I just bought a Hauppauge HVR-1600 with QAM support. I can get analog cable channels but how do I setup clear QAM HD channels? From GB-PVR configuration, at capture sources tab, what recording source should I choose for QAM? Direct recording plugin, BDA recording plugin, or Go7oo7SB recording?
So I have a problem with the disk space graph which is very odd. If I access the "System" option using the keyboard (i.e. the "enter" key), then the disk space graph displays perfectly and everything is hunky dory. However, if I access the "System" option using my remote (which is a streamzap remote, piping commands through girder) then I get a disk space graph that shows zero space and no info. In my PVRX2.exe.log I see the line:
2008-02-20 11:09:42.482 ERROR [1] Unabled to determine disk usage: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x8001010E): The application called an interface that was marshalled for a different thread. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8001010E (RPC_E_WRONG_THREAD))

Ah ha! a different thread.... hmmmm... Interesting... any ideas?
I'm wondering if anybody else who uses an external program to send keystrokes or windows messages (i.e. Hip, girder, eventghost) sees the same problem.
HI - first off I have to admit that I've been a somewhat casual user and not explored what gbpvr can really do - suffice it to say just the obvious bits are impressive enough!
My setup has GBPVR 1.1.5 running on an XP machine driving a Hauppauge MVP. The only content I'm working with is my itunes library and downloaded movies etc.
Recently on several occasions playback just bombs straight out, usually after say 20-30 minutes of watching a 60 minute AVI, resetting the whole MVP back to the garish blue hauppauge screen, it takes a minute or two to get back to the gbpvr screen menu. I'd like to get to the bottom of why this is - especially because - also I've never had FF or Rewind work - pressing FF brings up a slider bar at the top of teh screen and occasionally I can FF about 20s but I can't skip thru major sections to get back to 30 mins in to a prog for instance.
What do I need to look at/for to track down the cause of this?
When I attempt to update EPG, authentication succeeds, displays "updating EPG" but about 20 seconds later I get an XML exception error:
"UpdateEPG()'ing: System.Xml.XmlException: The 'lineup' start tag on line 517 does not match the end tag of 'lineups'. Line 600, position 3.

I'm don't know anything about XML but it looks like there is confusion between the word "lineup" in line 517 vs. "lineups" in Line 600. I cant find any such words or lines in the GBPVR files except in the error logs. Would appreciate any help.
I seem to pick up the DVB-T test channels in NZ fine, but when running Live TV in gbpvr I get choppy playback. I'm using a Compro T750 Dual DVB-T/Analog Tuner. I have Powerdvd Ultra as I am able to watch my bluray movies on my HTPC, so I know I have the h.264 codec. I also have a fairly fast computer with a Core 2 Duo processor, 3GB RAM and an Asus 2600XT graphics card.
Now are there any settings that I need to make in order to get this to work. Thanks.
When I try to scan for digital channels it tells me that it is unablt to start the BDA device and please check the configuration. I checked the BDa file but can't seem to find the problem.
Hi
Has anyone managed to get the Winfast (leadtek) DVT1000 S up and running?
I've added in the bda section to the appropriate file and it gets detected okay, but when it comes to scanning channels it gets part way through and a nasty unhandled exception is then thrown (see attachment).
I'm not sure if this matters but sometimes it seems to list correct channel names and sometimes it just lists "unknown 1 unknown 2 etc. It always crashes as the exact same point however. I've tried both the drivers that came with it and the latest ones from the winfast. As an experiment I managed to get media portal to run the card which just confused me even more.
Any help would be greatly appreciated at this point.
