  Leadtech WinFast HDTV Cinema Support
Posted by: lester - 2008-02-16, 11:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (15)

Is there any possibility of future Leadtech WinFast HDTV Cinema Support? I downloaded the program because I was curious as to what everybody was saying and saw the screenshots, looks like an awesome program, just only has 1 drawback so far, I can only see 1 leadtech card listed in the setup menu. If this is the only one supported, it wont work with my Leadtech WinFast HDTV Cinema card, I am using OTA and I do like the web radio option, the program looks awesome compared to the one bundled with my card (ArcSoft Total Media). Hope there is a driver or something, let me know if someone has a driver or if there is one in the works. Thanks//LESTER

  Recording format
Posted by: Otter - 2008-02-16, 11:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

This may be in the wrong forum, if so, apologies

When I record a program, the file is always ".dvr-ms"

The Wiki mentions that I can run a bat file to convert this to a .avi file, but does not mention how this is done, or how I go about getting the software to do so

Help?

  Tailers play, but no Video...
Posted by: thetmaxx - 2008-02-16, 09:47 PM - Forum: International Cinema Listings, RSS Reader, WebCams, Calendar, Files and Screen Saver - Replies (5)

OK, I'm slowly getting ICL working. I found how to get QT Alt. and got it installed, now it plays the trailers, but only audio, no video. Is there a simple setting i missed in the QT Settings?
BTW, PVRX2, I think I'm using the regular VMR 9. I can FF and RW the trailers too, just no video.

Thanks!

Been using for many months without problem, but no E4?
Posted by: Nick_Walton - 2008-02-16, 09:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi,
Sorry if this has been mentioned before, but having done a search on the forum for 'e4' I haven't found any results.

Basically I've been using GB-PVR for many months now on two seperate setups, one just using the webinterface to schedule recordings and playback via Xbox', the other in a fully fledged HTPC environment. Problem is, I can't get E4 to show up using DVB tuners at all, yet I can get E4 +1?

This hasn't been a problem as I've had nothing to record on these channels before, but now I do...

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Nick

  Questions regarding HiDef cable
Posted by: philly_phenom - 2008-02-16, 09:10 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I love my current GBPVR setup, but am ready to step up to HD, but have a couple of questions for other users who have already taken the plunge.

We have Comcast here, and even though the HDHomerun supports QAM, everything but local channels is encrypted, so if I want ESPN-HD or other cable channels, I need to get a STB - which the HDHomerun does not support.

1st: Which HD Card(s) are you all having success with when used with a STB.

2nd: I currently have a dual tuner setup. Can one PC control multiple STB's? Is it just a matter of configuring multiple USB UIRT devices?

Comcast's DVR is dual tuner & supports HD, but the user interface is terrible, slow & it only stores 15 hours of HD content (not to mention that you can't stream the media to other rooms)

Audio sync issues with HDTV recordings and BDA ATI mux
Posted by: vmq - 2008-02-16, 07:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

This is just a FYI type of message, I hope this is the right forum for this.

When doing QAM HDTV recordings using the ATI mux the created mpg file has lots of audio sync issues. It was OK to play back the file, but de-muxing it and lead to a massive amount of audio sync complains by the de-muxer. (I use ProjectX to demux, clean-up and retime the recordings. Those of you who can read german, please find more details here )

Anyway, I just wanted to say that using the TS mux solved the audio sync problems.

  remove keeping aspect ratio
Posted by: Basher52 - 2008-02-16, 07:25 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Is there a way to remove GBPVR to keep the aspect ratio?

Sometimes I want the frame to fit the screen better when I'm doing something in the background and the GBPVR box is in the way... covering too much.
I sometimes need to, lets say, make it more uneven and in that case I don't care about the aspect ratio, just make it sit in a corner so I can keep an eye on it.
And of course I keep it on top.

  PostProcessing.bat (sample)
Posted by: pvruser - 2008-02-16, 07:19 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (9)

i've been working on setting up a nice DVR-system that works as automated/unsupervised as possible yet still doesnt mess up my PC (i'm using the same system for HTPC and normal home PC). for those of you who want smth to start with, here it is!

(had to split in into multiple posts)

Quote:@echo off
Rem PostProcessing.bat
Rem This script will be run automatically by GBPVR (when found) after a recording is finished
Rem To enable it put this file inside your GBPVR default program directory (C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\)
Rem The script is called with two parameters
Rem %1 is the fully qualified name of the recorded mpeg file.
Rem %2 is the channel number of the recording

REM Cancel any Shutdown session
psshutdown -a

set gbpvr_dir=%ProgramFiles%\devnz\gbpvr

set logfile="%gbpvr_dir%\logs\postproc.log"
SET checkfile="%gbpvr_dir%\progress.txt"

rem flags to be used for standby decision
set recording_pending=no
set time_to_recording=30
set transcoding_now=yes

echo finished recording... channel %2, file %1... checking if we need to sleep... >> %logfile%
date /t >> %logfile%
time /t >> %logfile%

REM clean up temporary files
if exist %checkfile% del %checkfile%

rem decide how to handle recordings based on chan rez and possibly name or other things like that
rem make sure HD recordings that you want to keep as HD do NOT go to conversion!
echo %2 %1

rem get the subtitles - but we need to sync them first (and that means pre-parse mpeg2 to mpeg2 remove bad frames before ccextractor - too much overhead for now and ccextractor samples were not that great - lots of missing chars or sync issues)
rem echo getting subtitles...

  Choppy after commercial is skipped
Posted by: chemie - 2008-02-16, 06:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (17)

I use COMSKIP. When watching via playback, whenever the shows skips the commercials and continues to play the show after the just skipped section, the video gets choppy. It stays this way. I have to hit pause, wait a few seconds, and then hit play to fix it.

Note that there is no recording going on and the PC is high powered enough to have no issues on CPU or disk access. It only gets choppy right after the segment of commercials is automatically skipped in play back.

Thoughts?
