I bought a STB on eBay and have recorded the first episode of Ken Burn's documentary "The War". There are three more episodes that I'll record and then burn to DVD. I haven't been able to play the file. I see there is a free download on Brothersoft.
What do I need to play these files? Software? A particular type of card? I'm new at this so be gentle. Ken in Toowoomba
I would very muck like the opportunity to choose from the different streams embedded in a .ogg movie-file, ie. choose alternate audio (if present) and choose subtitle (if present). In fact, in my opinion ogg should be the recommended format for video-library files
I queue up a bunch of tracks, which start playing (first one I queue). I go into playlist screen, and hit the yellow button, but nothing comes up to save it.
Hi
Maby this has been discussed before but i cant find it...
What about recording more than one channel at the same time? This can be done with media portal and fireDtv so gbpvr ? possible?
I´m using a firedtv/T and i know limitations are that the channels has to be on the same MUX (freq). It should also be possible to record encrypted channels.
Is it possible to use gbpvr to record encrypted channels from Boxer(Sweden) dvb-t and is it possible to recorde multiple channels at once using a fireDtv card and GBPvr
?
I've been using GB-PVR for a few days now with an HVR-1300. It is an excellent piece of software.
I am mainly using the web interface in IE 7.
I've got a problem creating a manual recording using 'Manual Record' under the 'TV Guide' tab.
I enter the details
The Last Enemy
BBC1
17/02/2008
21:00
22:30
Keep 5 recordings
Every Week
quality High
pre 3 mins
post 0 mins
The dates and times are entered using the GUI popup windows.
When I hit record I get the following 'String was not recognized as a valid DateTime' error.
Quote:Server Error in '/gbpvr' Application.

I got this error whatever details I attempt to use ... even if I leave the time and date as the default.
Any help would be appreciated.
(I was previously using PowerCinema but GB-PVR is nicer and more reliable. And free. Keep up the good work!)
Where is the download to this file? I can't find it. Thanks,
marcio

Alternate 'Sorry' Video...
And another cool thing. If you transcode fails immediately or within the first few seconds, ZProcess quickly copies a prexisting movie in place of the one that was supposed to be there. GB-PVR is happy it has a file, and doesn't go to the blue screen. The video I use is a 2 Mb video I produced, that simply says, "Sorry for the inconvenience but your show will be delayed. Try again in a few minutes..."
I like this so much better than having the MVP crash...
You will need to download my video separately, or grab your own MPG and name it ZProcess-Sorry.mpg and store it in the base of the Recordings folder (as set in GB-PVR config)
I have this extra tweak in config.xml/MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLineNTSC: -ar 48000
After adding ZProcess (and then removing because it just does not work on my system - see my other post about 82% forever) it reverted MVPFFmpegTranscodeCmdLineNTSC to teh original value, without me -ar 48000. Thsi is unfortunate because without this option, AVIs encoded with MJPG crash MediaMVP because ffmpeg crashes (see my thread on MJPG).
Can ZProcess2 remove itself and restore the command as it was originally? Thanks.
I am trying ZProcess2 because I am interested in the caching feature. I use it with a MediaMVP. When I play a 15-second video (AVI from digital camera - MJPG codec), I notice this:
1) Sound comes out of my sound card on my PC
2) MediaMVP reboots
3) A cached MPG is created under Q:\PVR\Recordings (and it works)
4) The taskbar has a blinking lightning bolt with tooltip saying "transcoding..."
If I double-click teh icon, teh UI says it is at 82%, and stays at that forever.
Things went down hard last night. No error in the logs, but I did find an application error for the recording service in the system's event log this morning. I've attached the logs and a screenshot of the error.
