Anybody using the integrated GMA950 video chipset for hd playback in PVRX2? If so, which decoder / settings are you using? What is your screen resolution? I am about to try - just want to know if it is feasible and save myself a little time if anybody else is using it.
I have had my GB-PVR and MVP running great for the last couple of years, but a glitch in my old computer forced me to upgrade so I built a new computer with an MSI-K9MM-V motherboard, Nvidia 6200 AGP 256Mb video and a PVR-150 tuner.
When I put everything together I got the GB-PVR interface through the MVP and such things as the TV Guide, Weather, etc were OK, but the video just wouldn't come up.
Fearing that it might be a new network problem with the new machine, I loaded the MVP interface and all the video ran fine and looked great, but still "no joy" with the GB-PVR.
I have changed decoders/encoders (Cyberlink and Nvidia) and all else. I can get video to play with the MVP Service running, but you then can't stop the video without having to reboot... the "stop" button stops, but doesn't return me to menus.
SO... this may be as common as rain, but I'm at a loss as to things to try. PS... changed versions of GB-PVR... wiped everything clean and re-installed, but no change.
I ran into a problem what I think is part of the resume recording feature.
My PC blue screened on me just a few minutes before a recording was supposed to start, but I didn't notice it until a few minutes after the recording should have already been underway. So I restarted the PC and the recording service started the recording. However, when I started to watch it in-progress, I realized it was on the wrong channel. It doesn't appear that the recording service tried to change the channel on the STB.
I cancelled the recording and then selected the program from the Guide to watch it, and the STB's channel was changed as expected.
I've just been processing a bunch of recordings that have been transcoded to Xvid, snipping out the commercials flagged by Comskip.
I've figured out that Comskip can be made to output Virtualdub Config Files, which save the data entry of keying in the frame numbers and automate the deletions of the flagged ads.
I've seen that Virtualdub can be invoked from the command line and passed scripts and arguments.
Rather than reinvent the wheel and experiment my way through Virtualdub's command line syntax, I'm wondering if anybody has figured out the best way to automate this totally.
on my EPG I have the channel CBBC which changes to BBC3 at night and Cbeebies changes BBC4, but it doesn't actually show the programs that are on BBC3 and 4, is there anyway of seperating them out so it picks them up, at the moment it just says CBBC or Cbeebies?
I am a new user and am having problems getting the web scheduling of series to work. I'm using the latest gb-pvr with the yahoo epg plugin and weather.
I click Survivorman for tomorrow night and I get a pop-up window for program information for scheduling a recording. I then click series and back in the main window I get Advanced episode search results. Below the box with the recording info there are two listings, each with two show times.
If I check Any time slot and Any Day to record a whole season and then click record it comes back to this screen and does not add anything to the schedule of things to be recorded.
If I check the boxes next to the individual shows it does add them to the schedule. But I want it to record the whole season.
First, my set-up. Dell 400SC Server P4 2.4ghz, 512MB, 2 80gb hd array, HVR-1600, onboard sound and ati rage pro 128. I will be replacing the video, sound and adding a storage drive after I get some of this working better. I have an LCD TV and basic cable, no STB.
1. I can't seem to get any HD channels set up, either OTA or cable.
2. When I open PVRX2 all I get is the window border, I see nothing. In the window I just see the desktop through it. Is this because my video card sucks?
2. When I try to program a recording of a series with the program it works great. When I try to program it through the web, not so well. What I did was click on the show and when the window opens I click all episodes. It goes back to the main web window. I select any time slot and any day, click record and it goes right back to this window. No recording is set up. Am I doing something wrong here?
3. I have installed weather .98. I don't see it in the plugins in the config and I don't know how to activate it.
4. Can I prevent channel icons from showing up in the program guide?
5. I've done some searching around for information about video cards and have found lots of conflicting information. What would be a good AGP card. I'll be recording SD and hopefully OTA HD.
Are these tuners quite a bit weaker than what's in a TV? I get great pictures bur I'm not doiing well picking them up on the card. I'm using a small basic antenna right now.
6. Is there a basic template that is used for the web program guide? I'd like to mod it a bit?
Thanks for any and all help getting me up and running with this,
