I am recently facing a problem after setting up my new htpc:

My new htpc have a board with intel 3100 Grafik (G31 chipset) and my flat tv is connected via DVI->HDMI. Everything fine so far. I managed the resultion and refresh rate (which was not easy by the way)

but:
If I switch of the TV while the pc is running, maybe recording, the grafikdriver will close the dvi port. I can hear the windows signal of hardware removed (in this case the tv). But if I switch then the tv on there are another windows ping (pnp: tv is there) but the grafikdriver will not open the dvi again and therefore I get no picture. I have to shutdown or hibernate the pc and the picture will be restored after the next start.

After reading a lot of other boards I'v learned that it is a common problem with dvi hdmi connections and ati has solved this with its latest 8.3 drivern, nvidia seems too. But Intel ? I'm using the latest Intel drivers.

Anybody out there knows any solution? Maybe some older Intel driver versions ? Or any hidden betadriver anywhere ?

Or any programming guru here wich knows how to tell the Intel driver to do a "re-initialse" ? I could catch th windows "hardware has changend" message. Maybe filtering if it was the montior (tv) that was connected and then send a "reset" to the drivers" ?

Any experience here ?

I had the PVR2 EPG set to update from Freeview at 5am and it would not update automatically when I was away from my computer (which was always on with standby deactivated). I then set it to 6am and it still doesn't auto-update. I've tried it with the PRV2 application running and with PVR2 not running and it doesn't update either way and its been like this for weeks. The only way to update the EPG is to do it manually.

I have just found this site and software. I thought I'd try it as the software on my daughters PC, supplied by Acer is awful.

I Have downloaded 5 times but keep getting this error on install...

"Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Cabs.w1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD ROM, or a problem with this package."

I have searched and the only thing I could find is that it may be a server problem.

Any help gratefully received as I would really like to try this software.

Hi All,

I've noticed that there are a few ATSC Radio channels in my local area (NYC/Philly) but I am unable to listen to them.

My assumption is that they are simply audio channels sent in ATSC format.

Any ideas as to how I can hear these stations?

Is it possible to output more using the screensaver panel

how are these size values used ?

I dont understand how the composite image is 18x36 yet the logo is 100x100 and the songname is 100x20

The songName is usually far too small so I tried increasing it to 200x200 but it did not display at all then !!

is it possible to have separate fields for SongTitle and Artist so you could split them onto two different lines ??

Are there any other fields that could be displayed here

Just wondering if Telstra NZ cable users ave been experiencing signal issues in the last few weeks? (apart from the total loss of picture during the state of origin)

I have been getting little skips in the programs I am watching, and was wanting to know if others have seen the same
(espec. Sub & Psycik - to see if it's the telstra STB or not)

Did everyone lose their channel list the other night? (ie, box said no channels, and when scanning found nothing - then it kicked me out to the supposedly pin-protected installers menu)

I'd like to be able to select a preferred tuner card that the MVP uses. On GBPVR I use one of the tuners from the Hauppauge HD500 for live TV. Problem is that when I want to watch live TV using the MVP in another room it also, I assume, will attempt to use the same tuner (if not in use). As its H.264, the MVP fails. If I could tell the MVP to use one of the analogue tuner cards, that would certainly help.

I just put together system, this time replacing my server. I'm still in the process of putting the software on there. I tried Vista this time, since there have been some praises about it on here. Well, it seems I was worried for nothing and most of you were right - Vista seems ok.

However, I had another reason for trying vista - I wanted to try it on the 780g mother board with integrad ATI HD3200 graphics to see if DXVA was functioning on it. Well, a new ATI driver update just came out so I figured there was even a better chance than normal AND I also used another MB, this time a Gigabyte vs an Asus.

I had the same experience basically, no DXVA under GB-PVR. It was better, as this time there was no crashing or weird skipping and artifacts, just no DXVA. However, I did find that I was getting DXVA under Cyberlink 8 H.264 only on EVR, BUT NOT UNDER GB-PVR. I tested this by building a graph and replacing the typical VMR7 output video filter that comes up with the EVR one and it worked fantastic - 4% for a 720p H.264 .mkv movie. Can anyone explain what I'm doing wrong and why it won't work under GB-PVR?

I just recently saw that this was an alternative program for viewing video from my lumanate atsc/ntsc tv tuner. After saving the installer to my desktop and executing it, the install fails with the message:

"error 1316. A network error occured while attempting to read from the file: C:\Users\admin\Desktop\GBPVR10209[1].msi"

I ran the updates from http://www.gbpvr.com/vcredist_x86.zip... I still get this error.

I have tried to run this as admin, but there doesn't seem to be an option to do so under properties (Vista).
