I was wondering if anyone could share their experience of getting the BBC HD trial working nicely. I am using my shuttle system with an HD2400 (see sig)- SD is now silky smooth- I applied the patch on this site http://home.comcast.net/~exdeus/ati-hd2x00/ - this really helped. I only need to sort out noticable red colour bleed (I have to use S-video) and some tearing at the bottom of the screen.
Now I am moving on to get H264 working for the BBC HD- at the moment it is working (Cyberlink codec + FSE), but with low framerates and bad multiple horizontal tears. I have a feeling that for some reason the onboard hardware accel on the HD2400 isn't being used. Can anyone who has "been there and done that" point me in the right direction?
I have a 550. How do you have your remote set up so that it goes to the main menu of gb-pvr by default when "powering on"? Mine always goes to System Settings instead. Thanks
I'm new to skin editing (although I was a programmer years ago ).
I've removed the channel name in the Community3 TV guide skin and reduced it to Icon only. I now want to move the "listing date" off the timeline in the TV guide so I can move the whole guide left to close the gap where the channel name was and allow me to increase the timeline.
I can see how to remove the "listing date" but I thought it would be easy to put it somewhere else on the top of the screen .
When I create a position and Compositeimage for the date, instead of the date I get "@visibleDate2" in text on the screen.
The line I used is :- <DrawText text="@visibleDate2" loc="0,5" size="25,90" textStyle="TimelineStyle" align="Center" valign="center"/>
Is what I'm trying possible or can you only use the "@visibleDate2" definition within the "Timeline" CompositeImage?
Any help appreciated
P.S. Has anyone created any guide to Skin programming syntax/rules etc?
if I enable EWA on a client PC it serves up 'empty' pages (guide, video and music librarys etc). Is there a way round this?
My thinking behind this is was to lighten the load on my main pc (the gbpvr server) - but I also realise that it's still the server that will be file serving and transcoding to the client, so I would also ask if there's actually any real benefit to my plan....
I was wondering how to get the nice station logos on the tv guide. I'm using yapi2xml via Yahoo to get the EPG through xmltv.
Also, from some of the screenshots, there seems to be some tv guide or EPG sources that give a bunch more information that what I'm currently getting. I'm not seeing too much information and also I don't see where it says repeat or new shows.
Ever since I updated to the current version of GB-PVR I've been having an odd problem when playing back downloaded HD video. If I have recently restarted the computer, or GB-PVR the video will play fine. If however the computer and program has been running for say 48 or more playing HD quality video is a mess. The audio is still ok but the video slows to a crawl. If I restart the computer, or as I later discovered PVRX2 I can then play the video back just fine. I'm concerned that there is a memory issue as when the problem occurs pulling up the task manager will usually list PVRX2 using something in the neighborhood of 350megs of ram!
I've tried already updating video drivers, and trying different codecs, and I've done a repair install of GBPVR, all to no avail, so I'm hoping someone else has encountered the same problem. =)

I have Cyberlink Playmovie 1.5 which is a plugin for Vista MCE.
It has hardware acceleration for ATI and NVIDIA, Mpeg2 decoder, BD Decoder and HD-DVD decoder.
When checker via XP Decoder Checkup tool it presents itself as a CyberLink Video/SP Decoder.
When looking through the list of Mpeg-2 decoder in Playback and DVD its not listed.
Great features and allows Blu-Ray and HD-DVD within the same decoder pack.
Seems logically if I set the Play movie plugin as my system default and GB-PVR to use system default then all should be fine... No... Setting a default manually in Vista is not that easy. XP Checkup tool doesn't seem to do much from a default decoder point of view... But gives great info.
Has anyone every tried to use the Cyberlink Playmovie? Or knows how to successuly change the default MPEG-2 decoder in Vista?
