Hi, I'm new here but I'll try to be brief.

Basically I am looking at setting up the HD-PVR with GB-PVR. I have everything set up and I can access the device, but I noticed my video was sluggish, so I checked the CPU usage and it was at 100%. I thought the decoder wasn't using my hardware assist (I have an ATi HD 2400 Pro, using the Cyberlink H.264/AVC Decoder (PDVD8)). But when I exited out of GBPVR, checked all the settings, then went back in, i noticed my CPU immediately spiked to 100%, without any video playing? What gives?

I figure one issue at a time. First I want to figure out why the CPU is at 100% even idle, then I can figure out if DXVA is working. Thanks for any help.

Looking to buy a cheap USB tuner for DVB-T use with a tranquil PC. ANyone know if GBPVR is happy with the cheap ones sold by amazon ?

Where i live comcast has added 2 channels for the olympics, one dedicated to soccer, one to basketball. (this is on the digital side in HD)

When i did a rescan to see if i could get the channels on clear QAm. I was able to find them and the preview window showed me the channel

I then created a channel in and mapped the data to it. Then when i went to the guide and clicked on the channel it crashe PVRX2, and i couldnt get it to work.

Any idea, i dont have my logs right now but if needed will post when i get home tonight

Also is there some reason that you would be able to see a channel in preview when scanning, but not when trying to view live TV?

Im having trouble recording the Olympics (well anything really). I try and record for say 2hrs and it only records for about 3 minutes and then stops. It does this every time. But it says it has recorded for the whole length of the 2hr show but its only around 3 mins.

Anyone know of a solution. Its weird cos I managed to record a doco, when I hit record it asked me if I wanted to record to the end of show and I said yes I that worked fine.

Can it have something to do with the EPG? I dont have a working EPG for Sports Extra.

I'm build a new Server. I'm going to have to renew all the channel names assignments etc because I'd added a new XMLTV source and new tuners.

but I want to transfer the 'reoccurring' tv shows to be moved to the new server. Will I have to directly hack the database or do you have a cunning way of move this data between databases

I've just finished setting up my MediaPC with MediaPortal - i've used MP for ages but never had it 100% setup as i could never get my TV Card working how i wanted too (Damn DVB-C!)

Anyway while looking for fixes for my TV Card i stumbled on to this site and i must admit im quite tempted by what you have to offer.

Id like to get an idea from the users what advantages GBPvr has over MP as if i was to make the switch i need to do it before the wife gets used to MP shes already had a go at me for forcing her to use a keyboard to change TV Channels!

When are we to see more Video Bitrate options under streaming in web admin ?
So far its only 128 , 256 , 512 and lan.
Upload streams like 800 , 1000 ,1500 over the Internet is quite normal where I live .
I am not an expert in programming but this program does what other programs need a 100 mb to do the same thing or less !

I'm having a problem with audio dropouts on Freeview NZ.

They appear to be confined to the use of AAC audio tracks; when viewing TV1/TV3 with AC3, i see no problems.

Essentially, when i switch to the channel, on any channel, i get video display & can hear the soundtrack fine. When the EPG Banner stops displaying, i get a video 'stutter' and then on AAC channels, the audio starts dropping out consistently. On AC3 channels the video stutters, but the audio is fine.

Doesn't seem to be a difference on Standard def channels versus HD channels.

I'm using a:

Avermedia A16D
Asus P5E-V
2 gig RAM
Nvidia 8500GT - Hooked up to 1080p telly via hdmi.
Dual Core E8200
Vista 32 bit.

I am using the momogram aac codec; Cyberlink H264 codec. (Powerdvd8)

Unsure what i should be doing more at this point to diagnose; would appreciate any & all help

I gave DVD shrink & handbrake a try.

DVD Shrink was fast, but I couldn't play the rips from my PCH. I could play individual vob files, but I was hoping for full menus (like I can get when I play it w/i GBPVR on the PC)

I tried using handbrake to make one big mp4 out of it, but it said it would take 74 hours to complete - I would think my rig should be able to transcode a little faster than that...

Any ideas?

Hi sub I know you're busy but hoping I can get a couple of things onto a wishlist.

Both to do around changing a file and getting the db out of sync.

Was wondering if on the fly, if a file is not found that is listed in the db, if gbpvr could check for some other extentions (.mpg, .ts .,avi).

Secondly wondering if there could be a list of "other places to check" All based around the root path. so if not found in G:\ that gbpvr could check some other, specified locations.
Maybe a setting like:
<ReplaceRecordingsDirWith>E:\Recordings~\\balrog\Recordings</ReplaceRecordingsDirWith>

Where you'd replace the RecordingsDir entry (mine happens to be G:\Recordings) with one of the others and check for a file there.

Only for use with checking the path of a recording.

I figure the first one might be pretty easy, the second one a bit for work. Also I'd only do this after File.Exists returns a fale so it's not the default action.
