I have a ATI PCI 550 Tv tuner with radio, I used it on another pc fine for both TV and radio. On this other PC, I have only weather and community skin 3 on it, disabled the community skin 3 on it. Under Config.exe I have FM Radio plugin checked and plugins enabled checked. On the main menu it will not appear. I can make System, DVD, or Net Radio, etc denable and disable, but why no FM radio?
Today I could watch live TV but when I would record I got a black screen. I uninstalled GBPVR, re-installed, now I get a black screen trying to watch live TV, but now get something when I record? Looks like it's either or, not both. Not trying to do both at the same time.
All I did between it working fine and now is install Adobe Reader.
Sub, I have to say after trying many PVR softwares, I find that GB-PVR is the best. Thanks a million!!
I was just wondering if any progress has been made into speeding up channel changes in timeshift mode. I saw this post http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=13294 but it's over two years old. I had to turn off timshifting because of 10-15 second channel changes.
I have a Hauppage 1600 and I cant get it to find any channels.
also the cable is split before it gets to the cablbe box but it doesnt seem to affect the tv at all so... idk whats going on or what to do.
I did a rescan with win tv and it found two channels so I looked at channel 4, which is one of the channels it found and channel 4 shows what ever channel my digital cable is sitting on. So I can change the channel with my remote and I see it in WinTV changing channels. So my cable works there, but when
I try to scan in config mode to do mapping it doesnt find any channels.
I just did some tweaking on my Guide. I manually added channels and in the guide it shows the channel and the information but when I try to go the watch or live tv it gives me an error: Index was outside the bounds of the array.
Is that because when I scanned I hadnt found any channels?
I actually have two problems, installing the patches from the survival guide and the system not waking from standby to record. I figured I wait on the patches before asking about the record problem.
Anyway, I can download the zip files for the updates just fine, but my XP box says that they're password protected and I can't extract them. What's the password?
*included no logs as there are no crashes
*Only plugin is Weather
*GBPVR 1.1.5
I have just a couple issues that I don't get.
The worst is that I can't record a season. It simply doesn't mark it for recording at all. I can record individual shows just fine.
The other is that Play All doesn't work in GBPVR2 for mp3's. It'll play one song, then stop. It does this for any folder. It works fine in GBPVR (old interface).
I've made a C# exe that can be run at the DOS prompt to insert recordings into the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table by supplying arguments to it ( download link and syntax at bottom of this post )
My problem is that these RECORDING_SCHEDULE rows are only picked up and acted on by the recording service unless either:
a) I stop and restart the service after running my exe ( unsatisfactoy since it may break a recording in progress )
or
b) Any schedules that my exe inserts that are scheduled to follow recordings scheduled via the usual PVR2 GUI *are* picked up after a "GBPVR GUI-inserted" recording starts.
When first proposing this exe, sub suggested I needed to run "PVRX2.exe -OnlyUpdateEPG" after inserting a row, but doing this does not fix the problems described above.
Please, please, please, is it possible that PVRX2.exe could be given a new command line option to force it to re-look at the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table and take notice of any new *externally* inserted rows ?
This would make my exe useful for any number of other apps to be able to integrate with GBPVR i.e. other EPG services, or remote SMS schedulers.
<path to gbpvr db> = the fullpath to where you have installed the gbpvr.db3 file e.g. "c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\gbpvr.db3"
<prepad mins> = number of pre-padding minutes for this recording e.g. 2
<endpad mins> = number of post-padding minutes for this recording e.g. 10
<channel number> = the number you have assigned the channel you want to record e.g. 4
<programme starttime> = start time of recording in format "YYYY-MM-DD HH:MI" e.g. "2008-02-11 21:30" ( for 9:30pm on Feb 11th 2008 )
All the above arguments are mandatory, the next two are optional and if left out the exe will query the GBPVR EPG data and get the end time and programme name automatically.
[programme endtime] = end time of recording, in the same format as the start time
[recording filename] = The name you want GBPVR to give the recording file e.g. "Manual Recording 3"
If you do specify an endtime and recording filename, the recording event will be entered as a GBPVR "manual recording" , rather than a named programme recording.
-----
Errors:
The exe does not check for typos in arguments, so will crash if given invalid input.
You may see the following errors reported:
Quote:ERROR: Non-manual recording requested, but GBPVR could not find a programme in it's EPG data at that time for the requested channel - try again, but specify an end time and a recording filename to set a manual recording
This means you specified a channel number and start time and expected GBPVR to find the end time and programme name automatically but it could not find EPG data for that channel at that time. You could force a manual recording for the same channel and start time by running the recgbpvr.exe again and adding the end time and recording filename arguments
Quote:ERROR: GBPVR has not been set up for that channel - recording not scheduled
You probably mistyped the channel number!
Quote:ERROR: No free recording source available at that time for that channel - recording not scheduled
All your recording sources that carry the channel you want to record are busy at the time you requested
I am very close to finish automating my GBPVR living room setup. I have GBPVR running from a shell looking spiffy. I have all the EPG, web admin, and automatic comcut and comskip working perfectly. All I have is the standby issue. The computer automatically goes into standby after 5 minutes of inactivity. I would like to be able to wake it up using the remote control but it doesn't look possible so far. It'd be pretty inconvenient reaching into the back of the tube and pressing that flashing button. Can this problem be fixed?
I also have an issue where the TV "monitor" does not get a signal from the computer when it wakes up from standby. Can this problem be fixed too?
ANY information at all about these two issues is much appreciated...
Went to start GBPVR but hit 'Re-register filters' instead (shame they are next to each other in the start menu).
Now Live TV does not work at all. GBPVR reports "Object reference not set to an instance"...or something like that. PVRX2 does not report an error but just goes back to the menu.
Also 'Resume' no longer works on DVD's, and it takes ages for a DVD file to start playing.
So what have I done by re-registering the filters? And how do I fix it?
