Sub, do you think that it would be beneficial to have a section in the forum where people who use GBPVR heavily can start a thread for their own system? Then people with similar(ish) systems can follow progress- this would mean that say, rather than posting a question asking about S3 sleep problems, they can see that others have used MCE standby tool to fix issues (for example). Also, if you have a problem, it would be possible to look through a number of systems and see if the problems you are having are common or not and what options you have.
I'm partly saying this because after several years of playing around with various versions of GBPVR, I now have two systems that work well enough to ditch all other DVD players and receiver seperates in the house.
I'm suggesting that people only post when they have solved a problem, then say how they did it, so that those having problems have a quick reference to solutions.
I was watching freeview HD fine this afternoon, I went out and came back this evening to find my shows had recorded but the files were 0 bytes. When trying to watch live TV the screen goes black and nothing happens on all channels except analogue. It is like the DVB-T side of my HVR4000 has just stopped working. I have tried powercinema and there is no picture there either. Signal is reported at 0 percent. My indoor UHF aerial is in the same position and plugged in. I can't figure this out. :confused:
This is really odd and has only just started happening in the last couple of days. I was watching a video and playback just stops and the entire system becomes unresponsive. I've found the logs from the time it happened and they are confusing. Bearing in mind everything has been working perfectlya nd i havent changed anything on my computer (that i can remember!)

I just downloaded the 'All Models' software and installed it. Tell it to ignore the fact that it can't find the right hardware. Nothing needs changing in GBPVR (config.xml). At least, not for me! It installs the Cyberlink codec.
Some have suggested it doesn't need installing but merely registering the .ax file will do. You are on your own there.
I was surprised it worked and surprised my system didn't cough and splutter!
It would be very nice if it was possible to choose which H.264 decoder to use for X.264 encoded MKV files. These kind of files are becoming more and more a standard for HD movies. The config app lets you choose a H.264 decoder, but this then applies only to TS files produces by GB-PVR and Live TV. Extending that choice to also include H.264 stuff from MKV files etc would be most welcome.
One can always play around with the filters and change the priority in which they are loaded, but it is messy.
Zoom player has a very nice interface for this with their Smart Play functionality. I am not looking for the complete functionality of that (even if it would be very nice), simply getting the preferred H.264 decoder for MKV files with X.264-encoded film would be enough.
I think I've finally gotten my EPG working completely, but my solution seems rather inelegant and I would love it if someone could suggest something simpler.
I have the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1800, which has an analog tuner and ATSC tuner. The apartment I live in provides "special" analog cable TV, consisting of a (renumbered) mixture of local channels, satellite channels, and in-building CCTV channels - about 25 in all; I have an antenna hooked up to the ATSC tuner. I have these two tuners entered as separate capture sources in GB-PVR's configuration.
The analog tuner's EPG source is XMLTV, for which I am using Yapi2XML. The eclectic mix of channels on my cable requires me to use DirecTV listings (identifying and remapping twenty-something out of several hundred channels is always fun), but I finally got it configured and working well.
Now, to find programming for my ATSC content, what I ended up doing is making a second copy of Yapi2XML, and told this one to look at the digital cable provider's listings and identify and remap the ~7 digital channels I can pick up with my flimsy FM dipole antenna (in the original Greek my name means "too cheap to buy an HDTV antenna"). GB-PVR looks for the XML listings in the second Yapi2XML location. I then modified my UpdateEPG.bat to run both copies of Yapi2XML.
Is there a better way? Has anyone successfully used multiple "lineups" in Yapi2XML (I see a drop-down option but it is grayed out) to pull listings from multiple providers into a single XML file that treats channels from multiple capture sources?
Although I have selected the CoreAVC decoder in config I still end up with the Cyberlink H.264/AVC decoder if I look in the logs. This seems to happen with all my mkv files.
Should not the H.264 decoder go for mkv files? I think it should...
When I'm trying to watch a DivX AVI (under Video Library), two things happen: First, GBPVR wonders whether it should resume or start over from the beginning. But the problem is that it loses focus. I have to 'alt-tab' back into GB-PVR so I can select it.
Under the new EVR, it doesn't even show me the resume/start-over option, it just looks like it freezes. I had to switch to VMR9, and still losing focus whenever I play an AVI.
