1. Will not start in live TV even though I tell it to
2. Double channel #s in pop-up TV guide
3. Unable to play a folder of .mp3s with the music player - Doesn't matter if I highlight the folder and say Play all, or navigate into the folder and select Play all.
4. The Menu button on the Hauppauge remote will not popup the menu in ANY renderer, any skin. It seems to try sometimes, I see it pop up for a second, then nothing.
5. I no longer have a TV window inset when back at the menu.
6. The weather plug-in will not show current weather conditions as a task image, even though it is selected.
Love the plug in... is there any way that it will play an .iso image without launching an external player.... pvrx2 plays .iso's great but i like the features of movie wizard... vlc uses it's own decoders and I've found that pvrx2 uses my Nvida Pure Video decoders... which play perfect! trying to figure a one step play...
Hi any support calls for version 7 in here please.
Was a fairly major upgrade.
Some of the things to check for.
Sometimes the Interfaces.Dll and possible the MusicLibraryCommon.dll may need to go into a Gbpvr\Plugins\Common directory (along with the tag readers used).
I'd recommend a rescan if coming from an older version as a lot of work was done with the album art, and so it should find more now.
If coming from the 6.7 version, you may need to stop the recording service to install and some DLLs may be in use.
I was notified that if installing GBPVR 1.2.13 from a new install then you will need to create a skin2\skin\MusicLibrary2 and maybe a skin\skin\MusicLibrary2 - but you should already have this latter one.
Change history as follows: 29-Mar-2008 - Version 7.2
Moved Tag reader tests to Interfaces.dll since the results of the test were not being stored. This also forces and should resolve any assembly errors
Adjusted the DB reading to read composer tag
Forced a read to the MusicLibraryCommon at constructor time to help with assembly errors.
Added ability to show Year tag of the current playing track (Add @year to the skin.xml in the currentPlaying composite image)
Added ability to show composer tag to the current playing track, and to the media details screen (Add @composer to the skin.xml in the currentPlaying composite image) and (add @composer to mediadetails composite image)
Added a method of consistently setting version numbers of all DLLs
Fixed a bug with assembly hell, where some of the external dlls wouldn't load and had to be moved to common, they are now checked earlier and should always be picked up from the MusicLibrary2 directory.
Added a lot more error trapping on render Methods
Added version information listed on Config form
24-Mar-2008 - Version 7.1
Fixed a bug in using the switch screens (ctrl-b) when always query is turned off
24-Mar-2008 - Version 7.0
Extracted a lot of code to a new DLL (MusicLibraryCommon) allowing the separation of code from gui code. This allows the implementation of ML3 easier (pvrx2 version)
Changed locally stored playlists from DB stored to file stored - a new option in the configuration is for the setting of a base playlist directory.
Fairly major re-write of the playlist code (thanks to smelcher) now all playlists are file based.
Fairly extensive re-write of the scanning code for updating tracks.
Addition of a “LOAD_” designation on a playlist, tracks found in a playlist with this designation will be loaded into the library.
Fixed a bug with typing a entry for the left screen, if you moved after typing, it would select the top entry, not the selected.
Fixed the update media while running the plugin
Did some verification that the db is CreateDatabase
Fixed a bug with the creation of the musicLibrary table*Fixed bug in checking for external tag reader libraries
Fixed “bug” where after screen saver is activated it would always go back to the library screen (tkgafs) now it remembers what screen it was on.
Fixed bug with deleting a track in the playing playlist where the screen would not be updated (tkgafs)
Fixed the composer reading on the ultraid3 library - using toString would return the tag name as well instead of just the value
Changes to album art processing simplified the method so that GetArt and CheckArt where the same code, as they were out of sync while separate Methods.
Fixed problems with Randomization. Added the ability to treat the “Playlist” randomization similar to how the album and artist randomization works. This is configurable to randimise the whole playlist and ignore the “random minutes”
Added an error message for MlUpdater when ScanDay and ScanHour are −1 and it wont scan. Before it would, and it would scan over and over.
Adding more logging around the playlist file loading to understand it
Enhanced Randomization to not pick duplicates from the playlist. In addition, once all of the songs have been selected from a list, the randomization will stop rather than grab duplicates from the list.
Fixed bug in config form where default mlPlaylistDir wasn’t being loaded from config
Removed setting root folder to My Documents, and made it the selected folder instead, meaning you can choose any directory.
Skin Changes - Added @albumArt variable to the Inset and AlbumArt composite images.
I am interested in building a PVR and this SW appears to be what I need. Now I need to pick the right HW.
I currently have my OTA antenna feed and three (3) DirecTV HD Receivers in a media closet. They are connected to a distribution amplifier so that I can watch any receiver on any TV in the house (DTV tuned to channels 52, 54, or 58 or OTA tuned directly on TV tuner). Is there a solution for recording and viewing two programs simultaneously on a PC?
I have looked at info on the SiliconeDust HDHomeRun network device, but the tuners are terminated and don't have an output, so I would have to have two feeds from the distribution amp in one location.
Does anyone out there do this today? Could I simply take a splitter and split a single feed from the wall between the two tuners? Is there a better solution? Maybe the Hauppauge 1600?
I've been thinking about doing this for sometime and am ready to go, but don't know what is best.
BTW, I live in the US, so currently I get NTSC & ATSC OTA, but will get ATSC only OTA beginning next February. I am in the boondocks, so don't have cable capability, just DirecTV, so QAM isn't much interest to me. Finally since I use a media closet, all DTV HD Receivers are dual RF/IR, but I use the RF and as far as I can tell I can not have both active at the same time, so an IR blaster might not be an option for me, but not sure. Also, all my wiring is RG-6 and ethernet in preparation for HD.
i am currently using ffdshow and cannot get my 5.1 surround sound working through gbpvr.... any recommendations for a better decoder for mainly divx and xvid through 5.1 surround ...
thank you....
[have tried all the matrix settings and other recoomends from the ffdshow forum in ffdshow]
I finnaly got another media center pc together and got good ol' GB-PVR back on (it's been a while!). Thanks for the good work all. Anyway....
Everything worked fine, as far as installing and using GB-PVR and the skin. I can even go in with the Skin plugin and choose BlueMCE and it will still work fine. However, when I go in and change the background and try to go to a sub menu like Media Library, it crashes (Going to Media Library works fine until I change the background).
Any ideas?

Sorry for this probably very simple question but I am lost in the sea of possibilities and have no compass!!!
I have a few DVDs that I play a lot and want to put them on the hard disk so I can then play them using PVRX2.
I can get an iso or dvd image (vob files etc) to the hard disk by copying / transcoding to DVD5 or whatever, I guess ultimately its down to image size and what plays it.
I have previosly been converrting them to MPG which is OK for a few but nice to get get the menu for the others.
Now I don't know what to use to play these images in PVRX2. What are the usual/preferred/reliable methods. The built in DVD only seems to access the DVD drive not the hard disk, so I guess I need a plugin or virtual DVD tool.
hi
i have a problem,
it happened on the 1.1.5 version and i was hoping it will go away on this version.
when i schedule a season recording or to record each week at the same time, the recording doesnt turn red.
i can see it in the "reacuring" section but it doesnt record anything.
if i record just one episode, its fine.
i changed the skin back to blue.
i changed the language to english.
no change... right now i am recording each week all the episodes.
do you have any idea what i can do to fix it please?
i though it had something to do with the channel logos but that wasnt the problem
