I tried searching for "keep" but I can't since it's a common word, so sorry if this question has been answered already. When selecting a recording, there are options to play, resume, delete, keep and close. What exactly does the "Keep" button do?

Short question is that I have bought and installed the nVidia PureVideo Codec for the PVR, and since that, PVRx2 plays my DVDs OK, except that there is no audio. The Video is good. CPU utilization peaks at around 55%. Selecting different options in the config for the DVD panel (selecting different audio codecs) does not seem to make any difference. DVD playback works fine with Windows Media player, Audio is fine there!

Help me! Details are given below as to how I arrived here...

I Originally had the K-Lite Codec Pack installed in my PVR setup, and used the Cyberlink Codecs for both LiveTV and DVD playback. Never tried the "MPEG Video Player" codec that is available default on Windows.

• The Live TV playback was good, and used around 50% CPU.
  
• The DVD Playback was horrible, used 100% CPU all the time, Jittery etc., Audio worked, albeit jittery.
  
• DVD Playback was same using Windows Media Player also.
  

• Live TV worked fine. CPU utilization was surprisingly lower (around 33% most times)
  
• DVD Did not work, Selecting DVD would not do anything.
  
• DVD Did not work using Windows Media Player either. Got a message about needing a decoder codec
  

• Live TV worked fine, even clearer though that is hard to tell. CPU utilization was surprisingly higher than the previous option (around 50% most times)
  
• DVD using PVRX2 / GBPVR has no Audio. At all.
  
• DVD works wonderfully fine with Windows Media player, audio included.
  

I am trying to set up my PCH and I am following the mvpmcx2 Installation and Survival Guide. I can see my HTPC and play videos, music and pictures. I got to Part B of the guide, testing Telnet, but I am at a loss on how to open telnet.html from the PCH. Is there any hope for a novice at this?

My wife and I are non-technical and we really just want to watch TV so is it possible to bypass the TV Guide and EPG setup options? If so, are the basic channels auto-detected or do we have to enter them manually and/or run the Tuning Assistant Utility? I did read the GB-PVR manual but I just didn't get a clear picture on how to accomplish a basic setup as described above so any help would really be appreciated.

Oh, and the TV Tuner card we're installing is an ATI 550 PRO PCI. Also, we live in North America and subscribe to a major cable company that serves South-Eastern Pennsylvania.

GB-PVR is a great piece of software, but I'm a bit of a noob to this. The analog tuner works perfectly, and I've managed to get a lot of QAM channels set up as well, but a lot of them aren't showing up in the list of channels found when I do a scan. For example, I'm pretty sure TBS is on 85.2, and I have even seen it playing in the preview window above the "Rescan" button during a scan, but it simply is not in the list. I have seen Lifetime on the preview too, it's never listed either.

I've attached my config.exe logs... I have set it to ignore PMT CRC errors during scan, and I've even tried increasing the value BDAPsiScanWaitSecond and setting BDAIgnoreHiddenChannels to false, but it either still doesn't find it or crashes. I don't know what to try next. Can anybody help?

If it matters, I'm using a Hauppauge HVR-1800 on a Athlon X2 machine running XP x64.

I am preparing to install GB-PVR and use it with an ATI 550 PRO PCI TV Tuner card. Now, ATI states that a WDM Driver is required for all of their TV Tuners cards (and they show a WDM download link for the 550 PRO). So, is this WDM Driver only neccessary for ATI's software or is it required for GB-PVR as well?

Sometimes when I delete a recording from the Ready list, the screen isn't fully updated after the delete. So I'm still seeing a part of the popup. The strange thing is that this doesn't happen every time. Has anyone else had the same experience?

Though there are a couple of threads dealing with unability to watch DVD, I didn't find anything matching my problem.

I recently installed PowerDVD 7 (2 Channel) and suddenly find myself unable to watch DVDs. As I very rarely watch DVDs, the problem might have been there before unnoticed and might in no way be related to PowerDVD 7.

When klicking on the 'DVD' button, GBPVR just stays in the main menu. The whole thing happens around 20:54:35.781 - logs attached.

I am new to GBPVR. I am trying to convert Vista MC EPG to XMLTV for GBPVR as per doucmentation at http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/MceEpg2XmlTv.

I am able to force download of EPG into ehome\EPG. But when VMC starts it says there is no guide data and when I start MceEpg2xmlTV for conversion it fails.

I can continue past the error and create the 1.xml file and then download the EPG. Now when I run the command MceEpg2xmlTV.exe config=1.xml auto I get the following error - MceEpg2xmlTV has stopped working.
