Hi there, was wondering if there is a way to restart the recording service of a single tuner, i have multiple tuners, and occasionally i want to restart the service for a single tuner, but if i use the restart recording services it applies to all tuners.

Anyone know if this is possible, or if anyone has done anything like it before, if not I'd be happy to code it myself, but a little help on where to start would be great thanks in advance for any help

Will I be able to use my PVR 250 when the US goes digital? I am using Comcast currently. They say that as long as I have cable, I will not need a converter box or a digital box. Will my PVR still work if it is directly connected to the cable coming into the house?

So over the weekend after adding a HVR1800 to my PVR PC and after watching TV for a while the picture freezes and the sound as well, then like two to three seconds later my pc reboots. I have checked the event viewer but don't seem to see anything out of the ordinary. Not sure if it is being caused by the system overheating or what.

I just took out 5 HDD from my PC that were loaded with movies and added 1TB. My moviewiz db points to all those old discs. Whats the best way to fix this?

I'm noticing that sometimes in my recordings, the top half of the picture is slightly off from the bottom half of the picture. It's like it got cut in half and one half offset by a tiny amount to the right or left. It seems to happen mostly with scenes involving a lot of motion.

Is there a way around this? I saw something about FSE, but I'm not even sure what that is, or why I would want to use it.

It's not horribly annoying, but it makes me feel like I'm watching a VHS tape or something.

Every time I load the EPG from the conf program, it loads all the channels. I delete the ones I dont want, then reload again and it brings them all back.
How do I stop this from happening? I just want a short list of channels in my guide. Thanks

Do I need a hard drive in the PCH to be able to use MVPCX2?

I had a problem with this before and thought it had gone away, but I’m pretty sure now that my moviewiz isn’t correctly saving all the movie images in the db. I’ve selected the option in the manager settings to do so, and on adding any files I’ve clicked save on each entry manually too.

However, it still seems to be the case that some, if not all, images that are found automatically (from IMDB, Yahoo etc) are being re-looked up each time. This manifests itself in v slow scrolling between entries in the plugin itself, presumably as it is looking up the logo again from the internet each time (which takes 10-15 secs per entry usually)

For many of my files I’ve downloaded the logo manually and this local lookup is working fine and I can scroll through these entries v quickly as you’d expect.

Any ideas Javawiz or anyone else seeing this behaviour? Let me know if you would like logs and if so what actions I should perform before creating these. Thanks

I have been looking at the option to do away with my MVP and go to a PC setup, and have been drawn to the thin client options and many questions.
Some people on the MythTV forums praise these units because some only have flash memory, no moving parts, no noise and are very small. But when moving to the realm of thin clients questions such as how fast does the proc speed need to be, what are the other hardware recommendations/minimums needed, what kind of cardbus or usb TV out device can be used (and well supported!) with gbpvr come to mind and I haven't a clue.
I do have a SFF IBM computer I can turn into a client but that would add to the cluttered AV area under my TV plus the extra heat and noise (not that the SFF makes a lot of noise).

Any words of wisdom about this?

I have reinstalled windows after tvpack messed up my hvr-4000 and I have everything up and running again with a new HVR-2200 except I cannot for the life of me get Hardware acceleration working again.

I am using PowerDVD 8 for H264. I have usepowerDVDforTS enabled and haved ticked Use DxVA, but it will not work for either live TV or recorded TV. If I playback a TV3 TS file directly in PDVD8 it uses acceleration and CPU usage is arounf 5%, but under GBPVR it sits at around 60%.
