Just started using GBPVR and it looks great.

However, I started recording a program while I was watching it, left 'Live TV' then tried to return to live TV but got a message saying I couldn't watch live TV but I could watch what was recording. That would have been fine but the recording started from the start, not the current, live position. There doesn't appear to be any way of watching live TV after a recording is started. No doubt I have done something wrong.
Hope someone can enlighten me.

Getting the occasional what looks like a failure in the initial request to record - this creates a 0 byte files, but then a subsequent (automatic) recording starts with a -1.ts and seems to record.

But for some reason the DB doesn't seem to know about this second file.

Is there any check at the end of the recording request to say is there a .ts file? no, is there a -1.ts? no is there a -2.ts no then fail?

I am using 1.3.7 and skin plugin any help appreciated

I just keep getting core dump when I try to slect skins form the main menu. If I select blue from config I get a message "must use community 3 skins". Has anybody experienced this problem? Is it possible that 1.3.7 is too new for this plugin?

Was thinking of getting one but see some people are having problems with buttons that dont work in GBPVR... 2 questions...

1) Is this remote worth getting

2) If some buttons dont work straight away in GBPVR - can they be key-press mapped in something like HIP?

With the release of the new installer I have finally compressed telnet and the gbpvr script into one script. I think I can deal with all problems now and the debugging requirements are greatly resolved by the installer.

However there are changes as you undo and unlearn what you did up to now. These new scripts are not available for download, they are created by the install program. Before creating them make backups of what you have working today.

Make sure you backup startmeup It will be overwritten and you probably want to replace it afterward.

Then run the installer, unselect everything and then select "Write PCH Scripts" It will create the required files GB-PVR.html, gbpvr.cgi browser.cgi and usb_a.cgi If you aren't using a guest mvpmc share you need to go back and edit gbpvr.cgi

Once it is installed you can remove lines from GB-PVR.html that you don't use. Remember to not use notepad or wordpad. You can also re-add any required configurations for DVD, share access etc.

Today I realised that something had changed in the EWA, I'm not sure it happened in this version but that's not important.
Long time ago (on my request) you implemented the feature that when you go ahead in time (to the right) the guide would stick to the same channels i stead of going back to the top of the page.
That feature seems to be gone now. Is this by accident or ................

Hi all.

I got a cheapo Chinese USB freeview (UK) tuner for £10 off Ebay. Was not expecting much but it works great!

Having trouble using the remote for anything else except the aweful Blaze software.

Have tried HID and a few others but cant seem to map all the keys on the remote.

Have not set up a remote in GB PVR config as I have no idea what I have got. Tried some combinations but nothing seems to work.
The wierd thing is that the number buttons work fine in GB PVR without me even selecting a remote to use in the config.

Anyway, the generic cheapo remote looks just like this one except mine has got 2 more buttons on it...



Anyone know if this thing even has a name and can be supported by any key-press software?

The actual USB receiver is listed as 'e3c' and shows up fine in GB PVR - its just the remote I want to tweak and get working.

I wrote a basic installer for GBPVR and the PCH and I thought it might be of general interest too. It takes a new user from no installation to a working solution in 5 - 15 minutes with one install. If you don't use an NMT just don't install the NMT component. The installer is partially MVP aware too, if you enter a Hauappauge MAC address.

I'd like comments on how this can be improved for distributing more things too. I'd like to add more skins and plugins over time, but I'm worried about people downloading everything and being overwhelmed.

This installer will not fix situations where GBPVR won't install and it doesn't install the codecs drivers etc that the PC needs (and that the PCH doesn't!)
