as soon as I find a socket 939 mobo somewhere.

I did install the GBPVR with the instalation script what is new provided. I can access the Webbrowser and i can go also to the PC internal Shared Default Folder C:\ from the A110.
I did add additional folders Video, Musik and Foto in the config of GBPVR but browsing them from the A110 i can see the new Folders but have no access to them. Internal at PC is no problem to open them. How to solve for a beginner?

I have looked through the keyboard reference, and can't find what key is used for returning to Live TV after pausing or pausing and then playing. Is it F2?

I'm trying to customize my config file for Intelliremote (I can't believe how many buttons on the MCE clone I got with my HVR2250 that are not in the config file! If anyone has used this program and think they have a pretty good config to use all the buttons on this remote, I'd like to see it if I could. Maybe they could start a sticky thread for remote control configurations?

Just upgraded and multi-mux recording worked brilliantly well.

However, I do have a problem with either playback of a recording or of live TV (the consequences are much worse).

Stopping viewing by either right-clicking, click on "X" osd brings up a windows crash message 50% of the time. (See below). This isn't too bad if watching a recoding, but if watching live TV, it leaves the recording service attached to that tuner/channel and a restart recording service is needed.

I can't see anything untowards in the logs files (probably as windows kicked it out).

I've tried with the M/S kbase patch, but no different. quartz windowsxp-kb919071-x86-enu.exe

Not too much of a panic, as I generally don't use the server, but was checking it out after the upgrade.

p.s. also similar reports in windows logs about crashes when mapping channels - not the scanning, but after clicking OK after I have mapped them.
restarting config shows that the mappings have been applied though.

I have a Hauppauge HVR-2250 and am trying to record from the two s-video inputs using GBPVR v1.3.7 under XP. I can successfully access the s-video input (s-video1) mounted on the main board. However, I cannot configure GBPVR to get the correct audio for the second s-video input (s-video2) mounted on the external connector board. GBPVR will get the video (but not the audio) for the s-video2 input even experimenting with all the various svideo and composite capture sources available to the config tool.

Note that some config settings will output the audio from the s-video1 input to s-video2, but no settings access the audio from s-video2. I currently have the external connector board connected into the motherboard connector closest to the main board mounting bracket, but also tried the other motherboard connector unsuccessfully. I am able to access both s-video inputs using Hauppauge’s WinTV application, but prefer to use GBPVR.

A zip of my log and ini files is attached and I would appreciate any suggestions on how to access the s-video2 video and audio for recording.

On another note, my recording rates are way below the 12000 CBR specified for the HVR-2250’s hardware encoder at http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/su...intv6.html. Bitrate Viewer shows a nominal bitrate of 6000 VBR even recording in GBPVR with a custom setting set to 12000 CBR. I’ve seen another user question the maximum bitrate for the 2250 so this may not be an issue with GBPVR. Can anyone suggest config settings in GBPVR to maximize CBR and VBR output for the 2250?

I was having some problems with a plugin (Gamezone), I tried multiple times to uninstall and reinstall it. After being totally frustrated, I decided to do a clean install of GBPVR. I backed up my devnz directory and tried a repair, but that failed, so I uninstalled. I made sure the devnz directory was clear, and I tried to do a reinstall, but it keeps failing at the module installs. I know there is an install log somewhere, but I can't find it. I'd rather not do a full XP reinstall, but that is always an option. Thanks.
