Long story. I hope someone can help. Here are the highlights:

I was fooling around with GB-PVR a week or so ago and was immediately impressed that it seemed fairly close to working. Particularly when it comes to the EPG and actually recording something. More than could be said for the software that shipped with my tv card.
Anyway; with GB-PVR v1.2.9 and Xp SP2 the only BDA Multiplexer that seemed to work with reliable playback was DVR-MS. The issue with DVR-MS seemed to happen while the recording was completing. Playback during recording seemed to always be fine, but often once the recording was complete nothing could play it reliably. I started converting these broken files to WMV files, but the audio becomes so far out of sync after 10 minutes that watching a recording is like having teeth pulled.
I tried fooling with quartz.dll, but clearly hadn't read the instructions properly and caused a PC that could play nothing. Google's only suggestion seemed to be to re-install XP. Yea right. Fortunately I came across the k-lite codec pack that re-registered quartz.dll for me and I was back in business. Still no joy though. Admittedly this may still be worth mucking around with, but I'm done going it alone. Actually I'm starting to wonder if Google actually has the answer to my problem. Hard to believe, I know!
Then I installed SP3 and GB-PVR 1.2.13. I read somewhere (here?) that SP3may solve the quartz.dll issues. Things have improved, but not so much that I'm actually a happy camper. DVR-MS still fails to make useful files 90% of the time. Cyberlink and TS make files that work, but seeking in these works poorly at best, a particular annoyance is the inability of GB-PVR to resume where you left off watching one of these recordings.
In summary, I am unable to consistently record TV in a way that gives shudder-free playback, synchronised audio and accurate seeking (including commercial skipping)

I need help with my GB-PVR installation which stopped working all of a sudden a week ago. It was on version 1.2.9 and I turned on my MediaMVP, couldn't connect, so I checked out my server and tried to startup Config and PVRX2 and GBPVR UI and kept getting 1721 and 1722 errors. I was on Windows XP (SP2), so I tried a few things to try to fix the issue.
- Upgraded Windows XP to SP3
- Removed/Re-installed Microsoft .NET 2.0
- Reinstalled vcredist_x86.zip
- Backed up config.xml, gbpvr.db3 & gbpvr.mdb like I always do and re-inserted into gbpvr directory after new install
- Uninstalled GB-PVR 1.2.9, deleted gbpvr folder & upgraded to 1.2.13
Also to note on my system, I have my firewall turned off and am using Symantec Antivirus 10.0.0.359.
So it seemed to get rid of the 1721 and 1722 errors, but all I get now when I startup Config or PVRX2 are these two errors --which are attached as screenshots.

I've also attached a copy of the logs which seem to indicate something about the .Net Runtime missing a Root file.

The m780 (now that it is working fine in GB-PVR) is having one last major issue. After resuming from standby, the card does something funky and causes the PC to reboot.
I just did a test with GB-PVR. I opened it up and tuned an HD channel. Then I stopped the channel playback. I set the computer into standby. I woke the PC, then re-tuned an HD channel in GB-PVR. No crash or errors. The channel tuned perfectly fine. BUT, as soon as I closed GB-PVR the PC bluescreened and re-booted.
I am starting to think it is a driver issue, as this is not relegated to GB-PVR. Sage will cause the PC to reboot as soon as I try to tune a HD channel after resuming from standby.
I hope this hasn't been asked before, but I am curious about how to edit the names of the channels in the guide.
I am using QAM mappings with my 1600 and have some of my current channels as my unlisted channels. For instance, I have a couple on demand channels mapped to a few of the low channels and NASATV mapped to like FAMHD I think it is.
I would like to know, is there a way to change these current names to more accurately reflect the channel I have mapped there, or would it be easier just to create a new entry and do it that way?
It was working mostly fine for a long time but now I'm only getting 2 stations worth of data and the rest is all gobbledegook. Maybe they changed their website? I've even used an alternate account and re-set it up with my favorites and everything.
Since AddEpisode has been kind of flakly for a few users, and it does not seem to be supported anymore, I've taken a stab at creating a utility that performs pretty much the same function.
Here is 1st cut at rename utility. The command line options do not exactly match AddEpisode, so take a look at the readme.
Also, there is an interactive mode, if you simply run the program without any parameters. It allows you to construct and test parameter lines prior to actually renaming the file.
I have had an issue ever since moving up from monogram V3 and higher with sound on NZ DVB-T. The sound was full of dropouts and pops, highly annoying and really just taking the gloss off an otherwise really cool setup. I tried everything ibcluding upgrading to a remote USB DAC (Citypulse 2.03E) and re-wiring my whole signal path, and applying the "Force audio lock" setting in the gbpvr ini file.
The culprit in the end was revealed when I upgraded GVPVR to the latest build, when I found the ability to change Monograms settings via GBPVR config. It was set to downmix to 2ch Stereo, I changed it to not downmix at all and bingo - sound issues are history.
I know others have had a similar issue, this might help get a quick solution.
Hi, me again. Well after getting client steaming working it now seems I have a problem using the client to schedule recordings. It lets me select the program from the guide and pops up the recording options screen but then clicking 'record' just goes back to the guide. There is no marker saying it's set to record and no pending recording either. Also won't let me cancel pending recordings via the client even though again it looks as though it's working until I check in pending recordings. Anyone any thoughts on this? I'm not using any firewalls so can't be that :confused:
