After installing this patch to the devnz directory my GBPVR doesn't work. When I go to run the config to start the tray icon etc. when I say OK it hangs with an error. (It has the same date as the patch now -13.11.07)
"unhandled exception has occured ... cannot start service"
As far as I am aware this is the only thing that I changed - to improve the MP3 playing abaility.
It was working OK before - mainly watching divx movies.
Using Windows 2003 Server on a HP Proliant machine.
I have PVRX2 running on my main PC cabled to my TV with an Rf remote etc. but Ive just installed win2k on an old P3 laptop which I would like hack into a standalone media player networked to the main PC and connected to the tv so I can have my kids movies, music and some old game emus available on the laptop HDD without tying up the main PC.
Is it possible to run PVRX2 on win 2k? I can get GBPVR to run but I was hoping for PVRX2 I keep running into VMR9 errors and I cant install anything better than WMP9 on win2k. :-(
I started setting this up on a Windows 2003 Server machine (64-bit). There are problems with the capture device. I'm able to use the TunerAssistant and pick up a lot of channels, but when I start the digital/analog channel mapping it finds either 6 or no channels.
The server specs are as follows
OS : Windows 2003 Server
CPU : Intel Dual Core (2.2)
RAM : 6 GB
HD's : 80GB+320GB
TV Card : ATI TV Wonder HD650
GBPVR v1.1.5
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve this problem?
I'm using yapi (or whatever it's called) to get program guide info. I wanted to get some more information from it so I configured ultraxmltv to do that. It says there's a bunch of tags on the gui, I select them, configure everything per instructions, update and.... nothing. NOTHING I try allows for any extra information. I even try the update directly to database and I just get nothing. I spent like 4 hours on this and it just doesn't do anything.
Is it possible the Yahoo source doesn't have any more information?
I'm am totally out of ideas. Maybe another enhancement program? I tried the EPG one for about an hour with no luck when I realized it no longer worked because it only works with the now defunct zap2it service.
I really love this product, but the documentation and instructions on many of the plugins leave ALOT to be desired.
I finally got ubustream installed, downloaded rss feeds for some youtube videos, but it just won't launch. I get some wierd error from VLC when I launch externally. When I try to time shift it, it says buffering for a few seconds and then nothing happens.
I'll be travelling for work the next two weeks, so wont be about as much as normal. I'll still manage to log on most days, and respond to most questions, but I wont be floating about all day like I normally do.
After I'm back things should settle down, and I'll start gearing up towards the next GB-PVR release.
those of us with young kids know that some channels are just not appropriate for them--from programming to commercials. what i'd like to see is a way to have all channels in the capture source(s) epg be available on the gbpvr host, but not be accessible on the mediamvp, while viewing live tv. that is, have a seperate epg for the mvp. think of this as a "v-chip."
would it be possible for the config utility to have the option to select seperate epg file in the mvp tab?
Been having some trouble with one of my plugins - think I make have found a cause.
Found that i was getting a big 'ol system crash when starting in config.
In the logs is the config.exe-withSkinPlugin.log. Gets DLL errors (around line 126)
The thing is, SkinPlugin isn't mine and so doesn't have the dll it's looking for - which is fair enough. The error is that config.exe seems to be trying to look there, and is not looking in the MusicLibrary2 directory where it should be.
In the second log in similar location, I've removed the skinPlugin and everything is fine.
Threw me for a loop as my dev machine wouldn't have the same prob lem only my prod machine.
Currently I run DVB and DeepFreeze 5. For those that don't know what deepfreeze is, it's a program that will "lock" or "freeze" your computer to a specific state. Any changes that are made after the "freeze" has been applied will be null and void upon reboot. This is really helpful in keeping windows exactly the way you set it up.
The only problem I'm having is that when I do a reboot, the epg is lost. If I can find the default database (live TV/TV Guide), I can do a bat file to copy the file to a unfrozen (thawed) drive before the scheduled reboot, and then another bat file that will run upon startup, copy the database back. Then of course the gbpvr update epg will follow that.
So I need the filename and location of the epg for the default guides.
On another note, The PVRX2 program is awesome!
Using an AMD 2600, ASUS A7N8X Deluxe, 512mb ram, Geforce 7600GTS, 1020A Twinhan, ATI Remote Wonder II, Thermaltake Bach Media Lab Case, MPV Decoder Filter, Dscaler Audio Decoder.
The picture quality is amazing and it runs completely flawless. No stutter. No anything. Recording is great! I love the ability to watch a recorded movie (or do something else) while recording another! Running a recording service is genius! Great work guys!
