Apparently, the XMLTV grabber I use has failed to produce a shows for all channels this morning, and the result is a very strange behavior on the part of PVRX2.exe:

Choosing the TV-Guide first blinks and returns to main menu.
Second time, I enter TV-Guide, and I see many channels with no program information.
When I try to leave (using "back" / "menu" on the remote, or ESC on the keyboard) does not exit to main menu. It looks as if the fade-effect hasn't finished.
Weirder still - the TV Guide is still operational but everything looked faded (see attached photo).

The only way out is Alt-F4 and restart PVRX2.exe.

I have made a copy of the entire gbpvr directory, so just tell me which files to upload and I will zip and upload.

I have a question about deinterlacing of HD signal.

I am getting a 1080i signal from my HDHomerun. I am using the Nvidia Purevideo decoder with deinterlace set to automatic. (GBPVR set to encoder pass-through) My video card is an NVidia Geforce 6600 set to output over component cables with a 1080i signal to my HDTV which is a Toshiba CRT with 1080i native resolution on its component inputs.

My question is this. Will the Purevideo decoder deinterlace the 1080i signal only to have it re interlaced by the video card? or is the decoder smart enough to know not to deinterlace 1080i signals. Or am I thinking about it all wrong.

Up until now, I've had a cable split and feeding analog signals into my 2 PVR-150 tuners. I've just aquired a used digital cable box and now want to have one of my PVR-150 cards fed a digital signal via S-Video and have a few questions...

1) On Schedules Direct, I've added a 2nd channel line-up for the digital channels in my area. When I go to update the EPG for both cards, ALL channels are retrieved, even for the analog-only card. I guess manually unchecking the "Enabled" checkboxes in the Channels list for the digital-only channels in the analog list will fix that?

2) How do I setup the PVR-150 IR blaster to control my cable box from within GBPVR? I thought this would be an easy answer to find, but I can't figure it out. I ran the setup program for the blaster and that works fine, but how do I get GBPVR to change channels via the blaster? Is that not "built-in"?

3) When I go to Live TV, is there a way to force it to use the PVR-150 card that's attached to the cable box so I can watch the extra digital channels?

4) Related to question #1... Since for the analog-only card, I've disabled the digital-only channels, will GBPVR know to not use that card if recording a digital program?

I just converted over from MS MCE using a Adaptec 3610 which worked very nicely, it was just very limited... and since it relied on XP MCE which is nearing end of life I figured I should work on my replacement PVR.

So, looking up "MCE Hacks" I found this place. And grabbed another spare piece of hardware and installed XP Professional (also near end of life, but at least the PVR software wouldn't be) and GB PVR. And the drivers for my Hauppauge 500.

I ran through all the steps in the Quickstart and it seemed to work well (outside of one strange behavior in the Capture Sources page where although I picked "Analog Recording Plugin", it displays "Direct Recording Plugin". When I go back into it, it shows Analog again. Maybe thats a known bug. Not really what I came in here for but I thought I'd mention it.)

So with everything set up and working, I can then go into Live TV and see all my stations and hear them just fine but I get a completely black/blank display. I can see the bar at the bottom with the channel and the description but thats it. As expected, when I record a show it shows as black/blank but with sound. The other things I've tried such as Net Radio work fine too.

I'm going to attempt to attach my logs.

Any advice would be happily received.

I think I have an audio config issue with my machine, but I cant work out how to resolve it.

My PC is connected to a seperates amp using an optical lead
Video Decoder: Intervideo
Audio Decoder: AC3Filter
Audio Renderer: System Default


LiveTV is fine as all TV channels play audio OK.
Music Library - does not output any sound when playing any mp3.
ITunes - outputs audio on the same mp3s fine.
Some .avis do not have sound when watched through Movie Wizard
Those .avis have sound when played using VLC.


My initial hunch was codec as some of the videos would play sound, some wouldnt. Now im not sure sure as Itunes can play all mp3s, but Music Library cannot play any.

Any thoughts on what to check anyone ?

Is there any way to access the internal hard drive of PCH or any plugged in USB drives through GP-PVR or MVPMCX2?

(without setting them up as network drives, mapping them on the GP-PVR system and then adding them as GP sources...because that would be kinda loopy. Hard drive -> network -> PC -> GP-PVR -> PCH -> MVPMCX2)

I think I've found the shortcut keys for all the modules except Recordings. If there is one, does anyone know what it is?

No idea if this will work with GBPVR or not but it seems like a good deal.

I am not sure what that means on my ability to publicly answer questions here so sub do you have a way to create a private forum for this? It might be a pain to manage but it is the only way I see going forward.

I have setup my system to use an external channel changer and changing EXE, it actually works well for live TV, when I start Live TV it will send the current channel it should be on to the blasting program (hip via hipsend) it will also send channel changes when I tell it to and when I select a channel via the guide* I've done some recordings but the TV was tuned to the channel I needed to be on when it started.


I noticed to day that I tried to schedule two programs just for no reason at all to record, it did not change the channel when the recording started. If I selected to watch that channel it would change.

EDIT: *my guide generall works and is the only way I can dial four digit channels however I have two channels (325 and 326) that may booth be named toon and only one shows up in the tv guide off the main menu, the other shows up by its self when I hit the guide button while watching something.
