I have a new problem that is driving me nuts.

I often go into pending records and hit play to watch the show as it is recording. Now for some reason when I do that the the recording isn't available in the Ready/New menus. The mpgs are there and if I move them over to the video library they will play just fine but they aren't available via the recordings menu.

This is not a sometimes happens thing, it is always happening for me.

If I leave everything alone and let the show finish recording before trying to watch it then the show will show up in the ready/new menus. If I view it while it is recording they will not.

I cleaned and collected logs but unfortunately left the logging level to error. Attached are those logs.

I'll increase the logging levels, repro again, and post new logs.

Any ideas?

I have put a dish on the roof myself and alligned it as close as I can. Next step put the satellite finder in to final align the dish, - problem

The problem is that my nova-s-plus card will only supply power to the dish when it is scanning or using a channel, and the sat finder requires the power from the card.

Rather than getting mate to come around and yell at him every 30 seconds or so is there some way to get it to hold the scan test for longer?

Hi, I'm on V1.2.9 and now that I've replaced my quartz.dll (as per the sticky thread on "poor mpeg decoding") to get rid of my blurry motion playback issues for LiveTV and completed recordings, I'm pretty much happy with everything, with one exception.

When I'm in LiveTV and I enter pause mode (aka timeshift mode), then resume playback, the picture stutters something chronic. This isn't blurry motion playback, this is almost as if frames are being dropped. I've tried adjusting settings for decoder playback and de-interlacing but no joy. All my completed recordings playback fine. If - from within LiveTV mode - I set the program to record and continue to watch, I also get the stuttering issue.

Any ideas?

I changed some of my channels on schedualsdirect so I decided to re-do my config.bat file and start from scratch. It's downloading my listings but it's taking forever! I can't remember it taking this long before.

The file says I can open xmltv.log to check the progress, but what exactly am I looking for.

Also xmltv.log only has 2or3 lines in it, does it mean I should check I-XMLTV.log?

System: Hauppage 1250, AMD 780G chipset, 5400+ CPU in Asus M3A78-EMH HDMI motherboard, 4g ram. XP/SP2 with all updates. Clean install for this new machine. Tried Hauppage drivers 4.1 and 4.2 beta.

Seeking the simplest installation, I chose the DVR-MS mux. GB-PVR creates dvr-ms files which can be viewed in both GBP-PVR and WM11, but there is no sound. I used the folder "show details" option to see if there is an audio track in the capture files; it shows none -- is this accurate?
Hauppage WinTV does have sound.

I tried to rule out a Dolby audio problem with an analog capture test, but GB-PVR appears unable to capture from analog on that card.
Other than the absence of sound, the digital files are clean, and it works with very low CPU usage -- 12-14% on both recording and playback.

Can I not download 1.1.5 anymore? 1.2.9 has way to many problems for me... can't use FF/RWD anymore. Shows either don't record or record as show 1 but the recording that plays is show 2. Please sub can I have 1.1.5 back?

Here's the error I get:

Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\GBPVR\GBPVRWriter.ax failed to register. HRESULT -2147010895. Contact your support personnel.

So I'm contacting you UAC is turned off. Any ideas?

This is more a question of clarification, since I think its - but a couple of stations (recorded w/ HDHomeRun) play back audio fine on my PC (using ffdshow video & audio codecs) - this is using the TS mux

On the PCH, however, there is no sound. If I press "info" twice, it doesn't show anything for audio (stations that I get sound show AC3). I assume this means that the incoming streams for these stations uses an audio format that is not supported by the PCH. Is that correct?

I have been playing with my system for a few months and thought I would ask a few questions. When watching live tv, the only channels that do not stutter are the public television channels which are according to antennaweb.org 6.3 miles from my house, the others channels are 7.8, 14.8 and 22 miles. There are time that the some channels are coming in better but for the most part they stutter. I built one of those coat hanger antennas found on youtube. Should that antenna be good enough? Right now it is just sitting behind the entertainment center on the floor, do I need to get it up off of the floor?

Another question I have is the audio that I am using is onboard Soundmax ADI 1980 6-channel, should this be good enough for the system or is this part of the problem? The specs are in my signature. Right now, I cannot connect to the internet with the PVR, I need to find my drill bit to put a hole in the floor and run the dsl cable to the router, then I can attach the log files.

I know from reading that codecs play a huge part in getting the playback to work correctly, so if that is the issue then I will have to figure out what ones I need and what ones I need to get rid of.

What I wish to findout is how to be able to Start
PVRX2 with the Hauppauge Remote. What I wish to be
able to do is to have gbpvr start with the remote like you
can call wintv2000 with the go button on the remote.

Have can you if you can add PVRX2 to the GoMenu that
pop's up when you push the Go button on the remote.
