It's been quite some time since I last posted - never had a puter that could handle video. Now I have (and a PVR150 card) and I want to investigate GB-PVR again. Couple of questions I couldn't find in the forums...
1 - What sort of resources does GB-PVR take? More interested in the TVrecording side (Running from systray only). I ask this since the puter I'd be running GB-PVR from is my main puter.
2 - I can only assume GB-PVR hands off the recoding to the PVR150 - so basically works as if I was running the standard HauP S/Ware (resources again)?
3 - The recorded image file (.mpg) is the same as if it was recorded from the HauP S/ware? (sorry if this is a dumb question)
4 - Wake from Standby/Sleep after recording is supported?
5 - IR blaster from MCE version of PVR150 works with GB-PVR
I was using a .9 version of GB-PVR to play movies, music and photos only (did not record anything) and find the new version is slow on my older computer. Where can I get an older version of the program?
I've been having some USB problems so I recently made the following change in config.xml
<RecycleUSBUIRT>true</RecycleUSBUIRT>
(instead of the default false)
I had to make this change to hopefully fix the problems i'm having with the USB devices locking up. I'm running Vista 32bit.
Now, I think i've solved the problem when using PVRX2. The program changes channels correctly through the USBUIRT to my satellite box. However, when I stream using EWA it doens't seem to actually send out an IR signal. I see this in the log
When I select "GB-PVR" from the SlimSystray Icon i get this error message "Sorry, this system does not support the required VMR9 video renderer" then a balloon pops up over the icon saying "Loading GB-PVR" but nothing happens.
I have configured GB-PVR to run "Overlay Manager" as I'm not certain VMR9 is possible on my system (On-board graphics).
GB-PVR starts normally from it's own systray icon. What is happening? Thx as always.
I might be barking up the wrong tree, but is there any way to get GBPVR to take 3-digit channel input? I'd like to go straight to channel 102 by hitting 1, 0, 2, enter on the remote. Right now it clears all digits when I hit the third.
It could be just a setting for my remote (Harmony 680), which didn't occur to me until i started typing this, but I thought I'd ask anyways. I did search and found nothing specific to help me out.
Today I attempted to install VA and get it working with DVD Decrpyter. It seems to work ok, except it keeps wanting to rip the wrong DVD track. Are there some changes I need to make in order to get it to rip "the big" file?
FYI, the DVD is Fracture, and it seem to just want to give me a preview for some english Dr. Jekell Mr. Hyde movie!
Ever since I bought my plasma tv and hooked up the plasma with the vga plug, I get black rolling bars when watching videos on my pc. I don't see the rolling bars any other time... only when watching videos. I don't think that its my graphics card, because I had the same problem with my old graphics card. It seems to have something to do with the vga connection. Any ideas?
I have an ACPI enabled uniprocessor PC (as per the Device Manager in Windows XP) that doesn't have any standby options in the Windows XP Power Management Panel. I double checked it supported ACPI in the BIOS, but just simply couldn't get it to work.
P.S. I am running BootToGBPVR with all the steps enabled. I think this might have something to do with it... After I did all of these steps, things started going screwy...
