Hi,
I set-up some radio channels to test which are appearing fine on the NextPVR web app with the correct Groups, but when I start Kodi the only radio group I'm getting is for 'All Channels'.
I should have 2 groups called:-
1) Absolute
2 Easy Listening
For the channels in the 'Absolute' Group, I created a m3u file and used the tag group-title="Absolute". The 'Easy Listening' Group contains 2 radio channels configured using a Hauppauge USB tuner. I manually created this group and added the 2 radio radio. All the channels are using Schedules Direct Guide data.
Not sure what's causing the issue, as all the channels are appearing in Kodi with the correct guide data, just not the groups. Is this likely to be down to NextPVR not passing the radio group info onto Kodi, or Kodi not picking this info up?
Also, as a side question, are radio channels quite slow to open? I've tried 3 different clients with Kodi and all seem to be quite slow at opening Radio channels. The 2 channels I configured from the Hauppauge USB tuner are the slowest to open using both the NextPVR Web App and Kodi which was a bit of a surprise I must admit. The other 3 channels on the m3u file are channel strms extracted from my Enigma2 STB.
Any feedback or pointers to help problem solve the issue would be highly appreciated.
Cheers
I have the bits for a new computer and before putting it together I'd like to know how I can move the existing setup.
I have a number of series booked for recording as well as the existing stuff recorded and would like to keep them as is.

Problem whatching test channel HEVC (new italian standard from september), Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)
Hello, just wondering if it is possible to change the channel inputs of my saved Colossus card configuration in the NextPVR web app?.
I currently use HDMI video input and HDMI audio input for my colossus card.
Have been using the Dolby Digital 5.1 audio from my STB, and it works really well with Kodi Matrix on my Windows PC, and also with my NVidia Shields running Kodi Matrix. For whatever reason, I don't require delays or anything when blasting on the above clients, and it works really well.
However, using Dolby Digital causes other clients such as native NextPVR client on the Windows PC, and AppleTV client MrMC to lose audio when channel changing.
Finally, I decided to change my STB's audio output to PCM/Mpeg and try things out.
It certainly fixes the audio issue for those affected clients, that is good.
Whilst messing around, I discovered my STB can have both HDMI and Toslink (Optical Digital) simultaneously, and has options to select type of audio for each output.
ie. Can select PCM/Mpeg for HDMI audio output, and Dolby Digital for Toslink audio output.
So, I wondered if I could have the best of both worlds?.
I wondered for the STB channels in my NextPVR HDPVR device channel list, if I could alter the inputs for the channels that support Dolby Digital, to use the optical digital input for audio, and the HDMI for video.
I changed some of the channels to use HDMI/SPDIF instead of HDMI/HDMI.
I had to re-enter the blast configs, as updating a channel forces this.
When I select a channel, the IR codes seem to flash, and can see my STB indicating it is receiving change channel command, but it is not sending the correct channel command, and my STB just changes to the last working channel.
I manually changed channels with my STB remote, and can confirm that it was indeed getting HDMI video, and Toslink Audio.
However, it messes up IR Blasting.
If I change the channel inputs back to HDMI/HDMI, then it changes channels properly again, and blasts normally.
I just wondered if there is some trick to overcome this?
I am editing an existing channel to change inputs, and wonder if nuking all the channels and configuring one at a time as new channels would make any difference?
I thought that was quite interesting, and wonder if the blasting weirdness was due to editing inputs as opposed to creating a brand new channel?
Well at last after how many years? I have finally updated my kit and moved over to V5. It looks like there have been some changes or I don't understand how the metadata files work now. Below are my notes and questions, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
I have a Sample Structure below that I have tested against
TestVideo Highlighted
folder.jpg image shown (in image only layout)
tried changing imagename to TestVideo.jpg, does not display
Is there anyway to get an xml displayed here as well? ie Image and Text display
TestVideo Selected enters into the directory
.. highlighted
folder.jpg shown
TestDir1 Highlighted
Sample1.jpg shown (or possibly the created folder.jpg) (as Image and Text layout screen)
Sample1.xml displayed
Sample1.nfo displayed (if no xml)
TestDir1 Selected goes to new V5 play screen, shows jpg and xml (or nfo) together
if TestDir1 contains any directories then it enters the directory instead
if TestDir1 contains multiple movies it displays differnet XMLs but same folder.jpg
Note. At some point above the Sample1.jpg is copied to folder.jpg
TestDir2 highlighted
folder.jpg shown
TestDir2 Selected enters into directory (what I would call the old V4 display,)
.. highlighted
folder.jpg shown
What determines whether it uses the V5 screen or V4 screen?
Sample2.mkv highlighted
Sample2.xml shown (screen layout has space for image on left hand side)
Sample2.nfo shown (if no XML) (screen layout has space for image on left hand side)
Sample2.jpg Not Shown (did show in V4)
Sample3.mkv highlighted
Sample3.xml shown when no xml (screen layout has space for image on left hand side)
Sample3.jpg Not Shown (did show in V4)
Sample4.mkv highlighted
Sample4.xml shown (screen layout has space for image on left hand side)
Sample4.jpg Not Shown (did show in V4)
Notes.
All tests done on latest version
Clear NPVR-data/Thumbs each run
I've tried editting the pictures.xml but no success
There are a few questions above, hopefully someone can give me a steer on where I am going wrong.
With the coming demise of free TVDB API in October it would be nice if NextPVR used the TMDB API for TV shows. Currently I think it is restricted to movies. It is a pretty complete API and I think it offers more shows than TV Maze.
Apollo TV IPTV service. Works fine on my NVIDIA Shield using TiviMate, so I don't think this is a problem with Apollo TV.
I have been using Apollo TV and NextPVR for MANY months. However, I just changed computers and now I cannot get the EPG to load in NextPVR. Apollo offers three possible URL's to access their EPG data, and I have all 3 plugged into the m3u Guide data for my IPTV device in NextPVR. However, when I try to load the EPG data, I immediately get this - EPG Update Complete - 0 updated, 0 inserted, 0 skipped.
Attached is the log file. The EPG update attempts are at the very end.
I had to laugh when I found out someone had put our televised 1pm covid updates (from our prime minister and director of health) on to IMDB, with seasons for each time we've had an outbreak (and the 1pm updates have returned to our screens).
From within the UI client I tried to update a reoccurring recording type but it would not change. I tried the using left/right arrow keys and the mouse clicking on the arrow buttons but I could not get it to change. The Roku client also has this issue. Haven't tried Knewc.
The web client works ok, it's just the UI clients.
