Moviewiz 1014 - Request - copy details from one show to another
Posted by: jksmurf - 2008-02-01, 04:12 AM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (8)

Hi JW,

I'd like the ability for MW to automatically copy show details from one show to another for an EXACT name match.

I believe this will stop a false IMDB lookup and download of the wrong movie details many times for a series.

e.g I have a prison of war camp series called Changi (Singapore), which MW downloads each time as the movie "Changing Lanes" with Samuel L Jackson it now shows I have 14 copies of this movie!

I added the details to the first show manually, but what I'd REALLY like for MW to do is once I have added all the details for those subsequent shows called Changi EXACTLY the same as the first one, to COPY those details to any show called JUST "Changi" in future.

I reckon that could be a good addition!

MovieWiz 1014 Archive Query & Log
Posted by: jksmurf - 2008-02-01, 04:07 AM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (7)

JW,

Could you please explain the Archiving sequence?

"Mark missing entries as hidden" and "If entry is not found mark it as hidden so it will not show in the plugin"

I tried the Sync, but it gave me a wee note with "4 errors' errors (refer attached)

I got a lot of these too... ??

Code:
Index was outside the bounds of the array.

  MovieWiz v1.0.14.0 Released
Posted by: JavaWiz - 2008-02-01, 03:11 AM - Forum: SearchWiz & MovieWiz - Replies (54)

New version of MovieWiz released. I didn't get all the new features I wanted added, but I will be travelling next week and wanted to release what I had completed. I won't be able to fix bugs until I get back, but I will key an eye on the forum and respond to what I can.

There are quite a few changes in this version, I may have missed documenting a few of them.

Enjoy...

01/31/2008 : 1.0.14.0 (WizUiHelper 1.0.15.3, WizWebHelper 1.0.5.1)

  • MovieWizManager - Added to Start-Programs button under GB-PVR→WizTools
  • MovieWizManager - Added command-line batch interface. From CMD prompt, type MovieWizManager -help for syntax.
  • Config - Added Client mapping to allow client to play movies located on directories on the server. The idea is to map server local path to UNC which gets translated at runtime.
  • Config - Add ability to sort by create date in config program. This should make it easier to identify and manage newly loaded entries.
  • Config - Added Archive Sync ability to adjust db for archived videos. If entry is not found on file system, program scans archive directories/sub directories and adjusts db entry to found location.
  • Config - Add ability to load and play DVDs images from the hard drive.
  • Plugin - When playing a category (Press play when Category list has focus), you can now Play All, Play Random, or Cancel.
  • Modified WizWebHelper to get better hit ratio on Yahoo for thumbnails.
  • Added option in config to control the Whats New category. If checked, once a movie is viewed, it will be dropped from Whats New, if not checked, it will stay in Whats new until the # of days expires.
  • Added PlayCategoriesPopup.xml skin

Capture Source Priority Doesn't Stick (and forum search problems)
Posted by: tieke - 2008-02-01, 01:35 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I know that sub once posted a solution to this problem, but search as I might, I can't find it - basically I would like to put my DVB capture source at the top of the list rather than my PVR one, but although I can use the buttons to move it to the top of the list in the config, when I save and reopen config it has reverted to the original order.

tieke.

ps - is there any way to make the forum search only on _all_ your search terms? I've tried quotes, +, AND etc, and basically the search appears to be only an "OR" one - the more terms I add, the less successful the search (I have to try to search on unusual phrases if trying to find a post, as just mentioning terms such as "tuner" or "priority" in the search field immediately blows the results out to the 500 max). EDIT - Apparently not Smile

dual PVR-150 tuner cards - help?
Posted by: cY2k - 2008-02-01, 01:25 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (1)

I just want to verify how this works before I go out and buy something... I tried to search a bit, but couldn't find anything very easily. So, I thought maybe someone would be kind enough to answer my questions.

So, I have 1 PVR-150 (non-MCE) card right now, and I use the standard IR receiver and remote that it came with. I'd like to add in a second tuner card so that I can record/watch 2 shows at once.

How exactly does this work? Say, for example, I bought a PVR-150 MCE version, the ones that don't come with remotes. I know that you just go into Config and set it up as a 2nd Capture source, but how will my remote work with it? Since the remote I'm using now is plugged in through the existing PVR-150...

I'm assuming this is a pretty standard setup, having 2 PVR-150's, since they're so common. So, I'm just hoping that someone can give me some pointers here.

Thanks!!!

  MediaMonkey 3 plugin
Posted by: peter_h - 2008-02-01, 12:16 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

MediaMonkey 3 is just brilliant for managing really large audio collections. I swear by it, over other options.

However, it doesn't do video.

I'd love a MM3 plugin for GBPVR, so I can access the MM3 db and playlists from my TV (read only - since modification/playlist creation/& tag editing is best done in MM3)....oh, except Ratings, which I like to rate as I hear tracks from a random autoplaylist.

  Log Stream Discontinuities
Posted by: cdldt - 2008-01-31, 10:54 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

One feature I would love to see is a log-file for recordings that lists the recording name and the number of stream discontinuities encountered, for DVB/ATSC.

That way, if you record a particular programme at different showing times, you can quickly see if one of them is better than the other. Perhaps one is recorded during the week at 5pm and has 20 discontinuities but another recorded at 2am and has 0 discontinuities. You can quickly see which one to discard and which to keep. Perhaps then in the event of a PC with multiple (unused) tuners it would even be possible to do a feature whereby every instance of a program is recorded automatically (from the EPG) and then the one with the lowest error count and highest bitrate is automatically retained.

Upgrade XP Media Center to Vista Business Dilemma
Posted by: Strygun - 2008-01-31, 10:01 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (12)

Hey all,

I am currently using Windows XP Media Center on my laptop. My university, however, is going to give me access to a full version of Vista Business through the MSDN program. I'm very excited about this except for one thing: Vista Business doesn't support Media Center.

I use Media center quite often for recording/watching TV. I currently use an HP ExpressCard Analog TV Tuner that came with my laptop to connect it to the cable TV (co-ax).

I discovered GB-PVR as an alternative to Media Center, however, I don't think GB-PVR will work with the HP ExpressCard Analog TV Tuner that I'm using. Can anyone shed some light on this issue, and/or recommend another alternative to getting a PVR on Vista Business?

Thanks!

  Video distorted
Posted by: MJW - 2008-01-31, 09:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

the live tv/recordings are distorted when i watch them on my computer there is a black strip on the top and bottom of the screen, the menus are fine. I have tried setting it to both 4:3 and 16:9 in config, but it doesn't make a difference.

Any suggestions??

Sweet, and CHEAP remote from Radio Smack
Posted by: mkenyon2 - 2008-01-31, 08:16 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (21)

I was in radio shack the other day, and I always look at remotes. Complication of remotes is an issue with the wife.

So, I see this 7-in-1 remote for $14.99.

I look through the manual, and see that it doesn't do Hauppauge, but it does do Media Center PC, Microsoft, and Logitech. It will learn and it does Macros.

I bought it, brought it home, and within half an hour had it running everything in my system!!!

It even maps volume control. We watch cable through the TV mostly, and volume is through the TV. Everything else goes through the receiver. It was a pain to be running the DVD player, and have to switch the remote to the receiver, change the volume, then go back to DVD mode.

With this one, you lock all (except for the TV) the devices to the receiver for volume. It's sweet!!!

For the Hauppauge stuff, I remapped the input controls and PIP controls at the bottom. Most of the other controls were already mapped.

This is the second Radio Smack remote I've gotten to use with my Media setup. I have a 6-in-1 voice prompt remote that actually has Hauppauge codes in it that was once $20!!!
