I've made this sticky (closed) thread to post useful information about problems that may arise, or to get useful tips out there. I'll add more information to this thread as we start to get feedback from this new release. If anyone has info they feel should be included here, please PM me.

I've uploaded the new 1.2.13 release to http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR10213.msi

As with past releases, if you dont already have them, you need to have .net 2.0 or higher installed, as well as the updated Microsoft runtime from http://www.gbpvr.com/vcredist_x86.zip.

If you're upgrading from a previous release, I recommend you backup your gbpvr.db3 and config.xml files just in case anything goes wrong. Post any problem reports in the Support forum.

There isnt a lot of new stuff in this release, but it rolls in a lot of patches I've previously made available, and also improves things in a few key areas.

From the change log:

- fixed a couple of problems teletext subtitles
- lots more minor Popcorn Hour enhancements, most of which have already been supplied as patches. (highdef UI, fast incremental screen updates, dvd playback, audio playlist support, fixes for AVI/MKV/MOV streaming etc...)
- fixed a problem that could cause a recording service crash
- fixed audio selection on Composite2/Svideo2 input
- fixed a problem with current song name not updating in the music library and net radio.
- fixed a problem with the logic for displaying show icons in the recordings screen
- fixed a problem where the user could get stuck in the screen saver
- added 16x10 as a TV Shape option.
- fixed broken DVD navigation with Overlay and EVR renderers.
- added a new "-import:filename" command line option for specifying the xml filename
- removed CT TV Listings epg source option
- added a "-flushpos" command line parameter that will delete the playback position history.
- added a new event so plugins can tell which screen is active
- fixed a bug with MVP on Search Guide screen.
- added a 'watched' indicator in the recordings screen
- updated version of EWA included
- old GBPVR.exe UI no longer included with the release. Rest in peace old friend.

I've got a remote that works fine on a system with a HVR-3000 but I can't seem to get it working on another system with a new install of GBPVR 1.2.9 and HVR-900.

I've confirmed that the irremote.ini settings for GBPVR are there but it doesn't seem to respond to any buttons at all. I've only installed ir32.exe. No WinTV or Powercinema.

I'd really appreciate if any using the HVR-900 with a remote can let me know if there is a trick to getting it going or some way to verify outside of GBPVR that the remote receiver is actually working.

I've got a weird one. I've installed gbpvr on a computer with a dvb-s card, and a large library of multimedia files. I can play both live tv, and multimedia files with no problems on the gbpvr server itself fine. However I can view any video/audio on the pch other than the gbpvr menus. I installed according to the guide, and I think I have all the latest plugins for the hd gbpvr menus, etc as well as the latest mvpmc client for the pch. I can telnet, etc to the pch fine, and the gbpvr menus display fine, I can select through them with the remote, etc. However when I go to play either live tv, or a mm file it goes to a blank screen and then after 5-10 seconds shows the popcorn hour screen and comes back to the select source menu on the pch.
My pch is set to 1080i 60hz, I've set the mvpmc config line to all kinds of options and currently have it set with just the -o hdmi & option. Menus in the gbpvr screen look fine and dont bleed through, fall offscreen, etc. In my config.xml I have the following section..

This is the only weird error message I see in the application log.

I have 9 channels that are three hours off. because Zap2it refuses to fix them. Is there a way to change channel times so that they are the right times?

I have NINE channels that are 3 hrs off the schedule. I want the ability to change the times of these channels to right times without messing with the other channels.

I am trying to use freq2xml and freq2reg to set up channel numbers and channel names. In my case, channel numbers (what is called the preset number in the presets.txt file) start from 36 and they are not contiguous. A small part of the listing is as follows:

I'm sure many of you have deployed MVP1000's to your children's rooms. What would be a great addition I think is to add a parental lock feature on things such as certain movie folders and especially certain TV channels.

Here in the US we have the V Chip which most (but not all including Cartoon Network) providers honour. It would be great if we could get that into the MVP setup some how.

Can we read the V Chip info within GBPVR? Could V Chip be a useful and socially responsible addition to GBPVR?

I'm sure that there are other V Chip type systems elsewhere on the planet.

I have used GBPVR before way back on a W2K box. My new mediacenter PC is XP MCE and I wanted to give GBPVR another shot, just to see what's changed and what's new.

I have been through the forums and seen a few people having this problem. I have tried downloading it 4 times, using two different browsers. I still cannot get past this error where it states that .cab is corrupt.

Is this cab even IN the installation? I even was going to download a previous version and try an upgrade, but I cannot find a working link for previous versions as well.

Is there a fix for the cab problem, or what about a .ZIP instead of the .MSI?

I thought I had successfully installed GB on my new Vista load, but when I went to add plugins, they don't show up in the plugin menu. Also, I get an error when starting up config, but I then get the config menu (minus the plugins).

HELP!

I get: Error loading plugin list Systemargumentout of rangeexception and it goes on to mention TVListings. However I think there's something wrong with the install and tvlistings is just the first plugin it tries to load.
