what happen to the thread about setting up hd on a slower computer. was trying to help someone that thinks they need a quad core and 64 bit os.

Can anyone advise how it's considered best to go about deleting persistent conflicts that refuse to delete?

example:-

Does not delete under PVRX2 nor via web-interface.

Deleted all instances of programs titled 'Father Ted' however this has made no difference unfortunately.

What set up are you guys using to get surround sound out of your PVR? I just found out that apparently all TVs down sample any 5.1 or greater surround sound signal coming via any connection other than the cable connection to 2 channel - meaning if I have a DVD hooked to my TV and output the sound of my TV to my RX, the TV downsamples the 5.1/7.1 input from the DVD to 2 channel - you have to use an AV RX as the switching center to get 5.1/7.1 throughout!

I recently installed GBPVR on my computer and it worked great. A week later, I went home from college. I just returned to school and now my TV Guide is blank. I've tried emptying the EPG and then Updating the EPG, but this hasn't helped. I'm using XMLTV. Is there something I need to do to get GBPVR to recognize this and get a TV Guide?

I want to try to build a plugin to import channel lists from a text (xml) file (to overcome my problem listed at http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=35522). Basically, I would like the plugin to do the folowing 3 functions:

1) The import file to populate all the columns in the channels grid in the "Edit Recording Source" dialog.
2) The import file to fill up the tv guide info.
3) To set the sequence numbers of all the channels (accessible from the Channels tab in the Config utility).

But I am having a hell of a time trying to understand it all. VS 2005 is not a problem, but GBPVR plugins are another matter

For starters, I cant figure out the following 2 issues:

1) What interface to implement? I tried IMenuTask but this adds an item to the menu in PVRX2. I would like the plugin to be configured from the Config utility. I looked at the graph recorder plugin but it implements IRecordingSource and IRecordingSourceConfiguration which is not what I want.

2) I cant find anyway to display a windows form in the plugin. If I cant do that, how can I display the windows form contents thru the plugin?

I am sorry if these are basic question but as I mentioned above, I am stumped.

I am one of the many Linux/Myth converts here it appears...this is GREAT software...thanks Sub!

I have gone through and set up version 1.2.9 on my system with 2 Hauppauge 150s for SD, and have a HD Homerun for QAM via Charter Cable. Standard def TV works well albeit a "soft" picture that I am fine tuning. However, I seem to be having substantial problems troubleshooting my HD picture from the HD Homerun.

Here are my two problems:
1) The HD channels come through fine although I the picture isn't very smooth...seems like it is skipping frames...de-interlacing not set properly possibly. Thoughts?

2) However, my biggest concern is that after watching about 15 seconds of HD, I start getting a ton of pixelation making the picture completely unwatchable. After a few seconds, it will clear up again but then seconds later, it will go all pixelated again. What could be the problem here? I've tried numerous codecs and 2 or 3 different muxers without much effect. I have also played with many different settings and configs in the nvidia control panel. Have tried checking/unchecking the live tv box in config...nothing seems to resolve the problem. What am I missing?

Please excuse my ignorance but can anyone please remind me how to go about configuring GB-PVR so that it regularly grabs data from XMLTV.

Am having to click through 'system' followed by 'update EPG' but do not always run GB-PVR on the machine that it's running on but via the web-interface on a remotely connected machine (really like the web-browser functionality by the way).

Run-time error '53':

File not found

I've followed the Download/Installation directions listed on the website but no luck.

Sorry if this was already discussed somewhere, but I was talking to Zed about dual tuner cards in another thread and he suggested the PVR-1600 was the way to go for me. He pointed me to an older thread that suggested the PVR-1600 could record analog AND digital at the same time.

Am I correct in understand, then, that the following setup will work

Plain Old Antenna
| |
+---------=| <-Digital Tuner (after the digital conversion of course)
|
+---------=| <-Analog Tuner
| |
Cable Box

And GBPVR will be able to tune the analog tuner based on the blaster to the cable box and the digital tuner interally so that I could record a cable channel and a show off of the antenna at the same time?
