I haven't moved over to pvrx yet, and it's because of a few issues. One of them is fixed by Movie Wiz and perhaps by the return of Reven, but another is the DVD ripper plugin. It looks like Sub made the plugin as an example for developers so it's low on his priority list.
One of the problems is that it doesn't rip to ISO mode and it doesn't rip to the proper directory. I think there's a "\" missing in one of the strings as the directory structure is not created properly.
I don't keep up with all posts on the forum, so appologies if already reported.
On GB-PVR Configuration tool "MVP & NMT" Tab Dongle selection it always seems to default to the last entry in the drop down list regardless of currently select dongle. I notice this as I have mvppmc.bin and dongle.bin installed but am choosing to use dongle.bin right now, mvppmc.bin is the second entry and is always selected when you start the config tool.
It's a minor inconveniance, something for a later release perhaps.

Using 1.2.13 and an HVR-1600 for ATSC OTA.. here's what happens.
I'm watching timeshifted TV, and I've selected a mux other than TS (the problem occurs with any mux; cyberlink, ati, dvr-ms).
When I start viewing a program, it creates a .mpg (or .dvr-ms) and everything is fine. The program ends, and a new one begins. When PVRX2 starts a new buffer file for the new program, it ignores the mux choice and uses TS no matter what.
The problem is when you exit live TV, it looks for an .mpg to clean up, but it can't find it since the file was actually a .ts.. and I have to manually go back and delete the files.

(this example is using a cyberlink PP mux, but I had the same symptom with any other cyberlink mux, the ati mux, or dvr-ms)
I know that the list has not been updated in a couple of weeks. I will have an update in the next day or two. I have found that if you browse Instant titles by title on the Netflix website (which is how I create the list), there are some titles not listed that are actually available. I am working on logic to create a more complete list.
Netflix is now offering an RSS feed for new releases to watch instantly, so I will be changing the "New Release" option to use that instead of the DVD new releases feed. They now also offer instant top 50 RSS feeds so I will be updating the plugin to use those instead of the web page. Now if only they would offer an Instant Queue RSS feed.
I just tried upgrading to the latest version of GB-PVR but the installer won't work.
I can click through all the next buttons but when it comes time to actually do anything, the installer just stops and CPU usage goes to 100%.
I traced this back to the file:
"C:\Documents and Settings\My_Username\Local Settings\Temp\MSI*.tmp" (where * is a random combination of numbers/letters which changes each time I run the installer) which is run by parent process msiexec.exe
I tried installing in safe mode but got an error that I didn't have permission to install.
Has anybody thought of the possibility of making some sort of autoit development wrapper? autoit is a scripting language with a huge user base. if this was somehow made and worked well i myself could make a ton of cool plugins.
I am just looking for some sort of system that will tie into the nice GUI that is already available
it all worked when I 1st installed gbpvr, but now when I press the menu buton on my remote nothing happens, I wanted to use the video inset but no luck, I also tried pressing the HOME button with no luck, I also tried CTRL-M but that just brings up the little volume bar on the top of the screen......
When I play some DVDs on my system, I don't get the right audio channels to my speakers. I have standard stereo sound, built in the motherboard (don't have the exact chip type available right now), but it seems like GB-PVR is playing the rear surround tracks to the speakers. In fact, when I play a DVD in VLC, I can select the track manually, and that's what I get when I select Dolby 5.1 output mode (it works fine if I select "stereo"). How can I change this default in GB-PVR? I tried messing with the audio decoder settings, to no avail, but I doubt I went through every option.
Could someone give me some pointers, or a nice step by step in backing up my install (whole system XP,and all programs), i think i want to create a disk image, so all i have to do is burn the dvd, then copy it onto the HDD if i ever want to format and reinstall
