I have been playing with GBPVR with a 40gb Western Digital EIDE drive and all has worked fine. I've formatted the drive and installed Windows Vista Ultimate a few times as I've been playing and I've never failed to get GBPVR up and running.
Tonight my Seagate 750gb SATAII replacement drive arrived and I installed it and loaded Vista Ultimate on it. Everything went fine and Internet Explorer, Media Player, and Media Center all seem to work fine. I've not installed anything else - no firewall, no virus protection, etc.. Just a clean bare install.
I loaded up GBPVR and when I hit Live TV it tries to ge to it - I get a black screen for a few seconds and then it just exits back to the main menu.
I tried to reload windows again and then reloaded GBPVR again and got the exact same result.
The only difference in the system is the swap of a 40gb Western Digital EIDE drive for a Seagate 750gb SATA II drive . . . could the Sata drive or drivers be a problem? Any suggestions where to start?
Does anyone have an aspect setting to correctly zoom in to a HD program through an analog source. IE the show is in a 16X9 ratio but it is set to fit inside of a 4X3 screen. I am using the microsoft codec for mpeg2 as it is the only one I could get to reliably work with Microsoft BDA filter for a MUX. Aldo does anyone know how to stop 4X3 recordings from filling the screen if the aspect ratio is set to default.
What I would like automatically is
16X9 720P/1080I content to fill the screen.
4X3 content to have the bars on both sides
16X9 within a 4X3 (letterboxed) to zoom and fill the whole screen ( i Know it won't look as good)
I understand that MovieWiz searches tvdb (even though that's currently broken) for info if it finds TV shows. I'm just curious, what's MovieWiz's behavior if it finds full TV DVD ISO rips?
The code to create a jpg from the GetRenderList works fine with Music Library, ML2, Net Radio and DVB-T Radio on the dev laptop. On the MVP it works fine with Music Library and ML2, but crashes the MVP when I run Net Radio or DVB-T Radio with this error

I'm having trouble figuring out what type of thing causes this error. I thought it might be something to do with one of the rendered layers, but I'm really just hoping that I've done something daft...
I haven't recorded anything since the Olympics, but now that new season are starting, I was trying to setup some recordings. However, the EPG is showing up blank with "no show details" for every time slot. When I force an update, the log looks fine, but still no details. Any idea?
This window shows a progress meter among other things. The progress meter first increases to its max, then drops to its min value; and this cycle repeats 3 times. Then the config utility appears. This is very very irritating. I have removed the GB-PVR application and then re-installed it but it made no difference.
Works all fine, but now I have some DivX Files and they have 2 Audio Tracks.
On PVRX2 I can switch the Tracks with STRG-G (Morgan Switcher is installed)
but on my MVP, I can´t switch between the Tracks.
Press the Color-Buttons on my Remotecontrol doesn´t help.
Is there a way to select the track on my MVP?

I am building an Optiplex GX280 for a friend. It's a fresh install of Windows XP, all updated and GBPVR prereq's installed. It's a P4 3.4Ghz with 2GB RAM. I'm familiar with the capacitor issues these optiplexes have had, but the tops of all the caps in this machine appear to be dead flat and the symptoms aren't consistent with that problem (I suspect that rules bad caps out, but admittedly, you never know). Berfore putting the 9600 in, while doing all the updates and installations etc along with many restarts, it was running perfectly.
I was at the point where GBPVR was installed and runs, but I was having trouble getting the TV picture working nicely / at all. Not too concerned about that yet - I think that's just a matter of playing with mux's and settings etc.. I know that part of things is often a bit tricky (although I did expect to have fewer problems than I did on my own PC, but, oh well ).
The plan was always to get a better graphics card with the thought that graphics performance wouldn't be a problem after it was installed and software was tweaked, and that it might even make all the above problems magically go away. The idea is that with the better graphics component than the integrated one, it will play movies, TV, photos and music etc without missing a beat. I still think (hope) that is the case, BUT...
I just put a new Gigabyte NX96T512HP (a 9600GT) into it. It now blue screens pretty reliably the first time I boot it up after the AC power has been disconnected for a while. It then restarts and the system says it can't see the SATA hard drive. Usually the next time I boot it up manually it's fine, though it seems to be getting slightly flakier over time eg. MMC console crashed this time when I went to look in the logs.. Nvidia system tray didn't load..
When the blue screen happens it's too fast to see the text, it just restarts immediately .. is there anything I can do about that?. The only thing in the logs is Event ID 14, Source "nv", Text: "Unknown error on" .. and that's it!
I occasionally hear a slight, quiet squeal which I think is the hard drive (it almost sounds like a muffled, shortened, system speaker beep, it's so quick), so it does kinda look like the drive could be the problem, but it definitely wasn't doing any of this bluescreening rubbish before the 9600 went in. I have downloaded the latest drivers from Nvidia and updated the BIOS.
I have connected the extra power cable supplied with the card ... is it likely to be a power supply problem? I have another hard drive sitting there which I could try instead, so will try that. I wondered if it would be worth rebuilding Windows with the 9600 installed this time, rather than adding it later .. ?
