I had 1.2.9 on Vista SP1 running with my OnAir GT using OTA. I decided to see what clear QAM I could get with my cable so I set it up as another device and searched. I found quite a few goodies in clear QAM. I can see them (sometimes, the config program seems a little unstable here) in the preview window so I mapped channels. When I go to watch live TV, the screen goes blank for a second, then back to the menu.
Any idea why it's doing this? Attached are my logs.
Also, a couple other questions
1) Is there anyway to hide/disable a tuner? I've got two configs now for my On Air GT, one for OTA, one for QAM, it would be nice to hide the other device when I'm trying to use the other.
2) I'm using SD as my EPG. When I updated EPG after doing my mapping (only about 20 channels) I went in to the channels menu in the config, and I had 150 enabled channels, even though I don't have mappings to them. Why did it enable all channels that didn't have mappings?
Our MVP has become unstable after upgrading to 1.2.9. It hangs in the middle of shows and we have to restart the recording service and sometimes unplug the MVP to get it to reconnect. The odd thing is we are able to watch some shows without much problem, then all of a sudden things go very wrong and nothing really works until many restarts.
I'm running on an older PC (600 mhz P3 w/ 512 mb ram and XP SP2). Things were working well with the previous version of GBPVR. I've been running GBPVR.EXE for the MVP. I've tried PVRX2.EXE, but that was even more unstable.
I've attached the logs that were updated after a restart of the recording service and the MVP hung, then I turned off the MVP and let the logs finish filling up before zipping them up.
Hope you can help with this one. It seems that even though I have the 'false' lines included in config.xml , every time I go to playback the file is transcoded before playing. Looking in the MVP-PVRX2.exe.log I see that it is reading 'true' even though it is set to 'false' in config.xml
I have restarted the system hoping that the values were just loaded incorrectly...I'm stuck...Is there some way to force a re evaluation of the PCH config values?

This concerns nonrepeatable behavior of comclean. I'm recording MS-DVR files. It is understandable that comskip, as a heuristic, doesn't catch every commercial. What is puzzling, however, is that of the commercials recognized by comskip, comclean cuts some of the time, and not others. This occurs on recurring same-series recordings, within individual recordings, to a varying degree. Wouldn't this rule out fomat issues?

I'm having a lot of fun working out the kinks with my GB-PVR setup, however this particular situation has me baffled.
I'm using rabbit ears from Belle River to get some signals from Detroit while I work out the kinks.
My Problem:
I've subscribed to SchedulesDirect. My Antenna gets PBS which in GB-PVR is Tuning Request T:43,56,1. However, instead of the guide showing me the correct show for what is on this channel, it shows me what is on Detroit PBS channel 56.

For example, at 8pm on May 1st, GB-PVR Live TV displays the show Nature (Penguins) for 56.1 but the guide says it is This Old House which is 56.
Changing the Tuning request to 56,56,1 causes the channel to not come in obviously...but i don't think that's the right thing to do anyway.
I clicked on Map Digital channels to EPG channels and rescanned my channels. it does not correct the situation.
What do I have to do to get the right TV Guide to show for this channel?

I have been trying to install 1.2.9 on Vista. Right clicking the msi does not show the run as administrator option but user account control kicks in on running the msi. The installer complains about a missing file and the eventvwr lists this as config.exe, any clues or tips would be hugely appreciated,
I seem to have an issue converting dvr-ms files. So far i have only tried to convert them to Xvid, and the process begins but it hangs and only creates a 24 meg .mpg file and just continues to churn and my CPU is usually at 100%, but nothing happens after that. I left it overnight like that thinking it just take a while, but no luck, same result.
I have checked to make sure i have a mux installed and i have both the cyberlink and ATI installed.
Any help would be appreciated, this process is being run under GBpvr's processing tool.
Also is there a way to tell GBpvr to convert manually, i.e. i have files from a recording from a previous day, but want to convert them manually when i am sitting at the computer, this would also help so i could test conversion without having to record a new show and start conversion via ASAP.
This might sound confusing but once i try to convert, and it does not work, it somehow gets registered that it has been converted and when the scheduled conversion is run again say between 1am and 6am those files are skipped.
These recordings are all captured through QAM on a Hauppauge 1600.
Do you think using a different mux would help, i downloaded and registed cyberlink MpgMux(5.0.0.1307).ax, mux checker confirms it has been intalled.

EDIT: Ok so i fixed my problem, downloaded a new cyberlink mux through one of the other theads from twinhan and now everything works a ok
As a side note: This would make a neat early Christmas present for sub from all the QAM users, since it would give him in house access to at least one QAM channel.
