When I go to settings, devices and update, I only click on 1 or 2 categories but all the categories show up when I go to tv guide. Not sure what I am doing wrong

The Windows installer always downloads the latest version from the website.
Sometimes, regressions happen, such as currently with broken subtitles.
It would be really helpful to have a way to reinstall an older version in such cases.
The easiest way would be to have an offline installer, with the version in the filename.
Until then, it seems restoring the entire OS from backup is the only solution to fix the regression
I just have a set of TS files in a directory tree structure (not flat directory). They were recorded with Plex DVR. Plex did a pretty horrible job of being a DVR (no power management was a killer), and was way too unstable to continue to use, unfortunately.
Is there a way to easily add all these TS files to the NextPVR database ?
I tried to add a media folder to the root directory for that tree structure, but that had no effect.
Using a USB keyboard, it looks like when playing back a recorded show, the left arrow key (back) goes back 15 seconds, and the right arrow goes forward 7 seconds. Would it be possible to have more sensible defaults, such as 10 seconds back / 30 second for forward ?
This is more practical when manually skipping commercials - typically going 30 seconds forward at a time, then 10 seconds back if one went too far.
Perhaps others would prefer other values, so making it configurable might make sense.
Another thing I noticed is that playback does not resume until clicking/pressing enter. That makes it really slow to manually skip commercials.
Playback should resume automatically after skipping/rewinding, just like it does in the NextPVR client for Windows.
I installed the Android TV app. I can play live TV just fine with it.
However, I cannot play recorded shows. The problem is that the "Recordings" menu options , namely "Watch" and "Resume" are not selectable with the Chromecast's remote control.
These options work on a smartphone with a touch screen.
Using a USB-C hub, I connected a wireless USB keyboard/trackball . Using the mouse, I was able to click on the "resume/watch" options. At that point, the show started playing just fine.
I think if the UI is changed to allow arrows/enter, these options will work with the remote too, just like the rest of the interface.
Quote:Hello,
I have installed you roku channel, however it crashes whenever i attempt to manual enter the IP address of my NextPVR server (immediately when i click on the option) Is there anything you suggest that i do? I have restarted the roku.
Roku Ultra 2020 version.
Thank you! and thank you for creating this Roku Channel!
I received this post via PM (where I don't do support) and my suggestion would be to remove the channel from you player as I suspect there is an invalid manual configuration saved. It is very important to follow the specified format. I still need to check the code to see if this is the problem but that would be to most likely cause.
I'm new to using the IPTV device functions in NVPR. I've had a look at the instructions, but they don't provide much detail.
I've managed to get some channels working from an .m3u8 link but I can't figure out how to use the filtering in the add-channels dialog to reduce the size of the list of channels, so I'm stuck with trying to wade through 100's of channels from all over the world - a bit fiddley. I've unticked a heap of countries, and tried to use the "filter by Channel Group" but it only offers me "Select All" or "All Channels" as options.
I've also now got a VOD menu item with two Italian channels that don't work - How can I delete them? They don't appear in the Channels list of any device.
As far as IPTV links go, should I stick to only using .m3u rather than .m3u8? (not sure of the difference)
Is there a particular format that I should look for - I saw on Matt Huisman's site that he has Raw, Kodi, or TV-Headend formats - which is best for NPVR?
Apologies if this is Newbie stuff, but I couldn't find anything in the forum that answered my questions.
