Windows client hanging when playing recording
Posted by: TGinAZ - 2021-09-30, 12:16 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (20)

I'm running version 5.2.0.210912 on a Windows 10 PC, and I'm having problems watching some (not all) recordings.  The NextPVR client appears to hang in a loop and is totally unresponsive... the only way to continue is killing the app.

I tried opening the TS file with Windows Media Player, and while it doesn't hang, it plays for a couple of minutes and then jumps to near the end of the 30+ minute video.  Obviously suggesting something is wrong with the recording.

This recording, and the others that cause the problem, was created with NextPVR from a SiliconDust HDHomeRun tuner.

Can anyone help fix my problem (the NextPVR recording or playback problem, not all my other issues!)  ;-)

Would it help to have a copy of the logs and/or TS file?

Thanks in advance!

What's the current NextPVR client plugin for LibreElec/KODI?
Posted by: ehbowen - 2021-09-29, 08:17 PM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (1)

I'm trying to get NextPVR working throughout my home network, but it doesn't seem to function with the KODI plugin I have installed (3.3.21.1, by Graeme Blackley) on a Pi 3 running LibreElec. I've looked for an update but can't find one in the repositories I'm using.

I'm getting ready to update the Kodi hardware to a Pi 4, and I'll be changing many of the file archive locations around as well (new NAS). What's the best/most current Kodi plugin for NextPVR, and where do I find it?

Unable to access login screen after upgrade from legacy 3.7.7
Posted by: ehbowen - 2021-09-29, 02:53 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (4)

I've had NextPVR installed on my Windows computer since 2014, although I haven't used it much in the past couple of years. Recently I replaced the motherboard and decided to get NextPVR working again; I have an HDHomeRun device on the network as well as a Hauppauge tuner card in the PC itself. I would like to store recordings on my Synology NAS and be able to access them from other computers as well as my Samsung Smart TV, but that's another subject altogether.

After upgrading to the latest version, I find that there is no "login" requester as expected when I go to the "localhost:8866" link. Instead I'm taken directly to a "What's New" page, but there is no access to add or edit channels or to modify tuners, guide information, or system settings. Attaching screenshot below.

How do I correct this situation? I see that 3.7.7 is still running alongside the new installation. Do I need to uninstall it completely, and will that affect the recordings previously made with it?

NextPVR on Raspberry Pi - Login Failed
Posted by: PaulM - 2021-09-29, 02:11 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hi,

I've been running NextPVR on a Linux HP desktop server for a while with no problems. I'm trying to reduce our 24/7 power consumption so installed NextPVR on a Raspberry Pi 3 running Raspian Buster (up to date) that I've used for playing Music for a while. I downloaded the 'nextpvr-helper.deb' file and installed it with no problems. NextPVR is running, I can see the status is Ok. I can open the login screen from Chrome (http://127.0.0.1:8866) and from my networked desktop. What I cannot do is log in, the standard admin/password doesn't work, just says 'Login Failed'. I've trawled through Google and found some comments, all suggest using admin/password. I can't find 'nextpvr.conf' but did find /opt/nextpvr/system/data/config-master-don't-edit.conf and that has the correctly hashed 'password' password according to a couple of items I found through Google.

Any suggestions how I can resolve this please ?

Regards
PaulM

Pros and cons of different capture cards for dual PC streaming
Posted by: augusvena - 2021-09-29, 06:57 AM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Hey everyone, I've been playing around with two PC streaming and I've been trying to decide which capture card I want to use for it (streaming through OBS)

Right now I'm using a hauppauge pvr gaming edition 2 since I already had one I bought awhile ago, but I recently got a 1440p monitor so I'd like something that can do that kind of passthrough. I got burned buying the hd pvr pro 60 (whatever it's called, I hate their naming conventions) before finding out it's not supported through OBS. Which cards do you all use, and what are the pros and cons?192.168.0.1 router login 192.168.1.1

Installation failure - Users folder on drive D:
Posted by: Oingofan - 2021-09-29, 04:30 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

Hello all!  First time trying to use NextPVR.  During installation, it appears to install just fine.  It appears all the files are installed and the service is started, but the server won't start and it comes up with a .net framework error.  I even get the tray icon, but it is greyed out and the status window is totally empty.  So, I went into the main program folder and ran the NextPVRServer.exe.  It pulls up a command window (attached) that appears to be not finding files because it is looking in the C:\Users\ folder.  I had to move my Users folder to the D: drive years ago because of C: drive space issues.  Is it possible to specify for NextPVR to look (and possibly install) on the D: drive instead?  thx!

Wayne

  2 Newbie questions
Posted by: RonBo - 2021-09-28, 06:32 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (1)

Hello NPVR community,
I'm very new to NPVR.  Using the PC ver. for a week.

Just FYI... my house is in a canyon that makes receiving OTA channels impossible.
I was a subscriber/donater to LoCast before they closed up.  Now I'm here.

2 Questions:
  1)  Would anyone have a recommendation as to a good source of USA IPTV links for solid reliable local channels?
Willing to subscribe to a service if needed.  I found several IPTV services but they seem a bit questionable.
       Does anyone have a recommendation?

  2)  What is the easiest way to insert a new (.m3u8) link into the channel listing of NPVR when a working link dies?
I am currently editing a hand made .m3u collection of links then going into settings and go thru several
steps to delete the old link and re-import the new.  Then relink the EPG to the channel.
Is there an easier way?

Thanks,
Ron

  Fresh Install Roku app failing.
Posted by: p37307 - 2021-09-28, 01:19 AM - Forum: Roku - Replies (5)

RESOLVED: It was a ROKU.com configuration problem as they migrate developers to a different backend. It is fixed now

Is there a problem adding the channel on Roku? I went to https://my.roku.com/account/add?channel=PK6HQLC which is the URL I have, click through the CAPTCHA and the page refreshes without loading the app on the ROKU. I've tried it on a couple different browsers. Is this a ROKU website issue or do I have the private channel wrong?

The Captcha takes and then the page just refreshes with a blank CAPTCHA and does not proceed. I tried it on two different web browsers and also incognito. After it accepts my Captcha ( pictured  on the right) it refreshes back to blank captcha (left). It doesn't proceed to the channel. It's as if the code is wrong or the channel is gone.

I tested it with another private channel, code AE, (A & E TV) (https://my.roku.com/account/add?channel=ae) and I was able to proceed and add that channel. So, it appears the issue might be with the NPVR roku channel.

Going to https://my.roku.com/account/add and using code PK6HQLC does not work.
