After a couple of RMA's, it seemed to be working flawlessly. Then this weekend it quit on me. Now I can only get it to record a couple of shows before it quits.
I'm about fed up - I hope I can still get a refund from Hauppauge...
Just in case this is on GBPVR's end (highly doubt it), I've posted the logs:
The latest was a recording of House Hunters which started at 10PM. I came in and noticed the light was out on the unit & the file was not growing any more, so I cancelled and restarted. It recorded for a couple of seconds and then the light went out again...
This is using the version 1.0B driver supplied by Hauppauge after my RMA.
I am unable to Access the Settings Menu in 1.2.13.
When I try to go into the Settings menu all GVRX2 will
do is go back to the Main menu. In Version 1.2.8 that I
was using I had no problems going to the Setting menu
and changing the Set's in GVRX2.
And Also in the TV Guide I am not showing channel numbers any more.
Not sure if this is a wishlist, so much as a question. Will GB-PVR devs have enough information to implement the same in-the-clear QAM tuning method that the upcoming Microsoft TV Pack will have? It seems there's going to be a sea change and widespread support for unencrypted QAM once it's "official" from Microsoft.
Hi all, sorry Iâm all rather new to all of this so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Iâm having issues with my Hauppauge remote when windows XP comes out of hibernation. Iâve had a look through the forums but I canât seem to find anything to help me with this problem. Basically when the system goes to hibernation GB-PVR is open and the remote is working fine, but when it wakes up again the only way to get the remote to work is to restart IR. As I donât want to use a keyboard it sort of defeats the purpose. The cards Iâm using are 2 HVR-4000âs so it has got the IR plug at the back of the card and I have both IR receivers plugged in.
In my quest to actually get a working QAM GB-PVR system, I pulled out an old QAM-capable tuner to test under GB-PVR, the BBTI AirStar-HD5000-PCI (made by Technisat). A quick search of the forum indicates that there was working Technisat DVB-S installations. This card is in the same chipset/tuner family as Technisat's DVB-S cards.
The card works beautifully with the linux-dvb drivers with mythtv for in-the-clear QAM.
As an aside, it has an interesting interface, FlexCop, which mimics a network controller, so it appears as a network card in Device Manager. (Shades of HDHomeRun!) http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/B2C2_FlexCop
I emailed the US tech support today regarding support for in-the-clear QAM with the BDA driver, and they explicitly confirmed support with the BDA driver.
I would like to be able to choose to record all episodes of a show.(obviously i can do this now) However I would like to record it as a low priority. This would be a show that I like to watch but dont care if i miss it, unlike a sitcom, or drama type show. So if a conflict was to come up, either set this show as the show that wont record and choose the other recording, or else just delete this low priority episode from the recording list entirly.
i hope this makes sense. this might be too much work for what it is worth, but I would find it beneficial.
Lastly, It appears to loading the data ok. but weirdly, it's moving the show data forward by 1 hour. AKA ITV 1, News at Ten is being displayed at 11pm. I've tried moving the default offset by -1 hour but no change to the data.
I've check the epg data file, and it's appears to correct. (but I'm not an expert)
