Here is how I installed (first time installation) on pc xp professional....

1. Installed GBPVR....
2. Soon found out that need .NET runtime....
3. Installed .NET runtime
4. Installed GBPVR - reinstall...

On running PVRX2 get the following error message

Error 1904 module c:\program files\devnz\GBPVR\GBPVRWriter.ax failed to register HRESULT -2147010895 Contact your support personnel

When a broadcaster changes the transponder that a channel is broadcast on, it has to send some sort of notification down to the IRD (receiver) so that when the user tries to go to that channel, it goes to the right place.

Does anyone know what that mechanism is, what it looks like, and how we can adapt it to make it such that our channel lists "autoupdate" just like the IRDs does?

In order to just tape what I want to watch (of the Olympics), I have resorted to scheduling multiple manual recordings.

However unlike my 1/2, 1 or 2 hr continous shows, which all record perfectly, I have been getting timeline issues and shortened shows with the multiple manual records. I have no problems with normal recordings.

I attach logs. Is there an underlying problem with this approach?
(note that I think we had a power outage which may have rebooted the PC during those logs).

Hi, I know that you hgave said there is a bug / poor drivers for ATI for H264 hardware decoding which cause green screens.

I notice that when I try to play a couple of channels in GBPVR, I get this (sports extra, C4, TVNZ 6 & 7) and GBPVR reports the video resolution as 1047 x 576.

Is this what causes the problem? (on the PCH, it's reported correctly as 720 x 576) and all of the channels which work are HD resolutions & above.

Would this H264 acceleration bug become better using Vista, or would it be expected to stay the same? (this is a HD3450 PCI-e card)

I am looking for advice.
99% of recordings I make are deleted in a few days - after anybody interested has seen it. But occasionally you want to save it for the future.
For example, a few weeks ago I recorded Tennis Wimbledon Final in HD (1080i). It lasted (with all the rain delays) 7 hours and the file had about 50Gb in dvr-ms format. I cut it down to 2 hours, converted to 720p (that's my TV resolution), but even now in mpg format it takes 12GB of disk space.
I'd like to reduce it further, without reducing resolution or loosing quality and of course I want to watch it using GBPVR.

What format do you use for recordings/movies you want to keep?

Live TV is not working for me. I get no video/sound. Things work fine with the TME software included with the HD-PVR.

I am using GBPVR in xp professional and using the ATI theater remote (not the media center remote).

Before the update....
1. The volume control button from the remote worked
2. Was able to play TV channels from TV GUIDE

I upgraded to 1.2.13 and now the volume control does not work and the TV channels refuse to play from TV GUIDE.

Does anybody have similar issues????

I've been experimenting with pvrx2 in client mode in order to be able to replace my MVP with a laptop PC.

I have (because of the WAF) always preferred the responsiveness of direct file access, as in viewing on the server, compaired to streaming when it comes to seeking (FF/RW) in recorded shows.

The client, in filesharing mode, works very well for all situations except when viewing shows still recording, where it stutters bad.

Since streaming works for viewing recordings in progress I wish for an option to force streaming on 'growing' files to adress the problem of frequent readings of file-end-timestamp over the network (as described somewhere in the support section)

Is it likely to see this option or any other solution to the problem in the near future?

Ireland have recently relaunched their DTT "trials" using MPEG4/H264 for their SD channels. While my setup (vista64, gbpvr 1.2.13, CyberlinkPDVD) plays the HD channels fine (BBC and ITV HD from DVB-S), it used to play the trial Irish DTT HD channel fine (DVB-T) but for the new mpeg4 SD channels I get a green screen with flashes of the real colours every second or so. Oddly the config program preview window in map digital channels plays these channels fine. I've tried changing decoders (CoreAVC did the same), mux, and anything else i could think of but no joy. I also recorded a few mins and played back within PDVD itself and it does the same green thing which given the config window can play it, makes me think there's something wrong with the GBPVR capture or TS handling? Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere but I've not been able to find it! I've attached the pvrx2.exe-native.log in case it's any help.

I dont like the tv software pinnacle gives with their tv sticks. Its slow, the subtitles dont work properly on some channels. (i live in the UK)

Someone recommened me to get GBPVR.

Can anyone tell me if

1. will the subtitles work properly and clearly? (currently some channels dont display it properly whilst some channels do display clearly!) I am deaf therefore subtitles are vital! :-)

2. If i need to uninstall any exisiting tv software e.g. TVpro that came with the pinnacle stick?

3. Will it work with pinnacle tv stick products? I cannot seem to find anything for the pinnacle 330e on the list of compatible tuners.
