In my ongoing saga to get GB-PVR QAM running, I've managed to finally get LiveTV working only to find that recordings don't work. I am doing in the clear QAM HD recording. I have disabled UAC (found this workaround in a forums search) and re-installed GB-PVR 1.2.13.

I get very small or 0kb recording files that don't playback. I have tried the ms-dvr, Cyberlink 1307 and 2022 bda muxes without success. The ms-dvr mux typically has two files of 300-400kb in size, and the Cyberlink files are 0kb.
I have attached copies of log files for perusal. Thanks for any suggestions.
I recently formatted my computer and installed v1.2.13 of GBPVR. If I record programs to watch later, they're absolutely perfect. However, when watching live TV, I notice that the video is quite choppy. How can I solve the problem?
I imported a dish xml tv file that's ~170mb using mc2xm (gbpvr.db3 file is ~100mb)l. It seems to make gbpvr crawl at several points in the setup process, but more importantly, everytime I load gbpvr front end, it will take quite some time before the tvguide completely loads. Time to actual watchable content is about 2 minutes.
It seems like the tvguide is loading all days worth of data for 1 channel and then going to the next... Is it possible to load only today's content and go down and then the next days ?? I've used other EPG and gbpvr seems to have the slowest one out there.
Is there some sqlite profiling that can be done here? I'm thinking some changes to the indices might help. Does anyone know what sql is being run behind the scene so that I could tweak the guide myself ?

I was previously getting errors when registering modules.
This error has now gone away, but the install does not finish.... It gets to the end, but then suddenly starts rolling back and then ends with an error - "Installaton ended prematurely because of an error".
I am installing to the default location, and running it as Admin.
Any thoughts ? Others seem to have it up and running with WHS....
PS - just tried GBPVR09905.msi, and it works fine.... ???? Whats changed since then that might break things ? (I'm happy to run with this older version if necessary....but would rather be up to date)
Firstly, thank you for a great utility it has made it relatively easy to get info onto my Alphacool display with regard to recordings.
I would now like to get info on the currently playing media, programme name, duration, current position etc. wheter it be for DVD, recordings, media library or net radio. Is this something that you would consider?
Would it also be possible to retrieve the currently selected menu item from PVRX2?
This happens with the Video Library or Moviewiz. I have a DVD with menu, ripped, so it's not in ISO or whatnot, it's using Video_TS. I can see it and when I play it, it goes to the main menu. From there everything just locks up. ctrl-alt-del shows it as "Not Responding".
It does this each time. The cursor doesn't move, doesn't respond to any key commands or anything. Most of my backups are movie only, but for tv-series, I'd like to keep the menu because it just seems to make more sense for me.
Hi, I am wanting to buy a new tv tuner card for my computer. After installing vista my creative sound card will not play nice with vista but my old leadtek tuner card will not work right with my realtek onboard sound. The sound is ok until I go to record something and then I get no sound playback.
I have been wanting to upgrade to a digital card anyway. I have heard that Happ. has hardware decoding while my old Leadtek is software but I don't know enough to be able to tell by reading descriptions which has which. Here are the two I am looking at as I am trying to keep it under a $100. Could anyone tell me which one of these two are better and why or is there another one I could look at. Overall I have been happy with my leadtek. Thanks
In summary, just trying to have a one keypress solution which sends the machine into standby. Had a brief tryout of the current version of shutdown but it looks like you still need to go into a couple of menu options to achieve this.
I'm really after a one button solution for maximum WAF!
Currently, LiveTV and Videos use the same audio renderer, selected under the playback tab in the config. What I'd like is to use HDMI output for LiveTV and HD output for Videos. LiveTV then works as your normal TV setup would behave, outputting audio through the LCD speakers. Videos, which mostly are divx i.c.w. ac3 would output via s/pdif through a receiver.
Maybe this scenario is already possible, couldn't find how to do this though.

So I did some looking and found that Win XP had disabled the GBpvrrecording service. I set it to auto and then started it... Now I do not get the error BUT the card is in sleep mode?? Hapauge Nova-s plus card. AMD 64X2 5200, 4 gb ram, 3TB HDD, ATI X800 AIW. no diseqc. Not able to scann channels. DVBDream does scan but also will not start the card???
