I copied over some recordings from my home server to my local server today. And thought that the easiest way to get them into my database would be to use NextImport and just point it to the root of my recording directory tree.

But, since I've got the side-by-side .ts and .mp4 versions (for the Roku client), NextImport ended up importing all of the .mp4 files as additional recordings! Oopps, that's not what I intended. Fortunately, I had made a backup of my database file, so not a big deal to fix.

Martin: Maybe you could add logic (either automatic or via a flag) to not import a .mp4 recording when the same .ts recording is already in the database.

For those of you using Schedules Direct, there is some changes underway in the SD service that will affect your ability to get artwork in NextPVR.

For NextPVR v5 users, if you log into the web app at http://localhost:8866, then view http://localhost:8866/service?method=set...d.clearart, then on the Settings->About page do an 'empty epg' followed by an 'update epg', your artwork will begin functioning again.

For NextPVR v4 users, you will stop receiving any artwork from Schedules Direct in a few weeks, so it might finally be time for you to think about upgrading to v5.

I recently discover that NextPVR v5 wasn't in beta anymore. It is great, thanks .

I actually have v4 on WIndows and use the add-on on Kodi 18.9.
I will upgrade my Kodi to 19.1 but not for now.

I have some questions :

Should/could I upgrade my Nextpvr windows application to v5 now or should I wait to upgrade my Kodi to 19?

If I install V5, will my v4 be upgraded automatically or is it an independent installation?
I would like to keep my settings, recordings schedules, and guide if possible...

have searched on forum about getting double channels in tv guide. i have tried suggestions from users but it still happening, it all started when i put updateepg.bat into the scripted folder. any idea's why?

Plain and simple; does or will NextPVR support DRM enabled channels? 

Cox Cable recently (Aug 2021) turned on DRM for all of their extended channels (channels not available over the air or through an antenna). 

Also, what would it take for NPVR to support DRM? I’m willing to pay some amount of money, if it requires some type of certification. 

This thread is also open to commiserate about Cox’s recent changes.

When choosing a program from the EPG to record once, I get this quite often.  This happens when the show is in progress, but not always.  Recently I was trying to reproduce this, and succeeded both times I tried.  Here is what I did and the results from both attempts.

I have a HDHomeRun Quatro tuner (4 tuners).  To be clear it is the ATSC 1.0 version, not the ATSC 3.

First attempt:
1. I chose a program to record, clicked on it from the EPG
2. I selected Record Once
3. I was returned to the EPG, but the program did not turn red
4. No data was being written to disk.
5. I switched tabs, then back to EPG
6. Still not red, and not recording.
7. I selected a different program to record, clicked on it from the EPG
8. Chose record once.
9. Both programs were now red in the EPG, and writing data to disk.

Second attempt:
1. I chose a program to record. 
2. program turned red and started recording
3. I chose a 2nd program to record
4. program turned red and started recording
5. I chose a 3rd program to record
6. program turned red and started recording
7. I chose a 4th program to record (Hawaii Five-o)
8. program DID NOT turn red, and did not record.

some time elapsed

9. one program stopped recording at 2:30 PM Pacific Time
10. Hawaii Five-o started recording and writing data to disk
11.  Still only 3 of my four tuners in use.  (verified from NextPVR, and from the HDHomeRun web app)
12. Selected a 4th program to record
13. program turned red and started recording

It takes almost 10 seconds before the video loads. I have 2 HdHomerun devices...Connect 4 tuner model, and the original 2 tuner model. This issue occurs using Kodi 18.9 and Kodi 19.1...AND the desktop version of NPVR. I saw that there is a new Nshared.dll....I installed it and restarted the Win10 computer....issue still exists. Is there any way to speed this up? Below is what I found in the logs...I am on version 5.1.4.210802 on NextPvr.5.1.4.2108025.1.4.2108025.1.4.210802

Can NextPvr v5 operate with two ports, 8866 & 8867 without running two instances? If so, how? Thanks.

I got a new Roku TV that I've been using as a new client for my NextPVR server here in NC. My postprocessing script generates an .mp4 for it to play. The source is an HDHR with a cablecard and Spectrum cable. (The cable does seem to be a bit glitchy at times even with their settop boxes. But I don't think that this problem is signal related.)

Frequently, I'll be watching a program and all of a sudden the audio will continue, but the video will freeze. And if I hit OK to bring up the OSD, it shows that the current position is something wonky like 13+ hours into a 1:03 recording. And, if I hit the <- button to stop playback, I get the prompt saying the show has been played to completion and asking if I want to delete. Of course, the resume point is also lost/messed up.

I have found that if I restart playing the program and use the "remote menu" to enter a jump time to somewhere around where I was, it will begin playing fine (and the timeline appears correct). Sometimes this happens once in a show. Other times it's many times in the same show. It is (almost?) always during an actual show, so shouldn't be a problem with the .ts timeline getting changed by commercial insertion or something like that.

This morning, the problem happened several times while I was playing an episode of Big Brother. So you should see several examples of the problem, my recovery, continued playback, repeat, etc. in these logs.

Is the current (timeline) position coming from the Roku or the NextPVR backend server? I've also got an RPi 4 with LE and knewc which I'm using heavily here. I have not experienced this problem with it's playback. But it would be using the .ts file and I believe that it is reading the file directly via SMB not streaming via the NextPVR server.

I'm hoping that Martin will see something obvious in the logs.

Might the iOS app get an Airplay icon, in a future release, so mirroring isn’t needed each launch? Thanx.
